An Accident I Have Witnessed It was a sunny afternoon, and I was walking home from school. The streets were busy, filled with cars, bicycles, and people rushing to their destinations. I usually enjoyed walking at this time of day because the air felt fresh, and the sounds of the city made me feel alive. But that day, something happened that I will never forget. As I reached the corner of Maple Street and Elm Avenue, I saw a man riding his bicycle. He was wearing a bright yellow jacket, and his bike was shiny and new. He looked happy as he pedaled down the road. On the other side of the street, I noticed a car driving quite fast. It was a red car, and it seemed like the driver wasn’t paying much attention to the road. I suddenly had a bad feeling. The cyclist was about to cross the intersection, and the car was heading straight toward him. I wanted to shout and warn the man, but everything happened too quickly. The car didn’t stop in time, and it hit the back wheel of the bicycle. The cyclist lost his balance and fell hard onto the pavement. His bike flipped over and landed a few meters away. The sound of the crash was loud and shocking, and everyone nearby stopped to look. Luckily, the driver of the car immediately got out and ran to the cyclist to check if he was okay. A few other people, including me, rushed to help. The man was sitting up but looked dazed. He had a small cut on his forehead, and his knees were scraped, but he was conscious. One of the bystanders called an ambulance, and it arrived within a few minutes. The paramedics checked the man and said he would be fine but needed to go to the hospital for further checks. The driver of the car apologized repeatedly and looked very upset about what had happened. The accident taught me an important lesson about being careful on the road. It reminded me that both drivers and cyclists need to pay attention and follow the rules. I hope the man on the bike recovered quickly, and I’m glad the situation wasn’t worse.
