I drove (solo) from Austin Texas to Greensboro North Carolina and back again for Christmas one year . As a family we took many road trips to wdw with toddlers in tow Now days well we still take road trips with (grand) toddlers in tow. A family who travels together will always travel together-this is our motto Your boys are sooo adorable
I can't thank you enough for this video. I am 74, my son, 50, he drives with me from Ontario Canada to our winter place in Florida each fall. We take this route, stop along the way at Disney. ( later my hubby flies down ) Its just a great time with my son and I. And of course, not happening this year. Sadly no going across the border. Seeing all the different places, just brought a lovely memory. Especially, Brunswick Ga. Its that last stop before we head to Disney the next day. Missing my time very much this year. Thanks again !! Best video!
I will be out of work come December after 30 years with the same retail company. So, instead of being sad & depressed my husband & I are taking a month long road trip out West. I've made an itinerary & we're going to do parts of route 66. I am normally prefer to fly but we have a 4 year old...dog that we don't want to board out that long. He would be heart broken. So, we shall see how I do riding for 8 hours a day in the car!!😄
We did a kinda big adventure like that. When our kids were 5 and 7 we drove from Cincinnati, Ohio to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, The Badlands National Parks and to Mount Rushmore. It was about a week and half adventure. Lots of movies on video players, looking different types of vehicles, playgrounds that were at rest areas out west just to name a few things we did. We also stopped at some unique places like The Corn Palace, Wall’s Drug, and many others. It was one of our favorite trips.
Our favorite trips are Arizona to ABQ NM & Arizona to San Francisco. We've done more. We where supposed to travel this year in April but , bc of the obvious we did not. I really enjoyed your long , long , long , long , long drive there. That's an adventure. You guys did as family woo hoo !!! Get iT !! 🥳
You survived!! I knew you would :) I had to chuckle when you mentioned Fredericksburg, VA - that's where I left to move to southern California for Disney. I had to chuckle when you were referring to the scenery. When I first moved to VA and drove south, all I kept thinking (and as Ashley said) was "Just trees!" Nothing but trees to look at! Our biggest adventure was driving from Oregon to Orlando with a van that broke down every 300-400 miles during the summer with no A/C (me, my late husband and our 5 kids ages 1-16). So many memories on that journey!
As a kid from Maryland we always used to yell and say "We See The Castle". The 13:48 mark reminded me of that memory. DMV traffic is a mess. We usually say once you get passed Richmond VA the rest of your trip is easy. I hope you are get to enjoy a bunch of special memories as a family. I can't wait to see what else you all post form this trip. Your videos are always a positive note in the day. :-)
My husband and I drove down in July for our vacation! It was the first time we’ve ever driven down. We live in Massachusetts just south of the New Hampshire border so it was almost the exact same drive. We liked it, it does get so easy once you pass DC! We didn’t realize how much the stopping really adds on, so now we know to add 15-30 minutes for each stop. We drove in one go on the way down and on the way home we stopped in NC. There’s so many rest stops and gas stations that it made it so much easier. I’m glad you guys made it down! Have fun in Disney! Also the best adventure I’ve been on was when I got to go to England for 2 months for work. I’d love to go back someday and explore more.
Thanks for taking us along on your road trip! Looks like overall it was a very smooth, successful trip. You have great kids. Lee making Dennis belly laugh is priceless. I hope you’re enjoying your home away from home!!
We always drive from Texas to WDW and it’s about 1200 miles. It’s a wonderful part of our vacation! I’m so happy y’all are having this experience. Thanks again for sharing. ❤️
We did the drive from Maine to FL to move in August. Our boys were 3 and 1 1/2 years old at the time. We are still getting settled and sorting out house and car stuff but we cannot wait to be able to enjoy the Disney of FL. The drive was crazy, not fun...but we did it!
ahhh the clip of the veterans memorial bridge in new haven! so crazy to think of you guys driving through where I live. really is a small world. can’t wait for more of your adventure
This is a great idea! We also live in New England. My husband is working from home and my son is doing remote learning. We could do this from anywhere as well. The best adventure we ever took was moving from MA to Georgia for 6 amazing years. Last year it was finally time to return home and be closer to family. Hope your time in FL is just as fun!
A friend and I drove from Oklahoma to Virginia Beach to see her fiance. We drove straight through and had a great trip. We were in our early 20's and it was only the first time either of us had driven on that kind of a road trip. Now I'm older and road trips are not such an appeal but I'm glad I took that one and others with my family when I was younger.
If I were to go on an adventure right now, I would go back to the Disney parks while following all the safety procedures, I miss them so much and I can’t wait to be back when I can!
I took a cross country train trip with my son. Best trip ever! Massachusetts to Utah! Two years later we did a cross country road trip, Massachusetts to South Carolina then across to Arizona. That was an adventure! Next I’d love to take a ferry to Hawaii and live there for a short time!
So fun to watch your journey! We recently moved to FL from NJ. We actually were at McGuire Air Force Base, which wasn't too far from Cherry Hill (it was fun to see the Delaware Bridge again in your video since we would cross it all the time to go to the Philly Zoo). Our greatest adventure so far was that move! We also vlogged it, to have those memories. It was interesting traveling during the times now, because of all the precautions and a lot of the travel stops were limited when we came down. So to see you sitting in the parking lot eating subway with Lee was a lot like us with the kids. It was a long trip, but we also had a lot of fun.
What a wonderful road trip. Your roads are great, easy to drive. My wildest adventure has to be the one flying from Sydney to San Francisco with an 11 hour lay over, then off to Spokane, Washington. Sydney was 104º F. And Spokane was 5º F!!! Quite a difference in temperature! My suitcase was full of sweaters and warm clothes on one side and summer tops on the other! The jet lag was awful!! But I survived!
Also, it makes me sad that we were supposed to be at WDW this past week. 😕 But if circumstances were right for us to be there from Canada, your family would not be on this adventure. 😉
What a fun trip! Thanks for taking us along! It reminds me of the days that my family and I would drive down from Massachusetts to Florida for Disney World vacations. Hope y'all are having a blast!
Having driven to Florida every year since our girls were 2 & 6 from PA your drivr is VERY familiar. Usually stop in Emporia on our way home and Savannah on the way down. Will be doing the trip in exactly 1 month! This time driving straight through (leaving around 4 am)
So glad you all made it safe! Its funny to think how close I was to you guys as the turnpike goes through my town, hope the rest of your staycation goes well, you all are very inspiring.
Awesome video! I live just outside of Florence in Darlington South Carolina and we always drive when we go to Disney World. How exciting to be staying 6 weeks in Orlando. I hope you guys have a great time. Enjoy!
This video made me crack up because of you guys passing the American Dream Mall right across from my office and about five minute from my house. And then when you stopped for lunch the next day in Laural MD I have family about 10 minutes from there. It was so funny to know exactly the places you were.
Loved this video! It may have been a difficult ride but you guys made it and it was the first step in your big adventure! My biggest adventure was travelling by myself from the UK to the US to spend the summer working and living abroad. I spent 3 months away from home and it was the most rewarding experience of my life. One day I would love to go to Shanghai, Tokyo and Hong Kong Disneyland! Excited to see more from you :)
Glad the drive wasn't as bad as you feared! I'd say my favourite adventure has to be when my husband and I went to South Korea and Japan last year - was totally out of our comfort zones but we loved every single moment of it. And of course we made sure to swing by Tokyo Disneyland Resort while we were there which was just Disney on a whole other level 🤯 Loving watching your adventures while you're down in Florida!
I loved watching this video! I go to school in Rhode Island and live in Georgia, so I’ve made this drive quite a few times (and a similar one when we visit family in Vermont). I have been loving following along on your Orlando adventures! This is definitely an adventure I’d like to take! I could never live in Florida long term, but for a few weeks would be amazing!
Glad you guys reached your destination safely. I live in Florence S.C. and was glad to hear that you stayed here overnight. My family and I are coming to Disney next week. Who knows maybe we'll run into you and your family in the parks. Love your new channel and I'm a long time viewer of See Ya Reel Soon. Keep up the good work, and enjoy your new adventure!!
The music references are amazing in this video! 🤣 I love it! Although I feel like the ball was dropped on the “Welcome to my house” by Flo Rida 😆 We’ve done the drive from WI to FL once when my daughter was 3, otherwise we have flown. It was for sure a memorable experience. Although we love road trips, and I can’t wait to do more when it’s easier to do so.
If you swing by Edison on your way back, there is a GREAT deli there called Harold's- it's kinda expensive, but the portions are HUMONGOUS and can easily feed multiple people. And their health salad (cabbage with carrot, cucumber, onion, and bell pepper in a sweet vinegar) is delicious!
Sure seems like you guys all did great! The total drive time seemed daunting at first but you guys sure made it seem easy! Very excited to follow along with your adventures! Have been enjoying the videos on your other channel too!
I loved this vlog!! We are in Manitoba, Canada. We have had fairly strict travel restrictions. Our border has been closed for over 6 months. We are missing our USA adventures, but are hoping 2021 will be a Disney year for us. Until then, thanks for letting us live vicariously through you.❤
I LOVE road trip videos! So, so, so much fun! Oh, y'all have to stop at a roadside stand for boiled peanuts in South Carolina! I'm a Virginia girl born and raised, but my grandmother is from South Carolina and she got me hooked on them from a super young age...and, the ones from a roadside stand are the best!!
Best adventure by far was making the drive to Orlando from Chicago last summer. It was our 1st family road trip. I too had fears surrounding the expectations (especially when we learned very early on our 2 year old gets very car sick.....frequently 😵), but it was well worth it. Our kids had a blast and we can't wait till we are able to do it again.
Thank you for sharing your travel adventures! We are thinking about driving to Disney instead of flying in March 2020 with our toddler depending on how things are then. This video makes me feel better about traveling with a little one. Hope you and your family have so much fun while in Florida!
So fun!🥰 I’ve taken many road trips following your route, and it was fun to see my favorite Disney vlogging family in such familiar places! Fredericksburg traffic is always the worst - one time we were stopped there for four hours!! 😱 I can’t wait to see more of your adventures!
Oh gosh! I admire you guys! We have done the drive many times from Central NJ. And we plan to do it again this December (not interested in flying in a Pandemic) But our kids are older. Looks like you had a good time!!!
Yay! I'm so glad you had a safe trip! My family and I hope to be able to head down to Florida (by plane, we live in PA, and have driven, the worst thing for us) in December for my birthday! Love the video!
Once we have baby #3 and our second child is over 2, we are most likely going to start driving from NY to FL since the flights are SO expensive! This gives me hope it can be done! We are also thinking of driving to Hilton head SC next summer, (a 12 hour drive) and we will have a 4 year old, 2 year old and a 5 month old. Are we crazy???
When I go to FL with my aunt and my cousins we always drive (From MA), and we come up with fun little games to entertain ourselves. Did you and Joe do that?
You made it!! My daughter absolutely hates long car rides, I think it has to do with not much driving due to covid. I like the idea of an iPad for her to keep busy though!
I need tips! I have an almost 16 month old that hates his car seat so much. Next month we have to drive to upstate NY for Thanksgiving (7-8ish hours without stops). What did you use to entertain Dennis on the trip?
We road-tripped from Tennessee to Maine last year which was a really cool experience. We got to see humpback whales in the wild while we were there. I'm hoping to do a family road trip out west at some point!
Did you guys stop at South of the Border? That’s always a must for us 🤣 we live in NC but my husband is from NY. We always joke about how much easier the drive south is compared to going up north. And rest areas are way easier than service stations
We always used to drive from Maine to Orlando for Disney trips. It was so much fun! We’d leave at night so we got to stay up late and we got little prizes to keep us entertained. I miss those trips! Of course, I wasn’t the one driving straight through, so it was way more fun for me. 🤣 gonna hopefully manage a long drive with my 3 year old next year, so will be interested to see your tips!
Considering the vehicle loving nature of Lee, this may have been the absolute best time to take a road trip.
I drove (solo) from Austin Texas to Greensboro North Carolina and back again for Christmas one year .
As a family we took many road trips to wdw with toddlers in tow
Now days well we still take road trips with (grand) toddlers in tow.

I watched this purposely on Father's day to hear Lee calling out the big twucks ! You guys are the absolute best !!

😂 I fully expected Joe to bust out “Baby you a song, you make me wanna roll my windows down and cruuuuuise!” at the Florida Georgia line!
Also, it makes me sad that we were supposed to be at WDW this past week. 😕 But if circumstances were right for us to be there from Canada, your family would not be on this adventure. 😉

Lol! I live in Northern Virginia. DC area down to Fredericksburg is the worst unless you go about 2am. After that, it's smooth sailing.
ashley .. i loved when lee said walmart .. bc i work for walmart!!! :)
I really enjoy your videos. What a sweet family you guys have.
Loved this video! It may have been a difficult ride but you guys made it and it was the first step in your big adventure! Driving right through Jacksonville, Fl downtown....I am so sorry! 😂 I’ve lived here all my life and I absolutely hate our roads!
This was so lovely to watch ❤️❤️
Watching this awesome adventure really makes me want to pickup and just work someplace else for 6 weeks! I hope y’all are having a fantastic time!
Glad you guys reached your destination safely. I live in Florence S.C. and was glad to hear that you stayed here overnight.

Lee needs an auto bingo game for the ride home!
Edison is in my neck of the woods! Really surprised me when you mentioned it ha. Glad you made it safe!

I can't find you 2 anymore. I hope all is okay. I really enjoyed your content.
Lee is growing up to be such a big man! so happy to see the journey guys :)

My godparents when they were more able - took a train down with their car. That is a lot of driving but thankfully you all got their safe.
So fun!🥰 I’ve taken many road trips following your route, and it was fun to see my favorite Disney vlogging family in such familiar places! Fredericksburg traffic is always the worst - one time we were stopped there for four hours!! 😱 I can’t wait to see more of your adventures!
I've taken the trip from nh to sc and Florida a few times fun ride.
I’m considering doing a road trip from Kansas to WDW with my daughters. Loved watching your adventure!
Glad you all made it to Florida safe. Have a great time down there. :)
Oh gosh! I admire you guys! We have done the drive many times from Central NJ. And we plan to do it again this December (not interested in flying in a Pandemic) But our kids are older. Looks like you had a good time!!!
Love Love Love
Love watching your video
I live just off exit 36 of 95 in Milford ct. You drove right past our house lol
Yay! I'm so glad you had a safe trip! My family and I hope to be able to head down to Florida (by plane, we live in PA, and have driven, the worst thing for us) in December for my birthday! Love the video!
That will be such a magical birthday! I hope it works out! -- K

Good strategy.
I avoid the GWB and take the Tappen Zee.
When I go to FL with my aunt and my cousins we always drive (From MA), and we come up with fun little games to entertain ourselves. Did you and Joe do that?
Best adventure so far with my kids, we took them to England! Their first time on a plane was 10hrs 🙈 Loved watching your road trip!
You made it!! My daughter absolutely hates long car rides, I think it has to do with not much driving due to covid. I like the idea of an iPad for her to keep busy though!
Did y’all consider taking the autotrain? 🚞 That may be fun for Lee for the way home. 🙂
What is that background song called? I love it
I waved when you passed by Exit 53 in SC! Did you see me? ;) My brother lives in Florence!
Details on your engagement and wedding rings?! Love love love ❤️
Where are you guys? I miss you!
My family is in new Hampshire
Did you guys stop at South of the Border? That’s always a must for us 🤣 we live in NC but my husband is from NY. We always joke about how much easier the drive south is compared to going up north. And rest areas are way easier than service stations
We love visiting Pedro!
We've made the drive, many times, from Philadelphia to New Hampshire and back, but never with 2 toddlers, yikes!
You guys are so cute
We always used to drive from Maine to Orlando for Disney trips. It was so much fun! We’d leave at night so we got to stay up late and we got little prizes to keep us entertained. I miss those trips! Of course, I wasn’t the one driving straight through, so it was way more fun for me. 🤣 gonna hopefully manage a long drive with my 3 year old next year, so will be interested to see your tips!
