      @@cecekitty4452 and then there are carriers where they aren't even affected. Kids are a good example of this. So many have been infected and haven't had any symptoms, and bring it home to their parents. They think kids spread the diseases a lot in the early stages because no one knew they had contacted it.
      There's only a few people who have had it and had no symptoms as well. I think those cases were on the ships ... They had one or two people get tested as positive and they were completely baffled as felt acapella l absolutely fine.
      And then there's been people so sure that had it but didn't have the symptoms yet. I think it was a husband to a lady on a cruise ship. That guy had been in direct contact with a lot of people, especially his wife who had the virus and somehow he tested back negative.
      There's also what's happening in South Africa atm. The disease is slowing down there even though they didn't go into lock down yet. People were out and about and weren't getting the virus. Or if they did it was really mild. They have theories it could be something to do with the malaria vaccine that people have had there, or it could even be the hot temperature slowing the virus.
      But if that's the case then that sucks for where I live - Australia. We are heading into our winter.
      But it could be something to do with it. QLD is less affected then NSW and Victoria. But then again, those states have been slower to lock down... And Sydney just let a cruise ship dock. I mean wtf. It went up 300 and had so many more deaths since that!!
      It could also be the case of the fact Melbourne and Sydney are very close together where as Brisbane is very spaced out and it's easier to isolate people.
      But that's exactly why it has affected Italy, Greece and Spain so much! Their culture is based on clients closeness! Everyone lives in houses together, or are huge on community. They hug and kiss a lot more... And Italy and Greece has more elderly that come into contact with people so they have all been infected over there

This way not everyone will get critically ill at the same time and will allow the health care system to treat everyone.

      The largest difference is whether it invades the lungs; if it stays in the upper respiratory tract, you have truly mild symptoms. A cough, a sore throat, etc. If it successfully invades your lungsz however, you will develop pneomonia, regardless of how healthy you are. At this point, regardless of how healthy you are, you have developed a potentially life threstening illness.

      @svonkie 4 ปีที่แล้ว +39

      She is completely typical. The vast majority of people with the virus show no or few symptoms. My county has had nearly 200 people diagnosed with COVID. I had very mild symptoms and didn't even bother going to my doctor. There are always a few terrible exceptions with flu. They are not covered 24/7 by the news. This is many times more lethal than the flu, but still, the vast, vast majority of people have nothing to worry about. People who are getting very ill are almost always either old or have secondary health risks. There are also many people in the US who are not old and do not have secondary health risks, but take terrible care of themselves - eat poorly, don't exercise, obese - and of course they will be at higher risk. I guarantee that many, many, many more people in the twenties, thirties and forties will die by suicide because of financial distress than the number of people killed by this virus.

    • @ChrisZ70
      @ChrisZ70 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@svonkie Yeah, it's the financial distress that I'm most concerned about. My heart aches for those who've been impacted negatively financially because they can't go to work due to the shutdowns. I'm not worried about the virus itself. I wonder how many of those with more serious symptoms are smokers. I also suspect that a difference in immune system strength is the cause of different symptom experiences. It is related to gut bacteria. If you have a healthy microbiome, your immune system is going to function better, and that depends a lot on what you've been eating, whether you breathe through your nose or your mouth, etc.

      It is true that anyone can get it, but it is not true that anyone can just randomly die from it (even if it appears that way from the outside). Your immune system is your body's built in defense, and if a mere coronavirus easily kills you, then that means your immune system failed, thus you were technically not "healthy" no matter how much you convince yourself otherwise. Every person that died from this got ravaged by the virus because their immune system was not strong enough to fight it and it's not their fault; however, this misinformation about "healthy" people dying is just untrue rubbish designed to invoke fear in people who are unbothered. Please stay safe and aware.

      The other reason people are buying so much toilet paper is because more time at home. All the toilet paper that is ordinarily used out at public places isn't being used nearly as much. The overall consumption pattern has changed which shifted demand for toilet from something that was pretty stable. It would cost a whole lot for companies that produce and distribute toilet paper to change their process when in a few weeks/months whatever it'll shift right back. There are places to buy the toilet paper that would ordinarily go to restaurants and other public places. It won't be the same but the lack of regular household toilet paper isn't solely because of panic and hoarding.

Some get a mild cold, others get pneumonia, while others get a flu or a fever, and will get nausea. I for myself live in New York and got a terrible flu like symptoms with high fever for 3 days in mid February. I still to this I do not know if I had the covid 19 because I recovered from home and didn't get tested. Many people may have this experience and dont report it as a confirmed case so the news network will not know about the mild cases.

      Masks i guess they do keep us safe from the water droplet spread. The virus is actually too big unlike others to fit through. I am only preparing for mandatory lockdown. And getting right with God through Jesus Christ. Washing my hands. Wearing a mask when going out. Its all that is needed. More than enough. My cup runs over.

      She said she believes she had it. She got sick when things were still operating normally in the States. She never got properly tested because it wasn't available to her at the time and her only recourse was to do the Seattle Flu Study which asks people to submit a swab if they think they got the flu. At that time (late February) "coronavirus" was also started to be tested as part of the study, but I haven't read anywhere if they specifically tested for SARS-CoV 2 (the specific coronavirus that is causing the currently pandemic).
      Long story short we don't really know if she actually contracted Covid-19 or another coronavirus that made her sick.
      Anyway we should have been prepared already when she got sick and she should have been able to get a proper test as people in power knew what was coming as early as January.

    I think i got it back in January, my routine back then was to go through Chinatown every day to order a green tea and egg pastry, and there was a week at work where everyone was also sick so it could have been at either place. I thought it was the flu, i was given an antibiotic, rested 3 days at home, went back to work. But 2 days later (5 days after cold) i had a nauseated feeling with lots of coughing. A few days later i had a 105 degree fever, and didn't eat for 3 days. I went to doctor, was given a chest x ray and told i had pneumonia. After a week of pneumonia medication i felt better, but was told i had reduced lung function. After a month i was told my lungs were back to normal,but still have a light cough from post-nasal drip. The whole thing cost me 3 weeks of income, and i have now been laid off, but im healthy and well. It can definitely take you out more than this lady (i have asthma) but you can still get through it even if you have asthma.

      I was so sick in February but noticed I was incredibly tired last weekend of January and then things got worse. Mild fevers, excruciating headaches, shortness of breath, lethargic, dizzy, nauseous and chills. The most unusual symptom was a dry parched throat and mouth ( cotton mouth) no matter the fluid intake. I would pace the pain was so intense. No body aches, no cough. The entire illness took almost a month to kick.

My friend who is a doctor is monitoring me through phone calls everyday. No test available in France yet. so you Gotta do your best to gain ur immune. I only got high fever attack once and I took paracetamol and one hour later the fever is over. Body Ache comes like many times a day together with cold (shaking) and very dry cough and short breathe like when ure swimming. it makes me paranoid. Theres time I feel very well, theres a time I feel very weak. if its normal flu, 3 days of well rest would make u feel better. but this one is unpredictable and more than a week without any progress. If anyone feel the same, don't worry, have much rest and do whatever u think is good to gain your immune, don't go out because u can give it to other people. we have to stay strong and collaborate.

    Today i woke and i had like a croop cough and couldn't catch my breath on the out breath when i coughed. I took me and my daughter BACK to the ER .. They tested us both again for flu virus and strep throat. She waited a few more days (2? 3?), then took part at the "Seattle Flu Study" After 7 more days she got the call about the test results on March 7. That means the party must have taken place on the weekend of February 21-23 and the virus has been around Seattle area for more than 5 weeks. That is worrying...

    • @linzerkipferl
      @linzerkipferl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would guess they already suspected CoVid19, but they didn't want to cause mass panic. So they lied and called it the Seattle flu, because it sounds like a local harmless little thing. Just like there are a lot of death cases due to "Moscow pneumonia" in Russia at the moment...

      @@linzerkipferl Apparently, the Seattle flu monitoring started in 2018,but has shifted monitoring to covid 19 as well. To suggest that the Seattle medical organisations are lying is somewhat scurrilous, tests for flu or covid19 are entirely different so one test could NOT test for both. As for Russia, well there is indeed strong evidence that the reporting from within Russia is not correlating with the rest of the world as regards percentage per capita, they report very few covid19 cases yet report unusually high cases of pneumonia.

    Thank you for sharing your experience. I hope most people who are COVID19 positive, and treating themselves at home will share their stories. I tested positive 3 days ago. My only symptoms have been tiredness, fever, body aches, and occasional need to clear my throat. The first 2 days I was in bed all day, today is day 7. Since then I've been more active with temperature between 98 and 100. No other symptoms. I'm drinking plenty of fluids with oranges, lime, lemon, ginger and garlic. I'm exercising when I can. Today (day 7) I feel like 8/10, with 10 being my best.
