So, our rock club The Ozark Gem and Mineral Society from Springfield, Missouri was actually the first group allowed to hunt this property on December 5th 2020. It was not called Haunted Ridge at that time, and they were checking us out as to the viability of this adventure. There weren't , even any outhouses at the time and the only places to hunt were around the dam (there wasn't much water in the pond so we were careful not to hurt the new dam) or just below it unless you were able to rake brush away yourself. It was only $20 a bucket that day and I know the owners still made over $1000. I guess that was when they decided this could work for them. They went public about a month later I believe. I still have some really nice pieces from that trip and our club is planning a trip back on June 24. I can't imagine how it has changed.

I was in the 2nd group! They've built a lot of trails and there's plenty of spots to dig and search. I think it's unbelievable you can still find some good stuff on the pond dam! It's been very picked over I'M SURE because it was me LOL

@@dustinfindsrocks Heh, yes I have seen you working hard at it. Glad I was able to get a few nice ones ahead of you lol. Any advice for our trip? Do I just need to get as far away from the parking lot as possible? What secret weapon do you recommend? Leaf blower? Rake? Long handled cultivator? Hire children to work for me at $2/hour?

@@marknorthrup7646 😂 I’d recommend some surface collecting and dig in some spots. Ask Greg to take you to a spot on root beer hill. Pretty much anywhere though there’s still A LOT there. It’s pretty tough digging since it’s been dry

@@dustinfindsrocks Yes, right about the tough digging, I will try root beer hill since I don't know anything much about it. Thanks. btw I appreciate all of your efforts and videos and it would be kinda cool to meet you someday. I am our club field trip guy as well as show chairman. We have a very active club of about 80 members and we have been everywhere. Our indoor fall show draws about 3000 folks with around 26 vendors. We would love to have you visit us as a guest or even as a presenter if you would be interested. It's 10/21 and 10/22 in Springfield, Mo. and I will give you more info if you are interested.
