I’m converting vans now and I strongly disagree with carpeting the rear doors, make some full height panels with or without window holes or van shades now make full height panel window pods 👍🏻
This is the finish I'm hoping to get on all my windows don't want to use the U trim. May seem pretty obvious but do this on all of them with windows out? I'm guessing it's not possible to get the carpet stuck in place with windows fitted? Thanks for the Video 👌
It’s possible obviously a lot more difficult but you can just about get the carpet in with trim tools, carefully with the back of a Stanley blade... 👌🏻
@@YourName-mp8ch thanks, it’s the tools you have, I’m building up a variety. If I did it at a pro level I guess I could warrant the purchase of an expensive nibbler or air saw 👌🏻👌🏻
@@tomtdubz perfect. I attempted to carpet my rear doors. But when I stood back it looked very shoddy. Somi took the carpet off and want to clean the adhesive to try again. Thanks for the info
Did you find that the carpet pulled water into the van?
No, managed to keep it away from the seals. Have seen some vans where it’s poured in 😟
@@tomtdubz that’s what I’m afraid of, we get a lot of rain in Wales lol

@@tomtdubz ah ok, don’t suppose you done a video?
No I haven’t sorry fella
Make sure you don't carpet all the way to the edge of the door. Otherwise the carpet will be outside the rubber seal and soak up water.
Just did the same thing on the side loading door it had me puzzled for days where the water was coming from had to cut it all back
It’s a nightmare, looks good but don’t go anywhere near the seals 👌🏻

Thanks guys just finding out the best way to do things and was worried that the carpet would stick tidy if I fit windows first.
If you can... cut - carpet - window 👌🏻
Definitely looks the best way thanks guys keep up the great work 👍
Best way in my mind 👌🏻👌🏻
Omg did you use a lawnmower to cut hole for window?
Had thought about a chainsaw but couldn’t find one at the time 👌🏻
@@tomtdubz nice finish though, thanks for the vid

The most educational part wasnt shown how to cut carpet around the door to keep strait line on perimeter or use insert for better look.
Thanks, happy to help
What did you use to clean the adhesive off the door
Alcohol wipes, 🤙🏻👌🏻and adhesive remover 🤙🏻👌🏻
