    I have a German rottie and I'm glad i kept his tail. Germany banned tail docking on rottie's but you can't have a show dog in the U.S. with a tail. The trend was started because rottie's pulled carts and the tail would get caught and cause injury. Those days are over and docking a tail eliminates agility.

    I love rottweilers, My dad got one before I was born and I was 2 or 3 when he died I think. In the future I hope to get one, they are my favorite dog and my dream dog I guess you could say. I think I'm gonna get a German one, since you said there more larger and more stocky and more muscle. Thanks for posting this. I was gonna say this earlier but I wanted to see if I could get a pinned comment lol

    Main difference has been there is restrictions on which Rottweilers can breed in Germany but none in the United States. Quality is a reflection of that.

      My rescued Rottweiler has elbow dysplasia and had a tooth come in wrong from having parvovirus from the shelter as a puppy that she almost did not survive and looks more like a Beauceron (American Rottweiler) and she is 11 years old, but she is a great dog. She is spayed and not a show dog and has some health issues.

    I had a German Rottweiler for 8 years, got him when I was stationed in Germany in '99. I love the Germans over the Americans. they are more muscular and have a square head. He was great with my son, whenever someone came over didn't matter if he knew them or not he sat with my son and followed him around in a protective posture always keeping the new person in site. I want another German but getting to Germany is expensive.

      Most Rottweilers whether German or American are born with tails the reason a lot don’t have tails is because they are docked when they are puppies. There is some amount that are born with naturally bobbed tails but just because it’s American doesn’t mean it automatically doesn’t have a tail

      No there are no original rotties left, the so called roman rotts today is the Serbian rottweiler, or the pugweiller, the most ugly. Roman rottweilers are not fat they’re more like tall and muscular, like the Americam rott, their snout is actually longer than the German and American rottweiler.

    “Where the dog is born is what kind of dog it is.”
    Totally Disagree
    The German Rottweiler is generally a slightly larger dog, even if only by centimeters, and will not have a docked tail. The American Kennel Club recognizes a slightly smaller dog with the signature docked tail. Some recognize a third category ~ The Roman Rottweiler.
    Hunters will also argue there is a huge difference between American Labs vs. English Labs.

      @ryanpoloski4322 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      128 lb is definitely a large male and they shouldn't be bigger than that. Tons of breeders focusing on size with no attention to temperament and working ability. And the recommendation Butler kennels is a horrible one as he sells Sick Puppies that ended up dying. He also doesn't own a single dog or produced a single dog with a show or working title and not a single dog he owns is completely Health tested. It's very important to do research on a breeder because there's a lot of shady people out there these days running puppy mills

    • @kennyhouser3467
      @kennyhouser3467 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I had one that tipped the scales at 140 lbs. He was MASSIVE and not obese. Much like any other living being on the planet, there are outliers. Even people come in extremely large and small sizes. He still had a good chest to hip ratio and from the top he didn't have a rounded appearance. Unfortunately, he didn't meet breed standards and would've been disqualified from any shows had I taken him. However, he wasn't a show dog and was just a family companion and home protection tool. He was a great dog who did his duty faithfully until Cancer took him from us at the age of 10. Man, I wish our dogs lived just a little bit longer.
