    Great project. I have a question. When somebody walk up or down, in start first nearby sensor will trigger the light and when he will reach to other end then other sensor will trigger the light. So if delay is 10 secont then it will start after second trigger?

      Hi,
      Motion sensors are adjusted. you can adjust the ignition time as well as the sensitivity.
      Yes, if it reaches the top, they light up again and vice versa

    Sooooo, when the sensors since a light source the LED’s turn on? Are we to reverse the leads so that the LED’s turn ‘on’ when a light source is absent? 🧐 Asking for a ‘friend’.

    This is exactly what I need but in Australia the cabling is different.. we have three cables for power and the sensors I have found have Active, Neutral and Load.. which I can see with this video also - just not sure how this related back to 240V for Australia? plus I was thinking of doing this with strip lighting and they only have + and -.

    hello great tutorial. I have a question, is something else, e.g. arduino needed for this connection? are these motion sensors and LEDs enough for proper functioning?

    • @royurick
      @royurick 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Is FAR more reliable than AI. The more simple, the more reliable.
      I did this and actually skipped the motion sensor because I would have false positives and the stairs would light up when somebody walked down the hall at the top of the stairs. Or I would have to mask the sensor with tape so that the first step would have to be blind into the darkness before the sensor picked up the person walking down the stairs.
      Instead I put the lights on a timer. They are always on from dusk to dawn. And they are dimmed LEDs, so the electricity cost is minimal.

    If I have a motion sensor switch at the top and bottom of my stairs, what happens if I trigger the bottom sensor and then quickly trigger the motion sensor at the top of the stairs. Will it turn the light off or will it stay on.

    Nice Video abd generally current is color blind... But nevertheless there are unified color standards for electric installations... mixing black and blue is critical. Blue (N) wire should never be connected to L!

      Be careful. My electrician said he has seen failures of the wago and other push connectors. The spring steel is not reliable and sometimes fails over time. He refuses to use anything but the traditional wire nuts like this.

    So wait, you can't even show it working without those PIR caps? Let alone set up in a stairway? Yeh - no this won't work. Multiple PIRs won't work, they will not be triggered in succession, most will trigger at the same time, this is useless...
