I finally got a min to watch this and I'm only a few mins in and I'm in tears. In a good way. Thank you for sharing this. I feel like a failure most days with a one year old trying to keep the house together, cook, clean, keep the baby happy and healthy, etc. You really only see the "perfect houses". I love this channel ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ashley, I’m like 3 minutes into the video and I’m so happy that you’ve made the lemonade stand. It’s been an absolute blast getting to learn more about you and your family, just in case you were wondering. :)
I love all of your videos, but things like this really warm my heart. I find working from home a bit quiet/lonely so its lovely to have you on in the background talking away whilst I work! You’re so down to earth and real, it’s so refreshing to see on TH-cam. People should do more of this, rather than having people think they live in show homes where everything is white. No one can live like that and it makes people feel bad when we pretend they do. I am laughing so hard that I personally own two of the hats you have in ‘kids hats’ and at 40, I wear them myself 😂🤦🏻♀️ I LOVE a good spring clean. I’m off work for a couple of weeks soon, so maybe I’ll have a clear out then. There are two of us in a one bed apartment so we have no room for anything. I’m lucky I have an attic (which is FULL) but even trying to find somewhere to work is hard. I managed to fit a desk into a closet not much bigger than your pantry (UK homes are much smaller 😂) but i prefer that because at the end of the day I’m not still looking at work stuff in the living room. We all make do with what we have and shouldn’t put ourselves down for it.
Function over "fashion" is the way to go! Whatever works best for your family will keep you happy in the long run. Our home has been in disarray for a while, and it is slowly coming together. We moved over the summer and spent all of our free time doing outdoor maintenance and clean up. Now that the holidays are over, we are begining to finish unpacking and organizing our space. It has felt good to get back to "normal" (if that is even a possibility nowadays haha!).
Thank you for the motivation Ashley! We always get so sad when the Christmas season comes to a close. We keep it going as long as possible, but it is hard when all around you, everyone is done with it. We have been wanting a good refresh in our small house for a long time so we are hoping to get to that this year. 😁
I consistently tell my friends about how much I love your channel (and SeeYaReelSoon) because of how authentic and one of a kind you are. You are always a source of encouragement and light! This video was no exception (and now I'm in the mood to organize)
I appreciate you sharing your real life stuff! It's what all of us busy Moms deal with no matter what season of life we are in. One thing I have found very helpful with kids' clothes and moving in/out seasons and sizes is.... I try and stay one size ahead and start filling 2 bins (one for winter and one for summer) for each child. As soon as one grows out of a size, I either sell the whole lot on marketplace (for my 13 yr. old boy and 7 yr. old girl who is my youngest) or put my other Daughter's (age 10) clothes in 2 separate bins until my youngest is ready to wear. The only down side to doing this is you need some shelf space or storage space to store these bins. I never have to worry about buying last minute for the next season, I just pull that bin out and replace. I have also found this is easier the younger they are and I can get away with picking out clothes for them. As they have gotten older, they have become more picky in style and what type of clothes they will wear....so, I know this won't work forever, but for now....it's been really nice and keeps me somewhat organized in that area. Keep doing what works for your family, because in the end....that's all that matters!! You are a wonderful Mom, wife, and person and all they will ever remember is how much they love us and how much they were loved!!!!
Oh my goodness Ashley I appreciate this so much! Remember, no one lives in those magazine houses ;) your home is lived in and loved in and that's what matters! Also, little shoes on the floor is the sweetest kind of mess.
Ashley, girl I just love you!! You're so authentic and super relatable and it's been so cool to get to know you better on this new channel! I JUST reorganized my pantry last week and have also been cleaning and decluttering my house. You're so right that we shouldn't compare ourselves to others because it can make you feel much worse or so guilty about how much motivation you have to keep up with everything at home. We are all different, and our homes are so different and there's no good reason to beat ourselves up on the organization and cleanliness or lack thereof. I appreciate so much how transparent you allow yourself to be through social media. Please never stop being the real you!!
dont apologize for the food you have, it makes less trips to a grocery store! Just run for produce and fresh stuff, but you are doing great keeping the basics stocked! Excellent job on this video Ashley!!! LOVE IT
I love your kitchen and pantry! My kitchen is ridiculously small and I credibly uncomfortable. My “pantry” just a little closet type of furniture is old, very, very old and small. I usually shop at Costco, so all my stuff is in the guest room, which is more a wear-house! Lol. It’s almost always very hot here, just a few days a year we feel cold, so I have no problems switching shoes nor clothes. And my husband is 65 and I am 63, so we try to stay home all the time. Your house looks like a normal-lived home with two young kids! Congratulations!
Thanks Ashley for sharing this with us! You are so real and down to earth, and it makes me not feel so bad about my own organization problems, as compared with some of the other seemingly perfect homes of other mommy TH-camrs out there. In our basement we have what my kids call our "stockpile" of overflow and extra pantry items on shelving down there. Thank goodness for that space down there, otherwise I don't know what I would do with that stuff!
Thank you for sharing this video, Ashley! Your openness and candor are so refreshing and comforting. I feel you on the struggle or guilt of not having a magazine ready pantry or kitchen or whole home for that matter. I constantly have to remind myself that I have little kids and that it would not be realistic for our current lifestyle to keep up something like that on a consistent basis. I’m sure there are some people out there who could, but I’m not one of them. My house is currently in shambles trying to get all the holiday decor put away, organizing closets, etc. Glad to know I’m not alone. Also - we do the same thing when buying clothes for the girls - usually buy a size too big to get two seasons out of them if possible. One winter they might have sleeves and cuffs rolled up, then the next year the clothes fit just fine. Their Christmas pjs from this year look like we might get two or three years out of them because they were so big 😆 Hope you are all doing well! -Jen
Hi Ashley, I do believe that a home is a home not a show house! We have recently had our house up for sale so have been keeping it neat and tidy for viewings all the time. Let me tell you, it was Exhausting! No thank you, and anyway who cares were the only ones living in it!!😀
Vicarious Grandpa here - I love your house because it looks just the way the home of little kids should look. It's a proven scientific fact that children raised in immaculate and sterile homes go on to become serial killers later in life. My grandma had a small sign in her kitchen: My house is clean enough to be healthy, but dirty enough to be happy. Well said, Grandma!
Just did a big overhaul of our front closet so there is an adult coat rack and a kids one and now just need another or bigger shoe rack. Now we have 6 brooms sitting there too because when my husband can’t find one he just buys another even though they were all just sitting right there. I gave away 3 LARGE boxes of clothes and toys before Christmas and there is still so much more that needs to go. We bought a much bigger house than we had before when we moved last year and some of it is nice and other areas it’s just a place for more stuff. I’m glad someone else understands the mental tax of the mess, especially since I work from home now it’s important to A. Keep the clutter out of my office and B. Keep my commute to the office clean. Right now the priority is finishing remodeling of our bathroom. It’s SO CLOSE but I’m also dreading it because then we will need to move on to the next one (we found rotted floors around the drain). I could go on and on and on but thank you, it’s ok to want a clean house and it’s ok to have toys everywhere do what you’re happy and comfortable with (but please just pick up your socks so the dog doesn’t eat them).
Hey Ashley, I love the Lemonade stand and watch your videos all the time. We I stalled a pantry door shelf on the inside of our pantry door and I love it. Gave us more storage options in our pantry.
Ashley, I am a mother of 4, my children are grown so believe me, I have been there with having messy areas. I would tell my girlfriends, "If you want to come over and see me, come anytime, but if you are coming to look at my house, make an appointment". Ha - Also, if your house was perfect, then what kind of mother would you be for your boys? Enjoy those boys, the housework will always be there, but the boys will grow up. Now I have to clean out my closets! Thank you for the boost. I have the time now, but do not want to do anything. LOL
I remember in February my mom made me clean her pantry and I was NOT excited because her pantry is pretty big, but it ended up being one of the most relaxing things EVER. My house has adapted and honestly, I love being able to be flexible in a house, it makes it so much more comforting.
Thank you for opening up your home and cupboards to share your organizing! I always enjoying watching others organize (no matter what the mess looks like ;-) ). I find it encouraging! I would really like to widdle down my closet. I have a lot of clothes, and I am starting to lack the space as my collection grows. I love clothes and different outfits, so I am having trouble getting up the motivation. In the past, I have turned all my hangers to face the opposite direction in January. Then, throughout the year as you wear the clothes, you hang it back up in the correct direction. By December, you can see which clothes you have worn based on the way the hook of the hanger is hanging. I would donate anything that I did not wear in a year, but I stopped this practice for, well, simple laziness I think. I would like to do this again, but I think I have become too attached to my clothes which sounds silly to say. Here's to a new year, and hopefully, I can think of others less fortunate and share my blessings.
This makes me laugh because what Mom isn’t frazzled by all this?! Putting away the groceries becomes a massive Tetris game! The day after Christmas should be called “now where do I put this crap!??” day?!? I am always looking for a day to clean a closet! You are an amazing Mom and posting this calms my head knowing that we all battle this.
I know what you mean about the allergy stock ups and accidentally going overboard! My son has an egg allergy and we had thankfully just gotten back from a trip and restocked our pantry right before panic buying started in our area. But we definitely had to keep an eye out for certain favorite products as the year progressed. Balancing four different diets for your household has to be a challenge but it looks like you've got it down to a science!
Thank you for always keeping it real! I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant, and in major nesting mode. Trying to get the nursery ready, and also organize and get some repairs done around the house while I still have the time and energy.
Our holidays went great. We are trying to take down the remaining items from our Christmas decorations. I love watching your videos! Keep doing what you are doing!
Great video! I definitely got a bit of pantry envy watching as we don't have a pantry in our home. We store extra food that doesn't fit in our kitchen down in our garage. Your video has inspired me to organize our entry area as it's currently overcome with coats, hats, scarves etc as my daughter likes to match her outfits and needs all items handy haha. I'm otherwise happy with our space and how it's organized. I spent a good chunk of my Christmas break organizing. I'm particularly pleased with the reorganizing and redecorating I did of my home office. Feels so much nicer and positive to work there now!
Ashley, my space is as messy as my life haha! thank you for sharing your life with and for reminding us that we need not compare and criticize each other
Lovely video! Love watching how other moms organize things. We use those cereal containers for kids' snacks, and they work well. We put them down low for our older one to grab his own snack/help our little one.
Girl I get it. I’m a little ocd but also have a 9 month old and a 3 year old so my house is rarely up to the cleaning/organization my ocd tendencies would like.
We are a household of adults (my senior citizen parents live with me) so we pretty much limited Christmas to just a few (5) gifts each and we did either practical gifts (slippers, replaced a few work/home items, clothes) or edible (specialty honey/maple syrup, fav candies). We also did a purge of items over the days I was off work, so the stuff we replaced or don't use went to the local charity shop. As adults we don't need a lot. But probably harder for families with littles.
excellent advice!! We are a fam of 4, 2 young adult boys and from the time we they were born we always did the 3 gifts each for christmas. Cut down on expenses and cut down on clutter. They got from Grandparents and their aunt/uncle but from us it was 3 gifts each and Santa always filled the stockings and left one gift. Less is more for sure!
Yes...I watched the whole thing. And organizing is my love language. My house is not magazine organized either. We have 5 girls ages 11-18 and it’s “organized chaos” lol. As they say...the kids won’t remember which organization system you used in the pantry but the fun you had playing in the snow. So, my advice, keep it neat enough that it doesn’t give you anxiety but give yourself LOTS of grace. You’re doing great!!! Much love from KY! ❤️
Also, our oldest are graduating high school this May and moving off to college in August. Your video where you put away Dennis’ baby clothes really tugged this momma’s heart strings! They really do grow up fast. 😢
Yes! This is the balance I’m striving for. I want to prioritize quality family time, while managing a home that is a safe, calming, welcoming home. You get it!
@@AshleysLemonadeStand For sure! And if you’re anything like me you put too much pressure on yourself. The “mess” that is living in a house full of people bothers you more than any of your boys. I think we sometimes have unrealistic expectations. We wouldn’t blink an eye if we saw another moms house like ours. We tend to give others grace we don’t allow ourselves. I’ve been watching you and Joey from the beginning days of SYRS. And I think I can say with 100% confidence that you’re a fantastic person - all around. So, keep being you sweet Ashley. You have a whole tribe behind you, cheering you on. ❤️ Enjoy your weekend with that sweet house full of love!
This was such a great video Ashley! I love how you keep it real, we all appreciate that! I will validate the “mess” in the beginning of the video...it can be overwhelming when you look around at it all. But!!...you just roll up the sleeves and get to work. FANTASTIC job at organizing those two closets...now it will not have to be done for another year or two! I am always for a home that is functional and lived in. We all want that clean organized look, but it’s just not practical most of the time, especially with children. You have an incredibly beautiful home! It is very well maintained yet fully lived in❤️ My house is pretty organized, but I am affording days during the week where my daughter is with her mom and I am the only one in the house. So I am afforded the time to clean up and get things organized. Then my daughter comes back and BOOM!!!.....it’s like a tornado hits😂 But that is life...and it’s beautiful. Thank you for sharing Ashley!!! Can’t wait to see more!! P.S. I saw the SYRS Baymax hat and the other fedora you wore on one of your Disney trips!
Enjoyed watching, Ashley! You mentioned making sauce with the canned tomatoes. Would love for you to show us sometime how you make a good italian sauce! Because honestly, I just buy jars of Prego! haha! You've inspired me to clean out our pantry as well!
You have absolutely motivated me! This is the time of year we like to organize as well! Happy Christmas Eve Eve! Better yet - Happy New Year! CHEERS to 2021 🍾🎉
Ashley this was great! I'm someone who finds cleaning and purging my house cathartic so I love these kinds of videos. I think you did a fantastic job with your organizing and you use some of my favorite hacks (like using a lazy susan). I'm going to share a saying one of my cleaning/organizing TH-camr favorites (Kathyrn from Do it on a Dime) says "A done something, is better than a perfect nothing."
Loves your video....again! Constantly telling my husband I think we were supposed to be best friends but ended up in different states 😂 thank you for the foam in the pantry idea! Love that and needed something for the smaller items that fall through the wire shelves.
This was so amazing to watch! I love cleaning and this inspired me to get going and cleaning out my room! I have to say I laughed SO hard when you said mamma says no to Dennis and he grabbed the camera right after!!! Hahahaha!! Such precious moments!
Watching this laughing I just did the same thing. We should have done a "live" party going over my expired products and wondering when, where and why I bought some of the things in my pantry was a riot at my house..I mean who buys things like Chipotle Strawberry Marinade or corned beef in a can
Yes! We all get overwhelmed sometimes! Thank you for taking us along with you and giving me some motivation ❤️
Wow a real woman being real in TH-cam... Thats why we love Ashley x

It is very well maintained yet fully lived in❤️
My house is pretty organized, but I am affording days during the week where my daughter is with her mom and I am the only one in the house.
Lovely video. I find it impossible to keep the home pristine. Love your real videos : ) Happy New Year!
This was so much fun to watch! Thank you, Ashley!
You are amazing! Love these videos!
Denis is the cutest!!
I enjoyed this video! Definitely inspired me to clean up some, and buy a shoe rack! Lol.
Yay! Love it
This gave me such organizing inspiration! Time to go organize my pantry & kitchen! You’re such a kind person, Ashley 💛
Came here from "See Ya...". You have a new sub!
They had a whole aisle of Pastene products in Market Basket when I went shopping this morning. We have used it many times to make sauce.
Loves your video....again! Constantly telling my husband I think we were supposed to be best friends but ended up in different states 😂 thank you for the foam in the pantry idea! Love that and needed something for the smaller items that fall through the wire shelves.
Loved*
This was so amazing to watch! I love cleaning and this inspired me to get going and cleaning out my room! I have to say I laughed SO hard when you said mamma says no to Dennis and he grabbed the camera right after!!! Hahahaha!! Such precious moments!
When I clean my pantry, (or car, or office) it MIGHT be "magazine-looking" for MAYBE a day or two, then slowly becomes "real" and "lived-in" again.
Watching this laughing I just did the same thing. We should have done a "live" party going over my expired products and wondering when, where and why I bought some of the things in my pantry was a riot at my house..I mean who buys things like Chipotle Strawberry Marinade or corned beef in a can
Thank you for being so real!
