The longest day yet, 12 hours climbing up 3 of the top 5 highest peaks in Scotland. Some serious work put in today.

Well done. Much more serious route than Sgor Gheoith. You must have been nervous when the clouds came in but you coped fine. In fact your awareness of where you are and what you are looking at shows that you have the necessary spacial awareness to navigate just fine. Navigating in cloud is largely a matter of confidence. Follow your compass and note the obvious ups and downs and that's basically it.

Thanks. I want to do those four anticlockwise, with a bivi if the bothy is full. Last time I was there was doing Lairig G. as a kid in summer 1978. View of those hills impressed me. I must return this July.

Yes, I remember chatting to some people who had stayed in the bothy the previous evening, it was also full…. Looks to be a very popular spot

@@baggingthemunros3354 Thanks. It's a small single room with earth floor, if I remember correctly. That bothy was full on 1978 trip, so I would not count on getting in this summer. I also remember popping in to the removed Sinclair Memorial hut, near the path junction you pointed out. Happy walking!

All the best, Anthony, for your return to the hills. I never forgot my childhood walks in the Highlands. I returned 5 years ago, aged 50. I still celebrate each Munro, Corbett and multipitch climb I do. I live for those days. Long may veteran walkers and climbers continue!

Cracking video mate . Good effort . Well done . I’m got these 4 to do to finish off the Cairngorms munros ., can I ask . I’m thinking on doing it anti clockwise . From your experience off it do you think it would be slightly easier. . Plus I’ve always got the bothy to fall on should anything happen and I can’t make it back in time . Thx

Thanks, this was a cracking day out… If you start early enough in the morning and you should be fine.. I think it’s a tough day out regardless which way round you walk it… so it’s good logic having the bothy as a fall back.
