Feeding Our 5 Months Old Rottweiler Puppies

- In today's video we fed our Serbian import, 5 months old Rottweiler siblings. We named the male Raggz and the female Sasha. These puppies come from top European and German bloodlines. They have a great temperament and a very high drive. We hope they develop and mature well with age and also get their daily ring training for them to compete in dog shows.

Hi there !! I have a 9 1/2 month old Rottweiler puppy. I want to switch him to raw diet. How much do you recommend I feed ? Or is a kebble and raw diet together okay?

My 5 months old rottie puppy doesn’t leave the bowl. He eats way too fast. We are using the slow feeder for him. These pups are well behaved
yes when they are 5-6 months old or shorter they eat so fast like they are going to die but when they become mature they eat very slow
My friends dog used to eat so fast that he would get acid reflux and throw it back up lol. Slow feeder helped with that

Awesome dogs, I have a 3 month (12 week) old male, took him to the vet yesterday and he was only ~23lbs. Im not sure if I should be worried about him being to small or not (he looks healthy). Can I ask what Raggz was at this age?
My was 25 lbs at 3 months. So, maybe yours is roughly right on track. All dogs are different and they’re still babies. They’ll all be big when they should be. As long as they’re healthy now

i bought serbian rotty he is 4 month old and he is twice the size of your dogs in terms of height and about same girth never thought he would get so big born july 24 and he like huge i use victor high plus pro and dyne liquid feed and 2 boil eggs with there meal and only sometimes chicken or ground meat

@@tutumama6500 I was going to speak on this too but I noticed other issues. 1 the kibble has to be a High Protein product, and it should always be served moist. That the pups are walking around and not interested in eating means that the food is boring, the quality is poor, or there’s not taste. The one Pup has a beautiful head, but the other has Cow hocks. That’s when the legs aren’t straight. It also a sign of calcium deficiency. I had German Rottis, I live in Germany , and the dogs are larger and big boned. Have You wormed them? The one looks lethargic, no energy. They’re still pups and it seems like they need a hit of speed. To feed them together is KOOL when they’re Puppies but apparently they haven’t decided who the Alpha is. When it comes to food issues, You have to let each one have their space. If that’s your feeding routine, Bro You need help. Where’s the veggies, carrots are super because the carotene enhances the brown markings and makes them darker. Also for Fiber. I used a Raw, veggies, rice, meat mix. Some are 100% raw but that’s expensive and unnecessary, in My opinion. Also when feeding to combat food aggression, although by these 2 they don’t like the Food so that’s not a problem yet, but food aggression is tackled by You being the Alpha. Making them sit and You putting Your hand in the Food, shows them that You decide who eats or not. If that’s not cleared You WILL have them protecting their food from You or anyone who comes close. But only expect this to happen after You give them a Nutritional, Balanced, fun diet. These are still babies, and should be eating 3 times a day. I cook rice, give veggies, liver beef/chicken, Oatmeal for the fleas and bulk, sardines, hardly ever Pork, and if so ALWAYS parboiled, or any kind of fish even out of the can, and 3 x a week an egg with ground up shell. I vary the meat, and only give them a meat 3 x a week but everyday kibble mixed in. Get them on a substantial diet and they’ll be more active. Like I said, German Rottis have a different structure, but these Pups look like they’re bored with life.

They already had their morning walk and breakfast. These puppies have very high drive when they’re not full
@@HAUSOFRAUCHIGROTTS how often do You feed them? At 5-6 months it should be 3 x a day. Potty then a good breakfast, then let them chill, potty then lunch and chilling and light playing. It’s very dangerous for them to be running around after eating, because the movement could cause the belly to turn and this is certain death. Actually when they sleep they’re growing. After potty dinner, chill and then after 2 hours get to running and playing before bed.
@@brianhardaway9716 We do feed them 3x daily because they’re 6 weeks of age at the moment. They get their morning exercise after that they chill in the garden all day long
@@HAUSOFRAUCHIGROTTS I think You meant 6 months? KOOL. I don’t know how much You’re into the raw BS, but I don’t believe in 100% raw because it’s UNHEALTHY. The Wolf doesn’t even eat meat everyday. It’s a diet for a highly active dog and then meat everyday is expensive and just meat with Supplements is defeating the purpose. Buy a High Protein, Good Quality Kibble and use that as the basis, then adding veggies, rice, oatmeal, and such to make it balanced. I mentioned before about letting Your dogs rest after eating because of GDV.www.alphapaw.com/blog/why-do-dogs-stomachs-flip/ This is where the stomach flips and can kill Your dog. Also You can teach Your dog to not inhale it’s food, which Many think is Normal because it comes from the Wolf. This is BS. This is also Unhealthy and can cause health as well as food aggression problems. Google, Teach dog to eat slower. There’s a few tips to try, but the 2 main reasons are because of Competition, food aggression or thinking Someone will take its food, and inhaling the whole dish in seconds. This can be easy stopped by feeding the kibble moist. I feed a mixed kibble everyday!! It balances the diet with fiber, helps clean the intestines, but also expands causing the dog to eat slower. Overfeeding is also unhealthy. That’s why the required measurements are given in accordance with the weight and age of the dog. For those that think they’re doing their Pet good by feeding more are doing more harm as good. Giving dry kibble is dangerous because it causes the dog to drink more, causing the kibble to expand, cause Bloat, which as I explained is also Unhealthy. Or You could put large plastic things like a ball, or anything uneatable to make them search for the eatable food. After a few weeks You can stop because they’ve gotten the idea. Also feed the dogs separately. I always moisten the kibble with warm water which causes the kibble to release flavor into the mix and also helps with digestion. Some Folks think that giving them water next to the dish is better, but like I explained, it’s not the correct method. The beautiful thing about TH-cam is the ability to get tips. Some helpful and some not, but Who can say They have a corner on the tru? Such a Person is a FOOL!! Are these two from the same litter? The one has a European face and the other an American face. The German face is not as broad and when older they look better when the head starts to split. The Blockhead is typical in the US, but to each His own. Are they both males? If so there’s going to come a day when the Alpha will be determined. If Male and female then the process has probably been cleared. Although My Female, Asta is very large for a Female and very dominant. Not aggressive but she could hold her own against Beno. Take care and things will work out. Did I mention by giving carrots in the diet, You can influence the brown markings on chest and mask? There’s Folks that like darker markings, Me for one, which makes the brown look reddish. Pretty KOOL.

My 8 week old rotty won't eat her biscuits 🙄 she loves chicken and mince though any tips on getting her to eat the biscuits because they are good for her development

It depends. Is yours going to work, and run a lot with you? Mines has his tail docked since we run majority of the day.
