I've watched enough reviews where I've come to the conclusion that I do eventually want to check this out but I will be waiting for a price drop or possible Black Friday sale.

from what i can tell its a good game, just needs a bit of fixing, so I think it should be good to get by then.
The gaming community is full of hypocrites, if a game they desire get a 5/10 they start bitchin but if a game they want to fail gets bad reviews they be like "nO sUrPriSe"
Honestly i will never listen to any reviews when it comes to games that imo look good or fun, i'd play it and get some personal experience to see if the game is good or bad, people Hated F76 and i loved it, i had a good time with friends, Final Fantasy 15 was hated, I loved it, Arkham Origins was hated, i loved it, it depends on your experience and nothing else.
My thoughts exactly; the game looks fun, just not for the full price tag.
I was planning on holding off for a while already anyway so the reviews have just reaffirmed my previous decision
My only problem with the mystic leap is that you lower at quite a rapid rate, meaning that, unlike Batgirl and Nightwing, you constantly have to grapple in between jumps.
Facts, Red Hood is my favorite character to play as, and seeing his traversal being so underwhelming was disappointing, especially given his competition.
I gotta say it: anybody else notice the Bat Family in this game wears their corresponding colours in their civilian clothes like the power rangers? 😂
This is why I tend to not just go with stuff like IGN reviews they’re vague and if there’s something bad or that they deem bad they nitpick every part of it.

After playing GK for two days I can safely say that IGN rushed through it to put out their review. I get it to an extent, you have an audience that wants to hear your take on it so you just give an overall opinion based on especially just beating the story which is mostly likely all they did. The people saying this game has no content just rushed through the story and didn’t bother with the premeditated crimes, challenges and new game+. The crimes themselves are somewhat repetitive sure, but that’s essentially all open world RPGs at this point if you’re relying on IGN to make a decision you’re doing it wrong.
Great review I hope people can take something away from this. Please remember it’s still down to us as gamers to experience things for ourselves

I initially watched the IGN review and felt real sour, but I'm glad someone who was also an Arkham fan was able to deliver some positives. Ironically, apparently some of the other reviewers thought the story and plot twists were constantly obvious, but if it was enough to catch people off guard, surely it can't be that bad. STILL excited to get my hands on this!
When you have to force yourself to find positives there is something wrong
And now having played it, I'm actually quite enjoying the combat. Nightwings takedowns are just *chefs kiss*.
The only BIG letdown on launch was the fact that MP Invites didn't work on PC at all. Apparently that's been fixed, but yet to try it with a mate :/
Ugh the game is awful. The combat got old fast and enemies are annoying sponges.
@@jokerinthegamerchair4743 Because you're not doing the timed strikes and momentum moves. Timed strikes do more damage and gain you more momentum, which are like gadget attacks from Arkham. It takes time to learn and get good at.

My only major complaint is the frame rate and the lack of weight behind things. Doesn’t matter if there’s not many buttons to press to fight but the hits and the movement need to feel a lil bit more
those are your only complaints? What about the graphical downgrade? Batman Arkham which is 7 years old at this point look FAR better than this, wtf are you talking about.

I really liked this review, very unbiased, honest, and straight to the point. I still want to play the game simply because I'm just a superhero fan.
I'm still looking forward to playing it as I'm a Bat-Family obsessive and I've been super excited ever since it's announcement way back when. Just hoping that the devs will keep working on this game in post release like CDPR did with Cyberpunk 2077 and hopefully in time this game will be greatly more appreciated.

Igns review gave it a 5 but I think they didn't know how the combat worked because you're moving pretty well and meanwhile their character was using the same 3 moves over and over

I think this is a very good & honest review. I think a 7/10 is fair. IGN gave it a 5 which I think is way off. It’s not Arkham the devs said that. They are not Rocksteady which I believe they know that!. That being said they did say and intend for this game to have its own identity they did just that!
Bro this game feel like it was supposed to be a live service game but they decided to not fully commit to that idea because of the disaster of that Marvel Avengers game

Robins gameplay makes me want a X-men game where I can play as Gambit and use his bo staff and kinetic energy powers
Remember everyone making a game is hard especially for the newer gen consoles. These guys aren’t insomniac, but this game looks like it can go somewhere. All of the problems could be solved fairly easily the frame rate problem, the UI, adding a counter, reworking some traversal it can all be fixed they just need time. I am excited for this game and you should be too. Don’t let negativity cloud your judgement, you could love the game.

Nah no excuses. These are the same guys that made Arkham Origins, Cold Cold Heart, and the Batgirl story DLC in Arkham Knight. They literally made some of the best stuff in the Arkham Series. Turning the combat to crap is not because of a new console.
You've got to be ultra naive to think the things you listed are "fairly easy" fixes. Development pipelines don't work like that. Early on in development it wouldn't be so bad, but once systems are established, overhauling them takes a lot of time, especially since companies aren't likely to throw much money at things post-launch since the potential return is less than cost, meaning less people working on it, meaning slower progress. The thing we're most likely to get would be optimizations for the framerate, but for the other things, I wouldn't get my hopes up

Usually framerate patches are super simple to fix up. I'm sure within a day to week of the game being out (if they haven't already fixed it) the game will be running smoothly as it should.
Dying Light 2 had the same problem, and like after a few fixes the game ran super smoothly. I don't think the frame drops will be a long-time problem.

I don’t know. It really needs a 60fps mode. There is starting to be a trend of new games with frame rate issues. For example Dekkar game has been out a few weeks and frame rate is still really bad and takes away from the experience

@@secoTheSonicFan I think it nails Batman and The Batfamily, along with the villains I've met so far. The game play is pretty fun and they've done a good job with the art direction for the game. I fail to see the insult. Does the game have problems? Absolutely it does, am I frustrated at said problems, absolutely I am. It definitely needed more time and the rpg stuff is really messy. I'd give it a flat 7 at the moment. Hardly an insult to the Batman franchise though, that's such a weird take.

I heard its grindy. But I may sound dumb but I kind of don't mind that. I want the story to last. Nursing school is a real grind so beating up thugs in Gotham sounds fun. Spiderman I love and the random not so random repeative crimes I found fun. I hated the mj missions lol

I think this game looks awesome!! I have always wanted a game where you play as Nightwing, Red Hood and Tim Drake in their own game. This is my dream game.

I remember back in 15 when I used to watch your early Batman Arkham Knight vids and now around 7 years later I’m still here
I spent about 3-4 hours playing last night, half co-op and half solo. It’s a really fun game. This review is super accurate to the experience I had also. The story is definitely the most appealing part. And just kicking ass with your friend is a bonus.
I don't think it'll be bad, but I don't think it'll be as good as the Arkham games. I reckon in a few years; the majority will see it the same way as they now see Arkham Origins.

Arkham knight boss battles wasn’t as good but city along with origins and asylum had some good boss fights but imo origins had the best boss fights outta all of the Arkham games

Tbf I expected about a 7 or pushing 8 but with patches I think it’ll come up. Especially if they smooth the graphics and get rid of the frame drops in the future
Also we need different options for gliding give nightwing an option to pick between having gliders like he does in the animation series or the machine he uses same for Robin have a choice between teleport or gliders and have them do missions to unlock the gliders for red hood have to think on that lol buy yes they need to had perrying in this game maybe vampire or zombie dlc would be dope too make those 4 player coop dlcs

I find it funny ign and all these other critics gave it low scores when a lot of the youtubers and streamers seem to find it enjoyable and fun. I feel like the critics need to wait until the day 1 patch to make their reviews. This game doesnt have its day 1 patch yet so once it gets that i assume the fps drops wont be nearly as bad.

This is something I haven't seen anyone comment yet but the grappling is atrocious. The animations are so clunky and rigid. You can't combo your grappling for smoother traversal so you find yourself jumping off a ledge only to then freeze mid air to grapple somewhere else. Your momentum is repeatedly interrupted and NOTHING feels fast. The only thing that makes traversal bearable is 'fast traversal' which is depressing to say...
I know imma be playing it tomorrow but man I just gotta know. Is there any mention or anything pertaining to Selina Kyle in this game? Because I truly want to know how she’s doing after Batman’s death. Kinda hope that she’ll eventually become a dlc character for this game.

Hearing that the game struggles to maintain a steady framerate is really disappointing. Will probably wait to see if this gets fixed before picking it up.

This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make for a game for me I really love the game concept and everything I’ve seen so far is amazing but all I hear are mediocre to bad reviews so I’m really split
Currently 4 am stay up to check out reviews it seems some people like and some people don’t which is what I was expecting regardless can’t wait to dive in later tonight.
Sad to hear about the fps and ui but i’m still just as hyped for the amazing open world,cool skins and decent combat and hopefully with a few patches this game can reach it true potential

Combat is the same three moves being spammed until your special meter fills up 🤦🏾♂️ no variety with martial arts or anything like Batman, the person who trained all four people in the game, they should’ve made this a Arkham game frfr

No even casual gamers who don't know what a good or bad game is agree that saints row is a unbearably bad game. Almost like a corporate plant with absolutely 0 passion or dedication put into it what so ever.
@@shadowtitan8545 No, Saints Row is awesome. It's just fun and the aesthetic for the musculature on women is way better. Plus, amother stellar performance from Eric Lindbeck. I've been running around with her looking like She-Hulk and it's just perfect.

Coming from someone who has played 2042 from start to now, I have zero issues getting this game with the reported issues. Simply because the issues mentioned don't seem to be game breaking. Where as the bugs on 2042 were actually game breaking. If I suffered through that, then I know I can suffer through this.
Do you recommend playing as all 4 characters in your first play through?
I can confidently say I’ve been playing on Series X the past 2 days and have had no frame drops or any issues like that. I’ve been loving the game! It’s not perfect but it’s really fun and I’ve always wanted to play co-op Batman so it’s a dream come true
Finally an optimistic and honest review. Every review I’ve seen just seemed to unfairly tear into every aspect of the game and tore it down. Especially the IGN review to the point that it felt the reviewer had a personal beef with WB Montreal.
I think I’ll be able to live with all the issues you’ve mentioned even if they don’t fix it, and now I’m more excited then ever to jump in.

I think, sadly, everyone just wants to compare this to Arkham. The ign review made it seem like this was meant to be an Arkham sequel when it isn’t. This was an ambitious and different take on the bat family

Unfortunately thanks to people just hating on this game for not being an Arkham game, and reviews like IGN’s that just reinforce the negative opinions and unfairly tearing into every little bit of the game, this game will forever be viewed as a failure in the eyes of every smooth brain and WB Montreal
Wouldn’t be surprised if these “hate trains on games before their even out” are a driving force behind developers just making nothing but sequels, remakes, or live-service games. They see these overly negative reactions to games and think people don’t want original ideas or stories

That's all everyone is comparing it too. All the reviews from the press just whining, "Wah wah this isn't Arkham wah wah!" People are just jumping to hate it because it's the cool thing to do. Why like things when you can be mean and cynical all the time? It's disgusting.
@@joshua021598 oh no I played the game but felt like the gameplay was terrible. There is too much grinding that need to be done just to unlock basic traversal mechanics. But the story was pretty solid. It just that gameplay that takes the fun out of it. Also the whole game is built like it was supposed to be a live services game but due the disaster of Marvel's Avengers they don't charger you money to buy things. This also makes the ui system such a pain to look at because of the way things are structured.

Hi @Caboose. Love your honest review of the game. Based on other reviews, it seems like the average score is 5/10, so I'm happy I didn't preordered the game. I hope you will provide an updated review, if/when the technical bugs have been pathed, so I can pick up the game with a better gut feeling.

I’m not worried about repetitive crimes, we all played Spider-Man ps4. Those crimes were repetitive and reskinned for the different factions
Exactly those crimes got stale in the main games itself. Let alone the DLC.

I'm still hype for it because I know wb Montreal will fix the issues with it like you said they are really passionate about this game so I have faith that they will get it where it needs to be so I'm all in.....hours left I'm so ready to put in some night shifts....

See these are the reviews we need. Not 100% sh!tting on games or 100% praising games. Seriously why is this such a hard concept to understand? No games won't be 100% perfect and not 100% bad, well some acceptions but you know what I mean. Great review and all the worries I had were pretty much confirmed but I'm still hyped. I especially glad to here it's a nice story because that was the best part of Origins and I was hoping to see the good stories and characters in this gane which looks like it will be. Great review, keep up tye good work and rest. I caught covid last month after 2 years of avoiding so I can kind of guess what you went through man
I heard that after patch 10.03, framerates are stable

No. Arkham Knight with 60 fps is always welcome but time for other heroes or sidekicks to get a game of their own.

The soundtrack was awesome! The Li Vidi Ayoca was a great song choice especially to get u 'pumped-up' for the next 2 waves of enemies without having to heal. It has the tight energy to get you rocking out with the tune and playing the game in time to the beat.
A 7/10 sounds about right. I know when I first played AC odyssey it had some frame rate drops but I enjoyed that game even though it could get hard at times. I’m still looking forward to this game. Dying light 2 was really broken when it came out but I played through it and enjoyed the parkour and story the most. So i hope I will have fun with this one.
This game is definetly not a 7/10. The story is absolutely awful(I read about what happens), the combat is boring and man the frame rate and side activities are insanely bad. It's an easy 4/10 for most reviewers, Caboose is just biased.

@@zacharyvahle8561 nobody who’s done a review played the whole game for one the story’s not out there yet , the terrible frame rate is the exact same as current gen ps4 and Xbox games which I’m 99.9% sure everyone still plays ps4 games and enjoys them
I heard that someone who got the game early said the framerate was choppy on the first day and then an update released that made it perfectly consistent.
FINALLY someone who just isn't expecting Arkham and isn't DUNKING on it from the get go. I appreciate the honest feedback, still excited to play it since I love STORY/RPG elements and a bit sad about the UI/Gear since that's important for me. But we'll see once I go through it myself.

The reviews are all over the place with this game. Metacritic has it at 69/100 but some of the TH-cam reviews have been much more encouraging. I usually dont do this but I’ll wait for a sale. Im a HUGE Batman fan which is probably why I will eventually play this.
Great video man. I'm sure the game is a bit messy now but I'm sure things will smooth out soon. If we as fans want changes we have to get that word out.... your doing great with that. I still can't wait to jump in and kick some butt. Let's go bat family!! Almost time.

2:50 okay that looks like a proper fight, what I was seeing was 3-4 dude's just stand around while you took them out one by one so this is definitely more encouraging

7/10 sounds perfectly fair on that level of granularity. And slap dab in the middle of what I thought the game may end up. Anyway, the best parts are the ones I care most about in this game (Tim Drake, my beloved), and the worst parts I'd already made peace with long ago while still being within the enjoyable range for me, so I'm all good. Still, loot system and performance issues are needlessly self-inflicted wounds for general audience reception in what could otherwise have been a game praised by the masses for years. I just want it to sell well enough for a sequel, please.
