Yeah this game was so much fun on gamecube. The big 4 player rumbles were similar to smash bros melee, just missing the items. The uniqueness of each digimon definitely added something to the gameplay and made you really feel more for your favorite character.
I had no idea this existed but now I definitely need to get a 4 player match going with some friends! Thanks for the video, good stuff :) I like the shorter format versus the usual 30+ minute long reviews
When I introduced my younger sister to the PS2, I showed her many games that are considered classics or some of the best games of all time. But the one she enjoyed the most and asked to play time and time again, even if I would win basically all the time, or she'd easily beat the AI was this one. As a lifelong Digimon fan, that made me happy. A bit confused, but very happpy. ...if she had fallen in love with Digimon World 4, I don't know what I'd do.

Best fighting game I played as a kid. Even when the Wii came out and I had Brawl, I would come back to this game.
I played RA2 so much as a kid, the menu song is burned into my brain. I absolutely adore this game, and it is a sleeper on the GC for sure

I got the second Rumble Arena with my PS2 and unlocked everything in one afternoon.
I honestly preferred Rumble Arena 1.
I think the issue was less that it was a smaller cast but heavily biased towards Season 1 cast, with little to no options from Seasons 2-4
Only played the first Rumble Arena, didn’t know a second existed until years later, otherwise I would’ve bought that too lol
I liked this game when i was 7
