I don't know if you guys will like this idea, but you don't have to buy furniture really. You can built it out of concrete and bricks. So making the base for sofa for example and then only ordering or buying cushions. Same for bed base, shelves, even island kitchen table can be a hug structure made out of cement and with slelvings inside. This way your "furniture" is cheaper and lasts forever. The only thing you won't move it with time :) it's kind sealed to the walls and floor. I just love cement and all you can do it it 😂😍
That's a good idea! I actually was thinking about making shelves with bricks and planks. We're trying not to buy new stuff if we can help it, so we were happy to find a load of old furniture being sold off from an old house.
Hello Harriet and Mauro.. i don't want to sound like an expert because I'm certainly not. Just want to say that. You mentioned that you don't find time to make videos. There is no general manual or way to become popular or to get many subscribers and views. IF... that is what you want!? Some people just want to show family and friends what they're up to. Although i , with my little experience with TH-cam, ( I've done videos but got bored) is that more frequent videos provides more viewers.... I noticed you have a talent both to place the camera correct and talking in the videos , it is very good and educative. Also very pleasant. The most important though , is that you feel comfortable making videos, and than it's of no importance how often they are made or sent. Never make a video for someone else, only for yourselves. However now you made me curious and interested of your life at the finca... I'm looking forward to the next video ofcourse. Well, that's a long message, but you're living my dream actually and recently i only found similar videos from Portugal. But Spain attract me more, partly because i speak the lengua...🙂 I'm 100%Swedish but I've learnt Spanish over the years, sort of 😄 Good continuation of the year now. Regards Rickard from Sweden 🇸🇪
Gracias por tu comentario amigo! hehe You are right about the videos. Our main aim is to show people what we're up to so that when we are ready to start offering volunteer visits etc, there might already be some people out there who know what we're about and are interested! And to connect with people doing similar stuff. I enjoy making them but I don't want it to feel like a job or anything. Anyway, I'm really happy if some people find them interesting or if it helps people get an idea of what life is like here!

We are in the Castellón province. The tax is about €100 a year, that's the only land tax or "council tax" equivalent if you are in the UK. Average summer & winter temp varies a bit by how interior you are and altitude, you are probs best looking online at climate graphs but you can definitely get frosts and even snow as you enter the interior.

I just found your channel. Let me get this straight. You're creating a gray water drain outside the door............when you already have a drain inside in the floor?
There isn't a drain from the kitchen, this channel is for the kitchen water. In the end I did use the drain in the bathroom floor, the wet floor idea wasn't a good idea, but the drain drains out to next doors land so i wasn't sure we'd be able to use it
How does soap effect the grey water? I can't imagine worms or plants appreciating soap, but it's an inevitable part of grey water. I've always wondered
I don't think it's great for them, we have like a really gentle natural soap but still try not to use it in abundance. Tbh it seems like the water mostly flows down the side and out along the bottom, it doesn't pass through much of the worm substrate, I have to water the substrate with normal water to keep it damp, so I don't think the worms are too exposed. The benefit is mostly just the little food particles which get trapped in the substrate and the worms can clear up.
