Great explanation. I had to teach this to some of my students on italki and it made me realise that remembering whether to use être or avoir is really difficult haha. French stuff is always complicated haha. By the way, how was the trip you did a couple weeks ago? The one you were planning to do?

I NEVER knew of ADVENT!! I learned with maison d'etre and I could never remember. I was also today years old when I learned that there were ONLY 17 etre verbs (excluding reflexives) I mostly avoid etre in passe compose because I thought there were way many more verbs to remember. maison d'etre is too chaotic for me. I can't explain it.. but ADVENT quoi!!? je l'aime beaucoup!! Merci!!
