Tiana as a character and the film in general actually help lift up many of the previous princesses by highlighting that working hard only gets you so far. Sometimes you are going to need magic (or rather lucky breaks in our world) to get what you want/need because the obstacles are too much. "Why didn't Snow White just leave?" "Why didn't Cinderella just say no?" "Why didn't Belle have adventures on her own?" Oh yes, a teenage girl goes skipping off into the wide world with no money, job, or place to go. That'll end well. Jasmine was also a great princess that addressed these complaints. Five minutes in a marketplace and she's nearly de-handed 😂
I just finished rewatching the movie , She's definitely my favorite Disney princess, I loved that she firmly believed , focused and worked so hard to achieve a better life , even that the twins who selled her the building made a horrible racist comment about how she won't be able to handle opening and running a luxurious restaurant because she comes from a "poor background" Still she didn't give in Into their mean words and knew her worth and what she truly deserves in life .
You made a great video! I love your point about Tiana not being resentful of Charlotte and just trying to get where she needs to be on her own. Additionally, I think it speaks volumes how the movie doesn’t “force” Tiana and Naveen together, (an example being Cinderella, and that wasn’t really a “forcing” scenario either, but it kinda felt as though Cinderella getting her freedom was more or less contingent on the prince choosing her, and I’m aware I’m oversimplifying the message of a movie but I need to do that for my point so ignore that terrible take for the sake of my point, please and thank you) the point of this movie isn’t “you need love to achieve your dreams” or something like that, the way I interpreted this movie was “If you’re going to live your dream, isn’t it sweeter to do with love?” At the end of the movie, Tiana and Naveen don’t NEED to stay together, she has her restaurant and he can, I don’t know go off playing the ukulele into the sunset, but they choose to be together because they complete each other, and I found that to be a really nice message.

This comment is the best! Yeah it doesn’t mean Cinderella is bad but Tiana message is just so brilliant and interesting! Glad you loved the video!
Brilliant analysis, especially regarding Tiana's contextual background :D
Cheers bro!!!! Thanks for watching!
