    I have 4 cats, and I have to sneak in my crochet sessions during their naps. These are wonderful coasters, and I use cotton yarn leftovers to make these. I have binocular vision disfunction, so it's hard to read patterns without eye fatigue. I'm so grateful for your tutorial and the chance to make nice gifts for people.

    Your written pattern has an error from Round 1. If you follow "CH 3 and 1 DC into the ring, CH 2, * 2 DC, CH 2, 2 DC ** into centre ring, repeat from * to ** 4 more times" you will end up with 22DC(including 1 x CH3 in the beginning) and 12 CH. I'm glad I stopped at attempt #2 and followed the instructions in the video instead. Thank you for the video.

    • @CrochetandTea
      @CrochetandTea  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s possible your stitches are getting tighter as you go which is natural until you get to grips with your tension, a light spray of water a cloth and a couple of heavy books overnight always sorts it out for me :)

    Is there a particular yarn or cord you would recommend that’s relatively resilient to food wear and tear? I know they’d be washable but I’m still after a certain degree of hardiness if they’re going to stand the test of time.
    Love your instruction style by the way, it’s nice to go along with you through the entire project from start to finish in real time. Relaxing too :)

    • @CrochetandTea

    Thanks for sharing this pattern! In my opinion though, you can crochet more efficiently if you learn how to properly hold the yarn with your left hand. The way you hold it looks so tiring. 😅

    • @CrochetandTea
      @CrochetandTea  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That’s an interesting pov. What’s sort of efficiencies do you refer to? I’ve seen many ways to hold yarn. I like to think my channel is about throwing out a ‘rule book’ and encouraging people to do whatever helps them to create something beautiful. After all that is the only goal I want x

    Great vid! Just started crocheting and this is my first thing I'm crocheting, so I'm extremely beginner. Around 4:05, after you chain 3 and say we're gonna place a double crochet into the next double crochet, I'm confused which stitch you're poking the needle through. I wanna say you're putting it in that little hole that gets made in between each set of two double crochets, but it looks like you're poking it through a tighter stitch?

    • @CrochetandTea
      @CrochetandTea  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi thanks for your comment, that is the correct the place, the top of the stitch is always a little over to the right of the post of the stitch. The one you will see just to the left of where I place my hook is actually the first of the two chain stitches. Hope that helps x

    • @CrochetandTea
      @CrochetandTea  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could try 3 chains instead of 2, of you have a tendency to crochet your chains a little tighter than your dc stitches. I would also recommend blocking your work by spraying lightly with water and shaping afterwards. Hope that helps
