so this is from the artist's website:
"All the music and sound effects were composed, created, mixed and mastered by myself. The soundtrack consists of over 75 minutes of original music and world ambience. There are over 230 sound effects for the game. At the beginning I would not have believed that I would have stood in fields at night to record wind in the trees, burnt fence panels, recorded lawnmower engines, and recorded shop security shutters opening and closing, it's been a revelation!"

The Factorio soundscape is so uniquely unsettling. Just that slow progression of verdant forests withering away to barren wastelands as the petulant smog of industry chokes the world dry. The soundtrack reflects that really well with how lonely and haunting it can feel at times

@Mohan Sandal Yes it is. And currently there is some C/C++ compiler features that allow optimised machine code. So maybe you can do few optimisations in your code by using assembly sometime but is it really worth it ?
In many case you can just try to change your algorithm. Reflect on the logic and the algorithm that you use (over and over) and find other kind of optimisation before doing assembly code.
In the world of computer programming there is some principle that help the developpers to do a good code that allow others to working on it : KISS principle (Keep It Simple and Stupid)

Some of them feel like you can go to another dimension in the game, but when you feel yourself in the game, its the factory expanding. Like dark matter, it will expand and as you expand the factory it expands faster and faster. Growing until you've reached the map's end, even then you expand the factory, no tile gone to waste. You don't feel time anymore. You don't feel hunger, sadness, or anger, only expansion. "The factory must grow. The factory must grow." You look around to find where the voice came from and see nobody is around you. The window next to you is dark, its night. You look at your bed. It looks comfortable. You look back at your factory. "I need more gears" You mumble. You tell yourself to do one last task then go to bed. It's been 12 hours. You fixed the gear problem 11 hours ago. "The factory must grow. The factory must grow," you mumble over and over again. Your family is worried. They tried yelling at you, grabbing you, and then gave up. They come in every once and a while to check in on you. "The factory must grow," you mumble as responses. It's been days. It's been weeks. The factory will always be demanding something new. Everything needs more. Iron production low. Copper wire production low. Red circuit production low. Finally, after weeks, you get off. Everything flashes back to you at once like a slingshot being pulled back every second you where gone being released onto you. You pass out right at your desk. Even in your dreams, you find yourself saying "The factory must grow" over and over again. When you wake up, you see your playtime in factorio. 2688 hours. You check your phone. 1300 messages from friends, family, and spammers. You decide it's best to delete factorio, as it already has done enough. You fix everything in life. Everything seems great from a friend's perspective, but deep inside, you know the factory is calling you. At night, you hear voices say "The factory must grow" over and over again. Nothing will ever get rid of the factory. You can never escape the factory.
    *"The factory must grow"*

I liked a certain project, where coal from the mine was picked up by an array of auto-smelters, then into a row of chests and into a chemical plant, then from the last chest onto a track that transported the coal to the boilers. Oh, and also dying dozens of times to biters. Ah, my first time with this game.

What's funny is... if someone asked me "How many tracks are in the Factorio BGM?", I'd reply with "I don't know, seven or eight?". You tend to play this game for so many consecutive hours that you'll hear the entire soundtrack loop several times in one sitting, which produces that illusion since you'll hear them all repeatedly.

You crash on an alien world, looking over the burning wreckage of your ship. You scavenge what you can, and begin walking through the wasteland you’re surrounded by. Wind whistles through dead trees, and you think to gather some wood for your own use. You’re an engineer, clad in the equivalent of tissue paper. Your hard hat and basic protection does little to reassure your nerves. You think you can hear the sound of something organic clicking in the distance. You are left with no choice.
    The Factory Must Grow.
You find a spot, not too far away with exposed veins of ore, coal, and stone. There’s a lake nearby, filled with fish. The fish are actually quite pleasant cooked. You suppose there are worse things to subside off of. You tap the ground for its wealth by hand, harvesting barely enough to get basic machinery working. Iron and Copper becomes plates, which is changed into an infinite number of products. You are painfully, crushingly alone.
    The Factory Must Grow.
You rig-up your first set of electric equipment, drills and labs. Soon, basic automation follows suit. You breath a sigh of relief, however brief. You can finally rest a little easier, now having the certainty of your machines to rely on, instead of your hands. Iron and copper are fused in assembly machines, forming a red liquid you pipe into laboratories to fuel your research. All the while, your map details a growing cloud of pollution from your gains. Can’t be too bad, right? You continue regardless.
    The Factory Must Grow.
Days later, you’ve established a proper automated base of operations. Bugs that bite menace you, but you erect turrets to lay waste to them. Their grey husks lay deceased outside your factory walls. You watch as your machines whir to life again, constructing trains for long-range transport. You can’t help but wonder what new avenues this allows for. Your starter patches still lie abundant, but you need more space, more ore, more everything.
    The Factory Must Grow.
Days turn to weeks turn to months. You’re no longer alone, more or less. Automated robot helpers buzz about your factories, repairing and restocking as you deem fit. They’re not alive, but they’re better then the bugs. The insects have grown stronger, but so have you. Exponentially stronger. Turrets that belch great streams of fire and energy beams line your walls. Even the behemoth bugs that once could break you in half are laid waste. They are nothing. Less then nothing. You’ve stopped looking at the stars as much, recently. Stopped dreaming of your grand return home nearly as often. The idea of eating something other than fish is almost as alien as the planet you reside on. Your mind is consumed with the comforting howl of wind, infinite designs for new, more grand belt schemes. Your every thought is devoted to improving productivity. Sure, your trains can carry a lot of resources, but can they do it faster? Do it better?
    The Factory Must Grow.
Months turn to years, and you stand before the rocket silo. It’s been what feels like forever since you’ve seen another human, yet you remain sharp. The insects have been practically eradicated, relegated to sparse cells that would be a waste of an atomic device. A spider-shaped robot sits idle, towering above the factory. You don’t even need walls anymore. You watch as the last of the rocket fuel is inserted into your escape. Is it an escape? Were you ever truly trapped at all? Your hand hesitates over the ladder. This factory… it’s been your purpose, your soul, for however many years. Your power-armor clad head turns suddenly, noticing a gap in the line of iron plates being produced. Perhaps… perhaps you could still optimize a few things. You’ve waited this long, you can wait a little longer.
    The Factory Must Grow.

Factorio is one of really few games these days where game is about playing. There was a term in my language for 80s games which i could translate to "honeyness". Honey is sweet and sticky, also it's eyecathing when it slowly flows. So were these games, player character consisted of 64 pixels but i've simulated fever to not go to school and play all day long.
Same is true with factorio, i am almost 40yo but i feel like a kiddo when i am setting up semaphores to automate resources' transportation beteen mines and processing plants.
Music is same story, i was playing demo version for a week or so, not to win just to fool around in "abandoned railbase" level 5, there wasn't single time that music was boring or annoying.

That feeling, you finaly get drons after hours and say what a messy large base. After another days you build trains then zoom out and start searching for original base. And after another days:,, where is that pixel of my original base on the map?" One of the few games where you don't have to turn music off.
