My church is doing a sermon series on Psalm 119, one section at a time. It's an idea when you get there.

I am having to put a thought for the day on this psalm for our midweek service and this outline has been useful. Another variation of meditation that we can use us Ignition contemplation where we let the words roll over in our minds as we open ourselves up to God. A new testament link to the main themes can be Galatians 5 where outlines the behaviours of both the wicked and the righteous. Many scholars believe that psalm 1 was not the opening psalm but something that was added later during the exile when the psalms were gathered together into seven collections. Psalm 1 was an introduction intended to give an overview of how we should approach the book. We should read and contemplate them as if we were the righteous as they will bring us closer to God.

I’m so glad to be on Psalm. Great breaking apart after all the kings from Chronicles, as you mentioned on this video.

I now understand the order & why we're now at Psalms, but I'm stuck at Job for a long time now. I've been through Job 3-9 about 3 or more times, including audio, and its just not sticking with me. I'm back at Job 3 today again, so i guess I'll go on reading until you start that book. Thanks for all your insights 👍

LOL Thank you for not putting it in color and saving us all money. We can color it ourselves. Secular meditation is empying ones mind; absolutely not biblical. And what is the Hebrew word used for meditate? I tried searching for it, and one translationg came back as Jehovah, which I don't think is 100% accurate, but probably the meaning fo the translation. Which makes sense.
