I would love to see more tutorials about designing in Silhouette Studio, it's such a powerful program and I think with all the beautiful designs and fonts from creative fabrica it would be so much fun to create something special like gifts.

Such a great video everything i want to do you hit..I might just have to try silhouette studio now.. you always give the greatest tips and advice..I've watched so many and not one of them has said don't flip your project if your mirror setting is on..I know this may seem like a given, but some might not catch it..and when you ask them at least ones with thousands of subscribers you hardly ever get a comment back. I’m pretty beginner fit silhouette studio but I’ve been using it for about a year or so now. Try importing the SVG file instead of the png file. SVG file will allow you to edit the words.

That is a great question! This will happen sometimes depending on the quality of the photo. If the image is made too big it will distort the image and may appear grainy and give you the "low resolution" sign. I will be sure to let our creative team know about your suggestion! ❤️ In the meantime, in Silhouette you can adjust your mat size to your needed size and from there you should be able to print the size you need! When you go to piece the two together you want to make sure the design is not overlapping at all or you will get a line through your design.

Hey Nancy! It shouldn't, I've used Scotch and Amazon brand with good results. Perhaps try lowering the heat a little when you adhere the laminate? It may be that you need to dry the wood out, you can bake it at a low temperature in your crafting oven. ---Becky

Hi Wondering if you can help. I cut a lot of vinyl decals for using to custom spray paint helmets etc and i use a silhouette studio 3 and DE Tape Flexible Surfaces Stencil Film but at the moment i use the settings blade depth 1 force 10 speed 5, but a lot of the text etc are very small and i keep finding it tears them up i keep trying different settings but can't find one that doesn't ruin the decal. i'm not sure what way to go with the settings depending on what is happening. hope this makes some sense?
Hey Scott! Sorry to hear of your cutting troubles. Unfortunately small text is always going to be a struggle. I haven't used that type of stencil material so I'm not much help, but I would start by slowing your speed down to 2 or 3, and make sure your blade is sharp. If the text is thin, you can use the offset tool to thicken it up a little. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hey Lisa! The great thing about Sublimation is that you don't need to cut! Just size to fit your tumbler, print, and then trim by hand or with a straight edge trimmer. Hope this helps! ---Becky
You can use SVG or PNG since you will be printing and not cutting. 😊 If you use a PNG file you have the advantage of being able to change the color of the pieces, where as PNG it's already the color it's going to print.

Hey Bonnie! This is very common, unfortunately. I would recommend setting up 2" boxes in Silhouette Studio and filling them with various teal and mint colors, then print and press on a spare piece of polyester. It will take some testing, but you can tweak your teal colors until you have a good color code that works for you. Hope this helps! ---Becky
Hey Amanda! You colors will always print different than what you screen shows, unfortunately. Have you pressed the images? Don't forget that with sublimation, the colors don't "pop" until heat is applied. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Hey Teena! Usually this means that the image is low resolution (low quality), for example if you've grabbed some clipart from the internet. There are times when this won't be an issue for your printing, and you can ignore the warning (test print first before sending a bulk or large print). But sometimes it just means that you won't be able to use that design at the size you intended. Hope this helps! ---Becky

I have been using silhouette studio for 7 yrs now - just starting with sublimation. It seems that my print border looks a lot smaller than yours or anyone else's. Mine looks like it comes in at least 1/4" all the way around which messes up my ability to print 20+ oz tumbler wraps. Any idea how to change that? I have tried printing borderless a time before but it actually changed the size of my print. Any help would be really appreciated! Thanks

Hey Valerie! Unfortunately Silhouette Studio doesn't have the ability for color profiles, you can only print "normal". I haven't had any issues, but if you need to use color profiles, you can check out Affinity Designer or Photoshop. Hope this helps! ---Becky

Could you do a tutorial on how to use HTV printable vinyl to give the effect of sublimation? I'm having a hard time tracing the png design so it will cut on the printable vinyl paper. The yellow saturation is either too much or to little. I'm using registration marks, I've given up on my Print N Cut mat..lol. I'll get it someday. TIA
Hello! It will depend how often you will use it. You can convert an Epson EcoTank, however if you are not using it frequently you could run into the lines getting clogged. I would recommend going with a Sawgrass as they have a self cleaning feature! 😊
I plan on using it alot, but I am a beginner as I said, and I need to learn how to do it all. When it comes to print sizes, would this Sawgrass be better also?
Can anybody please help me. want to print image on sublimation A4 print. then transfer to Videoflex subli fabric, then cut it with silhouette cameo 3. BUT cannot seem to get it right to get my registration marks to print in mirror with the image on sublimation paper. if anybody can help me maybe? i would appreciate.
When you are printing, are you printing from Silhouette so that the registration marks are on the image? If you are, you can mirror your image before printing, then when the image goes to cut on the Silhouette the registration marks should show the machine to line up correctly. 😊
Can someone tell why I’m having trouble downloading the free silhouette software? I tried on both my lap top and my new iPad Pro. It wouldn’t download. However, I was able to download the Cricut software so I know there’s nothing wrong with my devices. I’m trying to play around with the software before I decide to buy the machine. I’d really appreciate if someone knows why I can’t download it.
@@creativefabrica just a message that it was unable to download. But like I said my iPad and laptop were both able to download Cricut’s Design Space so I don’t understand what is different about Silhouette’s software. I’m trying to play with both softwares so I can choose which machine to buy.

OMG you talk so fast like your on speed. It is so hard to keep up to you and see what your even clicking on. It's hard for us new people to keep up with you. I had to rewind so many times. Hi, thanks for your comment. What type of font are you using? Some fonts only come as an outline, and then there might be a filled option available for the same font. If you are printing a font that is supposed to be filled, it might be the case that your printer has some issues. It could be related to that your Printhead needs a clean (see here: www.ldproducts.com/blog/how-to-clean-an-epson-printhead/) We would suggest to get in touch with Epson's support to check with them what is the best option. I have found that saving a file in PNG format from silhouette Studio designer equals a 150 DPI resolution regardless if I enter 300 DPI when saving.

Becky Im still new to crafty and strugggle With the difference between PnG and sVg do you have a tutorial on the difference?
A PNG you can print and cut, where as an SVG you can cut! 😊 PNGs cannot be cut like SVGs.

When printing sublimation designs they will be duller, once pressed the designs will pop! 😊 The heat is what activates sublimation designs!

You will want to group the text with your image, this will then put it as one image rather than the text being separate! 😊
u are going fast in some places. also when i do merge and it is a file that u have to open to get the things from it never opens

Could you do a tutorial on how to use HTV printable vinyl to give the effect of sublimation? I'm having a hard time tracing the png design so it will cut on the printable vinyl paper. The yellow saturation is either too much or to little. I'm using registration marks, I've given up on my Print N Cut mat..lol. I'll get it someday. TIA

Hello! It will depend how often you will use it. You can convert an Epson EcoTank, however if you are not using it frequently you could run into the lines getting clogged. I would recommend going with a Sawgrass as they have a self cleaning feature! 😊
I plan on using it alot, but I am a beginner as I said, and I need to learn how to do it all. When it comes to print sizes, would this Sawgrass be better also?

You will first want to add your printer to whatever device you are using, then you should be able to select it while in Silhouette. 😊
Can anybody please help me. want to print image on sublimation A4 print. then transfer to Videoflex subli fabric, then cut it with silhouette cameo 3. BUT cannot seem to get it right to get my registration marks to print in mirror with the image on sublimation paper. if anybody can help me maybe? i would appreciate.
When you are printing, are you printing from Silhouette so that the registration marks are on the image? If you are, you can mirror your image before printing, then when the image goes to cut on the Silhouette the registration marks should show the machine to line up correctly. 😊

Can someone tell why I’m having trouble downloading the free silhouette software? I tried on both my lap top and my new iPad Pro. It wouldn’t download. However, I was able to download the Cricut software so I know there’s nothing wrong with my devices. I’m trying to play around with the software before I decide to buy the machine. I’d really appreciate if someone knows why I can’t download it.

@@creativefabrica just a message that it was unable to download. But like I said my iPad and laptop were both able to download Cricut’s Design Space so I don’t understand what is different about Silhouette’s software. I’m trying to play with both softwares so I can choose which machine to buy.

OMG you talk so fast like your on speed. It is so hard to keep up to you and see what your even clicking on. It's hard for us new people to keep up with you. I had to rewind so many times. But you do have many great tips. I wish all of you would make easy to follow cheat sheets so we can figure it all much easier.

I use silhouette to sublimate but i get a lot of designs from etsy and i get png but when i print the color is not bright. I have the free edition. Please help
When printing sublimation designs your colors will not be bright. Once you press the design the colors will pop! 🤩
My black lettering only prints an outline when I send it to my Epson, please help!
Hi, thanks for your comment. What type of font are you using? Some fonts only come as an outline, and then there might be a filled option available for the same font.
If you are printing a font that is supposed to be filled, it might be the case that your printer has some issues. It could be related to that your Printhead needs a clean (see here: www.ldproducts.com/blog/how-to-clean-an-epson-printhead/)
We would suggest to get in touch with Epson's support to check with them what is the best option.
