John Anderson actually did play Lincoln multiple times in his acting career.

Right? Like one that ruins it for me is friggin' *ugh* CHARLETON HESTON AS SHERLOCK HOLMES. My dad wrote and self-published a Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper book, Heston has a movie, 'Murder by Decree' where he plays Sherlock Holmes, and right at the start, he's just clearly blindly SAWING at this violin with the bow. It makes me laugh and I can't get past it to take anything else in the movie seriously.

His life is worth living because of the small moments, the simple act of LIVING, not because his presence makes the world magically better. Simply being alive, adding some small touch of himself, is all that's needed.

The person who provided the actual music for Joey & Gabe was Uan Rasey, one of the many legendary Hollywood studio musicians of that time. You may also have heard him in Chinatown, Rocky, & The Munsters. He lived to be 91 and passed in 2011. My private teacher look lessons from him for 30 years and described him as the most positive human being to ever live.

This, while not the most thematically-packed Twilight Zone episode ever made, I will say that this is definitely a favorite of mine! While it's solid, overall, what I think hits me the hardest is the epiphany Klugman has about his life, in that he really had some wonderful times, even if they're a bit distant, now. It's just something about the simplicity of his delivery that I like, in how it doesn't ignore the negative parts, but just sort of resolves to take the good with the bad. That and "Gabriel" is a standout, amongst the whole series, as relatively little we saw of him. Great episode!

My number 44 episode. Jack Klugman did a great job, as did John Anderson. Glad you noticed the goof when Klugman looked at the sign for coming attractions--just a few seconds, luckily. Also, the stuntman is visible when he gets "hit" by the truck. I didn't understand the minimalist setting at the club. But a great message (a second chance, not everyone gets the message 😮)

The visual of Gabe under the light with the horn tucked under his arm is just so iconic. It's been burned into my memory since the first time I watched this episode. Also, since the Twilight Zone is one of those shows where we've all heard the plot twists and they've all been parodied to death, the plot twist is that Joey wasn't actually dead and that everyone else were ghosts came completely out of left field. I actually forget that that's the twist in every rewatch.

"A Passage for Trumpet" remains a heartwarming tale and was a great way to kick off the second year of the Twilight Tober Zone. Comes highly recommended...through that door of imagination 🚪... in the Twilight Zone. 🎺🎼🎵🎶

The glasses effect actually makes it more like he's invisible so when he gets closer that is when one can see him but nobody gets that close to him so I think it works enough

Not only can you see Jack Klugman's reflection in mirror when he is invisible, but you can also see his shadow all over the place when he is moving.
