I've had my PixScan mat for several years, and I've never been able to understand how it works. Your explanation was great! I can't wait to start using my PixScan mat now. There are a million design ideas flying around in my mind! 💜
I know this video is 3 years old, but my Cameo 3 and PixScan mat are also 3 years old, and am just now needing to tru the PixScan mat. Great, easy to follow tutorial. Thank you.
I m a little late to the silhouette world, but just got my Matt and all these other bit and bobs. I think I’ve watched ever pixscan Matt TH-cam tutorial out there, and your was by far the most informative and professional thank heaps.
A little thank you from me. I bought the pixscan and spent forever trying to make it work, I even whinged about it on silhouette's page, but found your video over night, watched, stopped and started it and finally got the silly product to work - grateful. Loved your video, you are bright, energetic and a pleasure to watch
I'm new to silhouette. Just jumped ship from cricut. It seems like every day, I'm cleaning up my blown mind. hahaha THIS IS AWESOME! Thank you so much for sharing! A BUNCH of ideas just sprang to mind. Holy WOW.
In your first demonstration, with the series of women, must you select each figure individually, or is there a way to trace the cut lines for all the figures at once?
@@morningglory147 Did you figure this out? I had the same problem and the fix was to manually register the marks. so click on manually register then remove your blade and use the 4 little arrows until you see the registration box in the middle of the blade holder. Then click register. Hope that helps!
Great video! Just a question, I have the "Silhouette Studio 4.0 - Basic Edition" on my Portrait. Will this software be enough or do I have to have the Designer software or the Business software? Thank you in advanced.
Quick question, my machine will be here on Monday and I almost bought this mat. Why does HSN sell 12 of these at a time * one order. Do they need replacing often? Thanks
This is awesome. I have been asking when Cricut will bring Snapmat to other systems other than iOS and that it if it hasn't happened by the time I need to replace my Maker I will be switching to Silhouette because it is cheaper to do that then switching devuces to iOS. TBH - the more I see of Silhouette features I think I will be switching anyway. [Note -this video is 2 years old and Android/PC Cricut "Design" space apps still don't have snapmat!]
Help! I’m so lost. I was doing it according to your directions, then loaded version 4.4.247ssbe. Now the PixScan mat has its own mat in the program. How do I use this new feature? Looked on Silhouette 101 but no tutorial. Thank you.
I’m about to throw my Cameo through the window. 😩 I cannot get the stupid Send button to work. It kept saying “cameo is initializing” and after I updated the software, the button is completely grayed out.
I used my keyboard cover to get the exact (or close to) the exact measurements of the keys. This isn't true to size. I am so frustrated. Ive been trying to get this accurate for days
So please, how do you do the envelope cuts and draw/writing on the pic scan mat? Not sure how to apply the steps on this video for cut images to theafore mentioned,
you would upload the pic of your envelope then you have to go back into DESIGN mode to create the border. Then place the design where you want it to cut on your envelope.
Ok when I load the pix scan into machine and it starts to do the register reading it pulls the mat to far out the back and it can’t read the marks. Do you know why it does this!
This happened to me until I found out the reason. I did the calibration process by taking a picture of the dotted page on portrait but then uploaded a picture on landscape The machine expected a longer image and sent the mat flying through the back. ... until I realised what I was doing wrong. Hope it helps.
Mhhhh, I wouldn't have called that accuracy 'amazing'. The cuts are not centered on the figures, but rather shifted to on side, making for pretty terrible-looking results. I have the same problem with this mat.
My first try at this cut in the completely wrong place! I put the mat in following the arrow but it cut the image as if it were rotated 90 degrees clockwise. Anyone else have this issue?

You gave easy to understand instructions. But the whole process seems overly complicated for scanning in images to make cutouts. My Brother Scan N Cut makes it a whole lot easier with its built-in 600 DPI color scanner I can scan 12x12 inch mats as scan to cut, scan to data to save the cut files, scan to JPG for saving just the image. Lots of other cool features to be sure. Way quieter than the Silhouette.

Thank you for explaining this, now I get to cut all the things!
You did an awesome job giving instructions !
Thanks. I always forget when I use the PixScan mat. :)
Love this video!
Excellent instructions - gave me just what I needed. Thank you!

Wow it worked 💪 thanks
Can you do a video on troubleshooting? Like when it can't register the marks. #frustrating
this is wear i am at

Kathleen Pisupati no i didn’t put on back burner cause I was frustrated. Really want it to tho
I ran into this issue. The most common problem is putting the mat on the alignment line instead of just left of it. It solved the problem for me.

I have same exact question. 🙁
So helpful!!

This was great! Thanks so much!
My photo keeps saying resolution too low. I have tried a million different angles , lighting etc. :(
When you send your picture make sure you email at FULL SIZE.
i have some cherry paper and want to cut it out for earings can u use a template for it?
where can you find the dot page for calibration?
It's under 'PixScan' -> 'Show Calibration Test Card'. Won't do you any good, though. The results will still be useless.
How to use space for painting? Like you did on the map? Is there a tutorial?

Can you just scan it into your printer/computer if you don't take pictures?

Yes. It is the same mat.

I would like to see the mat loaded because that is where my problems are

I almost bought a SAC but too many negative reviews and costs
@@karuder A matter of opinion. What were the complaints about? 'Cos if they watched the tutorials online and read the manual it is all explained.
how accurate is this
Not very much at all, at least not when using a camera. Maybe better using a scanner, don't know.
what if you dot have a printer
Print to PDF and have that printed somewhere
