I feel bad when people choose to rescue/adopt an active dog like a lab, not exercise it and not let it run and play, and then say they can't handle the rambunctiousness :( But I am so so happy he finally found a mom that understands well what he needs to be happy and healthy. Lots of love!
This is why I dont like terms like "adopt dont shop", "rescues are so grateful.", "It's cheaper then buying a puppy" and "they're already trained". It's leads to people impulsively buying rescues without research and preparation or just buying them for the wrong reasons. I knew a person once who returned the dog after being bit because they didn't listen to the rescue when they told them he was food aggressive due to the situation they rescued him from. I asked what the hell happened and this uneducated dumb@$$ thought that because recipes are "grateful" that the food aggressiveness was just going to go away. Obviously people should 100% adopt of they can but people need to work more on spreading education on breeds and some of the difficulties that can come with the dogs trauma as well as general dog care then just spouting promotional rhetoric. Less dogs would be returned that way.
