  • The end of year blues got me today. To quote Bob Marley "Good friends we had, and good friends we lost, along the way". Its not as dramatic in my case, only drifting apart from a few people who were dear to me without being able to much about it. We went different ways in our life. This piece is a reflection on that.

    Sometimes I have no bowl for my cereal, so I eat out of my belly button. Yes, it’s like a swimming pool, bring a raft.
    Great job on this piece, I could watch and listen to an OP1 Coco combo for days. It brings such joy

      I have no idea what's going on in the first two sentences, and I like it.

    Absolutely heartwrenching. You have such talent at revealing, the way the OP-1 starts to shine through the bowed tones really is something else. It's always sad to drift away from friends but I find odd solace in this song. It captures that awkward dance of leaving, returning and then leaving for good, leaving behind a small void where the person once stood. Especially that small fluttering two thirds in really captures that uncertainty, it's deeply resonant. I'm constantly in awe of your talents but these more minimal videos really go to show how mastery over your equipment and strong vision are always more important than the equipment itself. It's rare to be able to conjure such a vivid sonic landscape with any instrument, bravo.

      Thank you so much! The fluttering tremolo you mentioned is indeed an important detail in getting the emotion across. Fragility.

    Beautiful, reflective piece. Got me thinking about those relationships I've lost, but also thankful for those gained and reconnected. Also, the urge for Cocoquantus is rising...

      Thank you! Yeah, a Coco is a thing of beauty. Some of your ER-301 remind me of it.

    Got to say I think I'm a little bit in love with your music. That piece you did about making some music for a play was fantastic. Going to go and check out some stuff on bandcamp now. Thank you.

      Thank you ! TE support never answered me, so I might be stuck with no forwards key.

    I love the way you actually move _with_ the music, your hand movements are really easy and relaxed. Brilliant stuff.

    I've thought about getting a Coco, but they seem to be kind of difficult to understand. I've looked and several different things on MuffWiggler and diagrams people have posted. I would be afraid of spending the money on one and not understanding it enough to utilize it. Great piece though, big fan of your videos!

      It is indeed difficult to understand - I spent a lot of time with modular before so it was kind of a natural fit, but still took some time to truly get it. And I feel I am still learning. Still, its a deserted island instrument for me (also battery power!).

    Hi. Lovely sounds. I use a coco too and was wondering what microphone you have plugged into the coco. I always struggle to get a good signal without using a mixer preamp from a shure sm 58. I noticed that the gain is about 3 o'clock here.

      @@Hainbach Thanks. Sorry im overthinking stuff & shouldnt have said that. But anyways I love your music and the way you experiment with all kinds of machines! Please do a video with your new case of all analog eurorack modules! Especially the Metasonix tube stuff!

    • @Hainbach
      @Hainbach  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries! I have a video idea were I want to talk about the modules that inspired me most, and the Metasonix R's are on that. The R54 especially.
