I had a gold 1991 Volvo 460 GLE Automatic that I took to Retro Rides Weekender last year. I thought that it was fantastic, but not everyone shared my opinion.
The Type 3 Volkswagen 1600 was everywhere when I was at primary school and they were a beautiful fastback shape. I think I could squeeze a 1990s Nissan Micra into my Dream Garage. I do like the different look of the 1987/88 Nissan Bluebird Estate because the earlier Bluebird Saloon was an attractive big car. You have to love the Skoda Favorit for its modernity in 1989. It is quite easy to forget noe that the Porsche 944 was arguably the best handling sportscar in the world in the 1980s. The 1992 Toyota Starlet did come with a standard electric sunroof. A Nissan Almera GTi what a fabulous forgotten hot hatch..
Sir, the owner of the Almera GTi has seen this video, it seems to be a regular fixture at Retro Rides Weekender at the moment. The Nissan and Datsun range in the 1980s was exceptionally confusing... The Starlets were not big sellers over here, so I am happy to see that they had some luxuries at least.
Bored of shuffles???? Never Sir..... Loved the little Suzuki Swift, I nearly bought one of these for my first car 23 years ago but found the insurance was more than the car! Lovely little K11 Micra. Lovely Skoda Favorit and Mark 1 Clio. Nice to see the Rover 400 Tourer again. The Almera GTI a highly underrated Car. Sure the wheels on Mr Brisdon's Granada are RS wheels. A fantastic shuffle as always Sir.
Well sir, you had a chance to bail out at the beginning, we aren't really into click bait round here. Lots more K11 Micras, Skodas and Mark I Clios to come. The Almera was an absolute delight... Thank you again, sir!
It's interesting to me that seeing a car model, or even hearing it named, can take me back to a particular place and time. Chevy Malibu? Yes, that was me on a student exchange in Massachusetts in the Summer of 1968. Hillman Imp? That was me being injured as a passenger in a car smash in Liverpool in the late Sixties. No seat belts..... Dad had a Volvo (340?) like that at 16:35. I think he liked it well enough but I seem to recall that it was a bit heavy to steer at low speeds. At 25:58 there is a Honda that was called the Del Sol in the USA. I knew a lady in California who owned one.
Sadly, I would have liked to have stopped to read it all, but this year's event was so massive that I had to keep moving! Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting.
Getting bored of your shuffles, sir? Never! Looking forward to digging in and seeing all there is to see.
Well sir, some people inevitably get bored of such things, and so we must cater for all tastes if we can.
Made me smile… there was some lovely cars (and a few turds too). One man’s gold and all that 😂

The Rover 400 Tourer is a very, very handsome car, Rover did a fantastic job on it.
It certainly is, sir! I hope that you enjoyed this first part.

25:52 - these do have VTEC engines - not a B series though, that particular one will be a D16Y8.

Oh yes, you are absolutely right! These cars do take us back to a time and a place, don't they? Thank you again for watching and commenting, sir!
