    I wonder if a pvc tube with an element in it could heat the arrows which you then place in a "form" to dry. Similar to snowshoe making .Your neighbours must wonder what you sre upto pretty often! Thanks for the video.

      That would work I bet ! Would heat them up nice and straighten them. Yes the neighbors are starting to get used to it now and know I have a youtube channel lol ! :)

    I straightened my arrows by heating on the hump over a flame. This caused the fibers to shrink at the hump, and it straightened the hump out somewhat. Also, I used a board with a hole in it, like a bottle opener, but with a hole just bigger than the arrow shafts. Using friction on the hump to create heat by rubbing the shaft inside the hole, you then use the holy wood to wrench the shaft straight.

      I saw an illustration in an old book of an old indian tool of bone that worked like that. I straighten using the flame method to and a end wrench for the tool.

    Once you have straightend them, do they keep their new shape or there is a way to do so?

    • @NomadicWoodsman
      @NomadicWoodsman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They keep there shape. They are perfectly straight and will bend a bit as they dry ... it is home made ! lol. Hoping the feathers make them rotate and compensate for the small imperfections ... will see !

    are you familiar with straightening grooves found on native arrows? i suspect they remove wood on the side opposite of the bend so the arrow will retain straightness

      I have just learned about those the last few weeks here doing some research. I'll have to add some of those to my shafts !
