A far cry from 1982 to early 1986, but better than almost anything in the last 20 years.
Wrestling now belongs to completely different fans with very different standards
Yes by 1986 World Class had lost a lot of Wrestlers to The WWF, The NWA and The UWF. It also didn't help that David Von Erich had passed away in 1984 and Kerry Von Erich was seriously injured in a Motorcycle Accident in 1986.
Steve Simpson is bigger than I remember . I originally thought him too thin . Goes to show how truly big most heavyweights were back then .
He wasn't as big muscle wise. Him and Shawn almost the same weight

I just don't see Steve "Barely Above Jobber" Simpson lasting 15 minutes with Big "Tractor Trailer Pulling" Joe Luduc. Especially for a belt.
Jos was there to help put young talent over . His career was nearly over .
Dingo/Ultimate Warrior is so stiff....bet a lot of guys needed some ice bath time after trying to work with him.

There always a story an the story is that the promoción was on it's way out an Black Bart was all they had so it was out of nesecity.

What a sad state of affairs in World Class at this time. World Champion Chris Adams jumps ship to the UWF, Rick Rude bails to JCP, Kerry Von Erich was still out after his motorcycle accident . They didn't have anyone better then Black Bart to be their champion???
We were asking the same question then. Not that Black Bart was not a good wrestler, but he was a stable hand ; a midcarder . It was Fritz's idea which made me think it was about no one outshining the Von Erichs .

Why would World Class put their HW championship on a mid card talent, at best? Black Bart is a jobber in my opinion..
Zulu was big .....but thats all . He was so so in the ring .

@@chrischar9428 I remember reading a story about him on Kayfabe Memories how he was upset with his low payoffs in Southwest, and he decided to "go on strike" against the Blanchards for better pay. He camped outside the office with a picket sign, and no one paid any attention to him, thinking he was just some random homeless guy. One of the other wrestlers pulled a rib on him by telling him people probably didn't recognize him without his big bone that he carried with him to the ring as part of his gimmick, and he should go home and get his bone. So he did. To zero effect.

So sad that Buzz Sawyer and Matt Borne were on the downside of their careers when they reunited . Matt bounced back with Doink later in WWF but at this time his star was not shining so bright . Buzz was a wreck . His best days were in the early 80s in Georgia .
Buzz was already strung out by this time. His drug problem was bad
Bourne was a psycho and Sawyer was a thief. They should have been known as a tag team as "The Creeps."
@@DateTwoRelate On paper they were a fantastic rookie team . They imploded before accomplishing anything . Proof that it takes more than in ring ability to become a success in wrestling . These two never lived up to their potential despite themselves
It was said back then that the rivalry between Buzz Sawyer and Tommy Rich took years off both Men's Careers. Both Sawyer and Bourne bounced around the Wrestling World usually as Mid-Carders.

This end result of letting Ken mantel run the the match making fritz should listen to Gary hart . Hart even said Ken s negligence and irresponsible ways was Goin damage world class championship wrestling . And sure enough it did ruin world class. He also led to the heart attack angle thinking that bring fans back. And continue the von Eric n freebirds fued . With Hayes, ice man sure he'll had no buisness I'n freebirds. He was toxic as well n on Crack by this time. Had they went along with the von erich heel turn , as hart and few others suggested it would Ben a better outcome.
