wow...talk about a GREAT guiarist! Love this interview and what a fantastic teacher Frank is. I had the good fortune of attending his Big Jersey guitar camp in Savannah, was amazing and an incredible motivator.

Great interview, Bob. Frank is a really easy talk. Would love to see you interview Jack Wilkins. Hope Frank has him at the Birdland gig!

Nice to hear Frank mention the 1990's "long Island" guitar shows ( Five Towns College in Dix Hills (Coltraneville) NY.) There are very few videos of those shows, unfortunately. Everyone was yet to have cameras in their phones.

I organised a workshop for Frank a few years ago. He's such a great guy and an amazing player. During the concert he joked about having a bathtub in the middle of his hotel room. I was in the hotel room later and sure enough plonked in the middle of the room was a working bathtub 🤣🤣🤣

Eastman guitars are great sounding guitars. Unfortunately, I had bad experiences with 2 different models close to 10 years ago. (AR 803 & T-145). They had extreme finish checking, crazing within 6 months of owning them. I ended up selling both of them.

@@jazzguitartoday yes, I contacted them and didn't get much attention. My understanding is that others with Eastman archtop guitars had similar issues. They used a very thin finish that was greatfor sound and tone,, but prone to problems and was fragile. I've been told that they've modified the formula for a slightly thicker and more durable finish. My Godin acoustic archtop and the higher end Godin jazz model work perfectly for me.

@@dkstott29 Sorry to hear that. Good thing you found a good solution.

@@dkstott29 I have two Eastmans, a Jazz Elite 17, and a Frank Vignola model. Both are fantastic guitars I would put up against anything on the market. Their customer support is much better now. If you check them out now, I think you will be impressed.

Eastmans actions won’t get low enough either plus they sound too thin. Get a DeArmond X155 in maple or the Samick LaSalle and save a ton
