Don't forget that hand checking was still a thing back then. 92 was better defensively inside and today's team better outside. So it would be interesting. In one game I think it could go either way. In a seven game series I think the 3 point shot would have been paramount. That means today's team is better.

More misinformation from Pierce on Larry Bird. He said " he couldn't play". In 8 games for the 92 team , Bird averaged 8.4 points per game and averaged 18 minutes played and had 52.1 % shooting. In that 91-92 season, he averaged 20.2 points per game in 45 games. Yes, he had major back issues and wasnt playing like "prime mid-80's Bird", but he still could play, he contributed on the Dream Team, and the narrative that he was completely washed up and couldnt play at ALL is false.
These type of arguments are dumb. However, the 92 team played more as a team than this 24 team has played. Plus I'm taking Chuck Daly's coaching over Steve Kerr's coaching.

Pierce needs to stop with the misinformation about Magic. He played into June of 91 in the finals. He was 2nd in mvp voting and an all star for the 91 season. In November of 1991, he got AIDS. I was alive and witnessed it. He didn't play November 91, December of 91 or January of 92. At the end of January 92, he began practicing on his own because other players did not want to play with him because of the AIDS. In February of 92, he played in the All Star Game and WON THE MVP OF THE ALL STAR GAME. Then in July 92 he went to the Olympics.

Who is Curry guarding? Embid couldn't handle either center. He's big but he doesn't like banging. Guys back then were use to banging and they had a ton of post moves. Adobyu or however you spell his name would be matched up with Malone or Barkley. I think the physicality of and toughness of 92 would give 24 fits. I think 24 is more favorites while 92 was about winning only. Jordan was the favorite but his was by far the best on the team.

To be fair the present 2024 USA basketball would have a much unsuccessful harder time playing the physical and mental 90s style basketball against the Original DreamTeam. Factoring in the mental and physical skills adjustableity of the Original DreamTeam playing today's style basketball would demolish any present day opponents by 50 plus points. Also available were Shaquille center, Tim Hardaway Mark Price three points shooters Dennis Rodman defense rebound specialists. Along with a healthy Larry Bird all in their prime.
One thing Michael Jordan completely changed his approach and style of play to persificly to win 8 plus NBA championships. So the would have a much easier time adjusting to the new rules and winning.
