I'm pretty sure they only made right handed retrieve reels when I bought my first one and bought lots of them after that until I went to buy a Calcutta 150, years ago and Jos wouldn't sell me one, I was at the Toronto Sportsmen Show back when it was 10 days, he said the amount of fishing I did I needed to buy a Leftie and was going to give me a deal, well I was back a few times that week with different people travelling the 2.5hrs each way, the last day he says I throw in a rod with no charge, well I had to take it then but for about 3 months if I saw him I would've blasted him as I really didn't like it then I was trolling in a canoe fishing for Bass and caught a nice Musky and after reeling that in I was sold, now I have more Lefties then Right Handed ones, I use Left for all my Flipp'n, Pitch'n, I use both for Crankbaits, Spinnerbaits, Swimbaits etc and it really helps if you're out on the water for 10 to 14 hour days fishing as I am quite often, I always have extra Rods and Reels for people to use when they're out with me and try to get them to use both as it can really improve your day on the water in my opinion, there were a bunch of us pushing to get the Ardent Flipp'n reel in Left Hand retrieve and it worked I have 6 of them now and 1 Right Handed Tight Lines
So true! I learned to cast on a right handed baitcaster but once I tried a left handed one I prefer it 100% that said if I could only use a right handed one for some reason I wouldn’t pitch a fit, wouldn’t bother me.
I am primarily left handed and prefer all of my reels to be right hand retrieve.
That makes sense to me! It is more natural
Great video !
