Gymnasts focus more on technique, lines, flexibility, balance, and grace, whereas parkour(i feel like) is focused more on power, tricks, standing things, and adaptability
I’ve been taking up dance/soft-acrobatics recently to compliment my parkour..and the difference I’ve noticed between that and gymnastics is there’s more focus on fluidity in acro and you also learn rolls the same way one would in parkour.
As a gymnast I think they both look amazing but the dude scares me every time he twists cos he's like leaning to one side but he still lands it and it confuzzled me 😂
Always love seeing both of you together ❤ pretty much see the dynamic of yall profession as like a graceful ballerina meeting with a breakdancer if that even makes sense 😅 keep up the good content 👍🏻
It's years and years of training the muscles so differently in women's and mens gymnastics so the muscles develop with different strength and flexibility..Thats why Ninjas are all Super flexible.Dudes and Babes the same..
Parkour and freerunning always look more fun. Gymnastics just seems really strict on how tricks are done. The way gymnasts set up and do their backflips always looked less powerful and inefficient, and they would lock their legs for the jump and the landing, which always looked painful if done on a hard surface. I have been doing flips for a few years, and doing it the freerunning/parkour way always felt more powerful, efficient, and the safest. Locking your legs for a flip isn't a good way to flip and isn't graceful either because you can lose your balance more easily.

Parkour athletes also need insane balance and technique
totaly aggree but i would allso say that parkour focuses more on creativity
@@morgancotter179 Both require creativity just in different ways
@@lukemizel That is true but I'm p sure they meant about 5hings like bending legs and arms. But yah, without proper technique, it's very dangerous
@@lukemizelyeah but parkour is not refined. Gymnastics is completely well rounded and refined.
sarah is so graceful!!!
facts !
I'm more of a parkour fan but that was a lovely back extension roll.
I agree !
@@lukemizeldo they do somthin like a no gainer in gymnastics cuz id love to see if there is somthing close
One is precist other isn’t cuz as a non gymnest i do scoot and round off but gymnest suppost to stick it every time

I’m a wizard
🥳😂
both super talented Individuals!! so cool to see the differences
The main thing i noticed is that parkour athletes tuck more because tucking is more efficient even if it looks way worse
as a gymnast i feel like we focus on everything, yes we focus on grace, fluid movements, etc, but we also focus on power, height, etc
Yes !
Holy- all of these were SO satisfying to watch!
thanks!
Gymnastics: Graceful, Artistic and perfect. Parkour: messy, powerful
And compact in terms of form(parkour).
The Yin and Yang of Parkour and Gymnast was astounding and phenomenal to takeover the streets and rooftops
Always love seeing both of you together ❤ pretty much see the dynamic of yall profession as like a graceful ballerina meeting with a breakdancer if that even makes sense 😅 keep up the good content 👍🏻
Thank you so much!!
Wow both of you are amazing! ❤
Thank you so much!!
@@lukemizel yea no problem! I’m a gymnast too so watching you and her helps me learn new skills!🩷
I like parkour but both was perfect 👌
both of you are really awesome!❤️
Thank you so much 😀
@@lukemizel my pleasure!
Love your videos!
Thank you!
The main difference I see is literally everything is more over the shoulder or in tucked shape for majority of parkour compared to gymnastics
Tbh i love the parkour way, wayyy more. Seems more detailed, unique/more fun to do. 👍
Yeah I agree! both are dope tho
I did both. Nevermind if you did one of them, you need just to be careful.
You guys did amazingly good
thanks !
You both are super kool Rockstars😊
Good to know. For flexibility and the graceful seamless-appearing effort, do Gymnast Techniques before Parkour Tricks and Adaptability. Got it.

Gymnastics: graceful
Parkour: practical
Ok i got my fav because of Sarah, its GYMNAST ❤
I am learning gymnastics so I learned some other names for tricks like dive roll for tiger roll and back extension roll for back roll
Gymnastics just looks so much better cl
But you cant do it jumping from roof to roof
@@traktorholik True, I just think gymnastics is still more appealing to me.
I wish my flips were that clean those were amazing
thanks so much, keep it up and in time they will be !!
So basically gymnasts do the same things but make them look graceful and pretty
For the most part
They’re def really different
You guys good
ay thanks
i’m more ninja and karate and stuff but my sister is a gymnast and for the dive roll i also go over my shoulder and she goes over her head
The backwards extension roll hurt all of my body, just by watching
This is funny because I did a backwards extension roll in parkour yesterday
Parkour W
bros did the riley roll up

I feel a similar way about soft/dance acrobatics the movements look softer and more fluid compared to gymnastics.
Sarah is so cute!!! And talented!!!
agreed
@@lukemizel she your gf?
My teacher is called Mr Webster
WHOAH I HAVE A MOVE NAMED AFTER ME!!!! Standing Webster?!?!!! That's my last name 💀💀💀
" what's the difference in floor skills between parkour and gymnastics?"
Lemme stop u right there buddy, LOTS
Yeah
New Challenge: Can you Dive Kong far? You have to Juno from a spezific Point and then Go as far as possible
already made that video!
@@lukemizel do you mean Double Kong?
@@lukemizeli mean dive kong
The fact I had to keep watching the extension roll when Sarah did it😅

Like a flyaway ?
What's the name of that gym? Super cool
woodward west :)
Omg your becoming so famous
Working on it
Frodo vibes
As a gymnast I don’t compute parkour lmbo 😂😂
fair haha
What’s the difference between a dive roll and a Thomas salto? Is it that the dive roll isn’t connected to other skills?
Awesome
Now do it with a diver 😏
gymnast is better duhhhh
Which gym is this?
woodward West
Do they do somthing like a no gainer in gymnastics?
I believe so
You can be a pro in parkour?! 😳I had no idea!
yep!!
shes got you beat fella hands down. Your moves are liek an excuse for not being flexible enough to do it her way
Not a competition the point is to compare
Where is this at?
woodward west
Nah man you cannot say the main difference is power you're looking like Gollum out there and she's Legolas lmao those skills did not look the same
right … yeah …
lana rhodes?
Why the truck would you roll over your head
ok so is she ur gf?
Yessuh

Parkour is literally ugly gymnastics
