i live in England but both my parents are from the republic of Ireland and the Irish freedom is something that's so important to them. a few years back we went to the 100 year commemoration of the Easter Rising where my mum cried for the entire visit. do you know how infuriating it is to see yet another video that i hoped might give a non-biased and educational video turn out to be a shoddy excuse for a documentary? I'm not sure how anyone thought it would be appropriate to undermine over 1,000 people dying in the troubles and intense religious tensions and violence across a border into videos of teenagers in tracksuits drinking alcohol and smoking weed. lets not even mention the fact that there was blatantly unequal coverage and my favourite, the token reference of a a gang of serial killers the Shankill Butchers before showing clips of a protest with peoples butts in the camera. completely tasteless.
So your mum moved to England (Britain) but wants people to be ‘free’ of the British in Northern Ireland (over half the population) where she isn’t from and clearly knows very little about? I’m guessing the people who liked your comment are as ignorant as you and your mother. Just a hunch.
Northern Irelands tourist slogan should really be, " Welcome to Northern Ireland, the most dangerous place to visit in the Developed World bit at least we're not Detroit."
It's not about religion? Mate, I literally just got jumped by 2 hoods (protestants) in a protestant area 2 hours ago (1am). They were shouting "are you a taig?" and they both jumped me, one guy hit me 5 punches but I started laughing at them. I'm only 19, yet they're 25-30 and they couldn't do shit to me LOL. Anyway, here's the best part. They thought I was a catholic, yet I live in one of the most notorious protestant areas in Northern Ireland lol. Like I said, I'm an athiest. But all this violence is down to a bunch of uneducated wipeouts thinking one is better than the other. So much hate, and they're seperated by a few yards sometimes, only a wall blocking them. All I know is, Ireland is MUCH better than Belfast or anywhere else in Northern Ireland. I've only been to 2 places in Ireland, one being Dublin and it was great. Belfast is awful
KnownEpidemic There is some religious hatred, but it is all from the Unionist side and engineered by the British. They tell them the pope wants to rule them, what rubbish, the South has been free for almost 100 years and the pope does not rule their, Protestants, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, everyone has religious freedom there. But it all goes back to the propaganda-- the real Huns (the BRITS, Huns are really the BRITS not the Protestants who are just confused Irishmen) convinced the Prods that the Catholics are drooling pope worshippers so that they would have a native population fighting for the occupation of their own land. Look at Republican movement, it was founded by Theobald Wolfe Tones, a Protestant man, it's about the freedom of Ireland not killing or hurting Protestants.

@@mumflrpumble9107 well.. guess that depends who you ask, isn't it?? different persons will call terrorists to other different people... saying that, i feel the IRA fight is more than fair.. they fight with the the weapons they had available..
@@shootgunMarvel I think the first wave of IRA was justified as they wanted freedom from what was at the time quite an oppressive regime. The second wave that came later and caused the troubles was an unjustified vendetta against the UK and an attempt to expand northbound. But you're right, it is subjective. As for the reasoning that "they fight with the weapons they had", I think you'll need to elaborate because I don't see your point there.
To anyone thinking about visiting Northern Ireland it isn't as bad as this anymore. It's still not the best, in my opinion, but the violence on the twelve has calmed down a bit and it is not normally like this.
Both sides are animals, if your fighting over tiny differences between a fairytale then your an animal, and that's what this is. Also I don't need a religious lecture, it is fake, humanity has existed for well over 200,000 years yet modern religions only appeared around 2,000 years ago, meaning a good 198,000 years this has been a nin factor in humanity, religion only became widespread because humans wanted an answer for everything, and without any meaningful science religion is the closest they could get it too, also because religion is a good suppressive force for governments as it keeps the peasants from revolting as of course the slavery in their real life will be made up for by some nonsensical afterlife of bliss.
