Another difference - if you don't attack Toriel, she's also harder. She won't stop attacking or avoid you once you hit a certain amount of HP and can very easily kill you, although she will start avoiding you once you Spare enough times.

yooo this is actually a fire idea in hard mode, instead of making all the characters act more serious, you just amplify their characteristics toriel becomes more caring and overprotective (so in a genocide run, you'll only be at lvl 2 than 4) papyrus uses more lethal force to capture you due to the obsession of wanting to be famous and in the royal guard sans is still the same except with more puns (he'll have an extra battle in waterfall. This isn't a serious fight but more of friendly one, even in genocide. The fight ends if you drop to 1hp kinda like how papyrus' normal battle does or if you just survive till the end) undyne is just... more angry I guess... alphys will be more prominent to the story in both routes, helping you in neutral/pacifist and detrimental and more of an obstacle for you in genocide mettaton is more or less the same except his NEO form get's a chance now due to you being lower leveled in the genocide run (thanks to toriel) and asgore is still the mysterious big bad in normal routes but will be incredibly annoying in the genocide route by commanding more stronger monsters to gang up on you after alphys contacted him
This is a what happened when I played Undertale for the first time. I did not know much about the game, but I knew what the protagonist's canon name was, and I wanted the canon name, so I named the fallen human Frisk. I triggered hard mode without knowing it. When I killed Toriel and the game seemingly ended, I was like: "Dude, WTF?" That's my story.

I fould out about frisks name before playing the game, so i named them frisk, just like i always name link to link in loz. I completed the hard mode and though "was this all? Isnt the game longer than this? Did i do something wrong?". So i played it again and named them frisk and got the same ending. I did this like another 5 times untill i went to the wiki page and found out that I wasnt suppose to name them frisk. Im shitty at games and is still surprised that i got the hard ending 7 times. Sure, I died a lot, but I still defeared toriel 7 times.

The "fallen human" refers to the first one who fell. Not your character. Toby had a naming screen so that they could have this ^ plot twist during pacifist's final boss.

This child proved to be more disgustingly dangerous than Chara himself. I would love for hard mode to include alternate scenes. Even if they fall non-canon. True pacifist would redeem Asriel entirely and the normal ending includes Asriel in many other scenes. Neutral will have extra endings on the difficulty. Genocide will reveal just how horrid the player really is... And Chara isn't the only one who is evil.
The addition of hard mode would probably mean that he would reveal a lot more about the underlying plot of the game. Heck, it may also be a way to "stop" your consequences from a genocide ending...
I would think only the True Pacifist ending would be a little bit different, especially when little Asriel asks your true name ^w^ Otherwise, it just makes the game more challenging and possibly unlocks some more secrets.
If characters in hard mode looked and attacked differently: Flowey - His petals are sharper. That's all I could say about him. Toriel - She wears a crown and may try to kill you if your back is turned, just to take your soul and free the monsters. She can use blue attacks. Napstablook - He is still the same as his standard counterpart. Sans - He wears a red hoodie instead of a blue hoodie. Not much to say about him because I am lazy. Papyrus - In hard mode, he joins the royal guards, so he wears actual armor instead of a party costume, making him a little more tankier. He can use blue and orange attacks and gaster blasters. Mad Dummy - He has more stitches and stuffings, with some springs coming out of him. He can attack by spazzing around causing lethal stuffings to fall onto the bullet box. Undyne - Her armor and helmet will be darker in colour, with some golden outlines and horns. She keeps her helmet on during the battle, and her spears can bounce and move in a wavy direction. Her undying form has wings to match the delta rune emblem. Mettaton - His colour becomes closer to futuristic white and his red-yellow screen becomes purple-pink. In his EX form, his hairstyle resembles more closely to Joseph Joestar. He can also use lightning attacks that functions similarly to Asriel's attack. Muffet - Her dress is purple and patterned like a spider web. Nothing much. Asgore - He wears a bigger crown with purple jewels and his armor and cape are gold-coloured all over. His trident becomes barbed and purple. Like Undyne, Asgore can conjure more tridents to throw. Omega Flowey - Parts of him becomes wooden-brown instead of green and his DT Extractor is armored. His flys and flytraps become bees and beehives, his flamethrowers become lasers and he has a new attack called "Operation: Wandering SOUL". His soul minigames also become harder to dodge. Asriel - His background colour is red, brown and purple instead of the cycling spectrum colour. He also wears a crown, and all of his attacks are bullet hell. Hope is frail, but it cannot be killed.

Here’s a short story: On my first playthrough, I put my name as frisk cause u play as frisk and I thought that was the right choice. Since this was my first play through it took me a month to kill one monster.

Unfortunate that hard mode does end in the tutorial portion. I would love to see it delve into W.D. Gaster by choosing to do hard mode. Like I am perfectly satisfied with the true pacifist run ending, but since this is a game where choices created different endings. I can not help feeling like there is an ending unseen.
Holly Boreham Gaster is the creator of the Core and did actually present the idea of souls maintaining after death. However, he died in the process of making the Core to which Sans attempted to go back in time likely to prevent from happening. Thus the reason Sans can time travel.
juvygenius Cool cool, I'm behind on Gaster lore, all i know is he's wingdings scientist skele-dad and he hides in the coding and he crashes your game if you want to be called Gaster.
If only there could be a fully completed hard mode, with more storyline and perhaps actually fighting Gaster? Or even better, maybe if you beat hard mode in Pacifist (which I imagine would be insanely difficult), do non-hard mode and a Neutral/Pacifist run first, then which ever one you didn't do, then do the kill-everything run, then try to do Pacifist in Hard Mode, you go through a process of 'fighting to regain what you've lost' and literally fight the game's controls against killing things (it tries to make you attack by default) and eventually encounter Gaster, either as an enemy or he teaches you how to mess with the flow of time ingame, and you go back to stop yourself from ever doing the Genocide run, thus getting a secret ending. That'd be interesting.

Mega hard mode: When you first meet flowey he turns into omega flowey. When you beat him there is a snail race and you have to come in first place and then you have to battle monsters as strong as the Mettaton EX fight and you have to lower their hp to exactly 1 before you spare them and you only have 5 HP and you have to do puzzles designed for hotland in the normal game and then you have to fight Toriel with insta kill attacks and attacks are 2 seconds longer than any other fight and Toriel has insta kill attacks and then after when you meet sans he will fight you and there is no using items in the sans fight and he has insta kill attacks, when you beat sans flowey comes back to life and becomes asriel with instakill attacks and attacks that last two seconds longer and if you lose you have to do the sans fight again and when you beat asriel the game continues on into normal mode like nothing ever happened
The part where the froggit says he's seen Toriel doesn't only happen in Hard Mode. Or at least, for me it doesn't. I think it triggers if you beat the Ruins in a certain time. Maybe it's a glitch.
Aezuhfy yes but in the normal mode the froggit says she came through carrying groceries. She wasn't looking for anything else in the normal mode whereas Toriel was looking for something in hard mode
If Hard Mode goes on until the end of the game in Pacifist, I bet Asriel know Frisk for a long time and saying they're the first human to fall in the Underground.
New enemies, puzzle solutions are less obvious, used to everything, different music, different dialogue, some items aren't available, some previously unavailable items can be found, and the game ends at the ruins.
Yes, this is the hard mode. It is surely hard to accept that you won't play this further. It's harder than any other mode, just as the dog says, not because of the bullets.

+Dareverius Jirioni This video only shows the enemies you don't see in the main game. He used debug features to remove all the enemy attacks, but in a normal hard mode play through, you also have to fight Final Froggit, Whimsalot, and Astigmatism, enemies normally found in the core. Without late-game armor, each hit does 5 damage and there aren't many healing items. It really is hard. I don't know whether or not you've actually played it, but... Hard mode is REALLY HARD.
My headcanon: The only puzzle toriel can do is the one in the spiky room, so she needed those labels on the switches to be able to navigate through the ruins
4:16 she says snail pie .... so that is why in pacifist run near nabstablooks house you can find the same snail (but alive) and when you interract with it‚ it says that you cant stop wondering how it TASTES....
I really hope this game doesn't get a sequel because its great just the way it is and has so much mystery and charm to it. But it would be pretty cool if we got a new ending to the game or something.

I fould out about frisks name before playing the game, so i named them frisk, just like i always name link to link in loz. I completed the hard mode and though "was this all? Isnt the game longer than this? Did i do something wrong?". So i played it again and named them frisk and got the same ending. I did this like another 5 times untill i went to the wiki page and found out that I wasnt suppose to name them frisk.
Im shitty at games and is still surprised that i got the hard ending 7 times. Sure, I died a lot, but I still defeared toriel 7 times.

So Pacifist mode should be as normal...

True pacifist would redeem Asriel entirely and the normal ending includes Asriel in many other scenes.

If characters in hard mode looked and attacked differently:
Flowey - His petals are sharper. That's all I could say about him.
Toriel - She wears a crown and may try to kill you if your back is turned, just to take your soul and free the monsters. She can use blue attacks.
Napstablook - He is still the same as his standard counterpart.
Sans - He wears a red hoodie instead of a blue hoodie. Not much to say about him because I am lazy.
Papyrus - In hard mode, he joins the royal guards, so he wears actual armor instead of a party costume, making him a little more tankier. He can use blue and orange attacks and gaster blasters.
Mad Dummy - He has more stitches and stuffings, with some springs coming out of him. He can attack by spazzing around causing lethal stuffings to fall onto the bullet box.
Undyne - Her armor and helmet will be darker in colour, with some golden outlines and horns. She keeps her helmet on during the battle, and her spears can bounce and move in a wavy direction. Her undying form has wings to match the delta rune emblem.
Mettaton - His colour becomes closer to futuristic white and his red-yellow screen becomes purple-pink. In his EX form, his hairstyle resembles more closely to Joseph Joestar. He can also use lightning attacks that functions similarly to Asriel's attack.
Muffet - Her dress is purple and patterned like a spider web. Nothing much.
Asgore - He wears a bigger crown with purple jewels and his armor and cape are gold-coloured all over. His trident becomes barbed and purple. Like Undyne, Asgore can conjure more tridents to throw.
Omega Flowey - Parts of him becomes wooden-brown instead of green and his DT Extractor is armored. His flys and flytraps become bees and beehives, his flamethrowers become lasers and he has a new attack called "Operation: Wandering SOUL". His soul minigames also become harder to dodge.
Asriel - His background colour is red, brown and purple instead of the cycling spectrum colour. He also wears a crown, and all of his attacks are bullet hell. Hope is frail, but it cannot be killed.

On my first playthrough, I put my name as frisk cause u play as frisk and I thought that was the right choice. Since this was my first play through it took me a month to kill one monster.

Like I am perfectly satisfied with the true pacifist run ending, but since this is a game where choices created different endings. I can not help feeling like there is an ending unseen.

Holly Boreham Gaster is the creator of the Core and did actually present the idea of souls maintaining after death. However, he died in the process of making the Core to which Sans attempted to go back in time likely to prevent from happening. Thus the reason Sans can time travel.

I loved how Flowey was like 'Gee, talk about a tryhard.' at the end. Flowey's my favourite character.
If only there could be a fully completed hard mode, with more storyline and perhaps actually fighting Gaster? Or even better, maybe if you beat hard mode in Pacifist (which I imagine would be insanely difficult), do non-hard mode and a Neutral/Pacifist run first, then which ever one you didn't do, then do the kill-everything run, then try to do Pacifist in Hard Mode, you go through a process of 'fighting to regain what you've lost' and literally fight the game's controls against killing things (it tries to make you attack by default) and eventually encounter Gaster, either as an enemy or he teaches you how to mess with the flow of time ingame, and you go back to stop yourself from ever doing the Genocide run, thus getting a secret ending. That'd be interesting.

Mega hard mode:
When you first meet flowey he turns into omega flowey. When you beat him there is a snail race and you have to come in first place and then you have to battle monsters as strong as the Mettaton EX fight and you have to lower their hp to exactly 1 before you spare them and you only have 5 HP and you have to do puzzles designed for hotland in the normal game and then you have to fight Toriel with insta kill attacks and attacks are 2 seconds longer than any other fight and Toriel has insta kill attacks and then after when you meet sans he will fight you and there is no using items in the sans fight and he has insta kill attacks, when you beat sans flowey comes back to life and becomes asriel with instakill attacks and attacks that last two seconds longer and if you lose you have to do the sans fight again and when you beat asriel the game continues on into normal mode like nothing ever happened

The part where the froggit says he's seen Toriel doesn't only happen in Hard Mode. Or at least, for me it doesn't. I think it triggers if you beat the Ruins in a certain time. Maybe it's a glitch.
Aezuhfy yes but in the normal mode the froggit says she came through carrying groceries. She wasn't looking for anything else in the normal mode whereas Toriel was looking for something in hard mode

New enemies, puzzle solutions are less obvious, used to everything, different music, different dialogue, some items aren't available, some previously unavailable items can be found, and the game ends at the ruins.

He used debug features to remove all the enemy attacks, but in a normal hard mode play through, you also have to fight Final Froggit, Whimsalot, and Astigmatism, enemies normally found in the core. Without late-game armor, each hit does 5 damage and there aren't many healing items. It really is hard. I don't know whether or not you've actually played it, but... Hard mode is REALLY HARD.
My headcanon: The only puzzle toriel can do is the one in the spiky room, so she needed those labels on the switches to be able to navigate through the ruins

I really hope this game doesn't get a sequel because its great just the way it is and has so much mystery and charm to it. But it would be pretty cool if we got a new ending to the game or something.
