Playing the William Tell Overture running up the sandy bank was genius.....edit guy take a bow!
Yep he’s a bloody genius! 👍
A lot of bullbar manufacturers should put slots on the aerial mounts makes removal easy as radios never work as well with a joint in them imo .
Totally agree from memory an old arb bar I had did have a slot but this tjm one does not 😪
In hindsight I should’ve cut a slot into it before sending it off considering they were re painting it 🤷♂️
You’ve given me an idea. I’m going to fit my own winch soon, I’ll cut a slot into the UHF mount so I don’t have to pull out the coax cable which I’ve tied off high up behind my head unit.
Great episode! You picked the right time to go - late season and dry, low water and not many people.
I’m a motor loss assessor and sadly that UHF BS isn’t uncommon. You boys have ABN’s, invoice your insurer under that claim for the repair- they can open the claim and cash settle you. Then they’ll stick a negative supplementary into the repairer for that amount. 😂
Yeh great time of year. Can be risky with the wet but we got really lucky 👍
Yeh it’s a joke… that’s not a bad idea at all 🤔
18:10. High ho silver awayyyyy.........18:13 High ho silver awayyyy. Thats sending it. I remember at a sandy hill up the cape years ago 5 utes trying time and time to conquer this hill off a creek. 1st one up had to tow the other 4. Funny part we were all strangers who just couldn't make it up that flamin sandy hill. The iron range/ pascoe/chilli beach/ was terrifying after rain but a highlight. full on 4x4 for that era. Great episode again fellas.
It was bloody soft sand! but mostly the auto in the ranger kept changing gears at the wrong time and killing momentum. Marc has done some research and worked out how to lock out gears for future attempts. Yeh I would imagine that would get pretty wild out that way after some rain! Sounds like a bloody fun trip! 👍
Good to see Marc give Baxter a drive, can’t say he looked to happy abit it though.😂
He’s tarnished the rangers reputation forever… 😂😂
That opening scene 😂😂😂 Also, that transition into the leaving camp with that music.... Well done Phil, smooth as a baby's bottom!!
Great stuff as usual from Philm! 👌
We love the banter boys!
Thanks mate.
Always a great watch fellas!
Thanks mate!! 🍻
Very good, very good 👍🏻
Thank mate! Cheers! 🍻
You guys are a crack up. Awesome episode fellas. Hey, when was this, January.., February? It looked pretty quiet!
Cheers mate!
This was about the 25th of November last year.
Only saw 3 or 4 other cars on the whole Tele track. It turned out to be the perfect time of year to go but we were really lucky with the rain. It started a week or two after we left and hasn’t stopped.
@@TrueNorthAdventures ahh awesome, yeah I'm trying to work out a time to get up there. Cheers mate
Great vid. Enjoying this content greatly.
Brilliant musical editing.
Still undecided if this channel is a genuine 4wd adventure channel or just satire.
Is Marc related to Mark Zuckerberg? Like the funny cousin?
Looking forward to the next instalment.
Cheers mate!! Glad you’re enjoying it!! 🙌
We’re not sure on that either 😂😂 we just be ourselves and try to make sure every ep has a few laughs and seems to be working 👍
Don't feel bad Stevie, I too hit one of those stupid, too low, invisible poles (possibly even the same one) at FBF a couple of years back. Put a big dent in my rear bar but no panel damage - a bit embarrassing though, eh? Great series boys!
Thanks for the moral support mate! The boys haven’t let me live it down yet 😂😂😂
@@TrueNorthAdventures I bet. Fortunately I was doing the trip solo, so there were no witnesses!
awesome episode guys👌
Thanks mate! 🍻
Awesome Ep and spots gents and so funny you buggers are
Cheers Craig! 👍
“IOU on a corn flake packet”…. This I understand!
It’s basically a contract!
Celebrate pies, beer, swim, life. We'll said Marc. Enjoy it while it lasts boys! Love watching it.
Once the rug rats land, it's a different game.
Cheers mate! Thanks for watching 🍻
Kids are already on deck mate. We just have the best wives in the world (hopefully they read this as we need some points to go on our next trip 😂)
Was this trip done in October? There’s no one else around & the water is so low in many places. I’ve been 3 times, Aug, June & July. Wouldn’t mind a September trip though when it’s warmer & fewer people.
Hey mate. This was late November 2023 👍
That’s what you call a ranger send it 😂😂😂😂😂
🍻yeah just got to sort out how to stop the gearbox trying to change when we are in sand, then there really will be no need for the cruiser to come along.😂
Hi Stevie, what tyres, size brand and model do u run on the 79, thanks 13:25
Hey mate. They are a Toyo MT 295/70/17. Been running the Toyos for about 7 years now and really like them 👍
Lucky it was only a pole...for a second there I thought Phil was dead 😬
Haha, he lives…
18:37 with a short run up like that, are you able to lock the auto into a gear before you hit the climb?
No even in the “manual” mode it still decides to change gear for you if it’s revs get high.
There is a setting we forgot to try where you can lock out gears. Eg reduce it down from 10 gears to now only having the bottom 8 or 5 or 3 (in that scenario) I think then it won’t change.
The lock out is typically used when towing heavy trailers. It is recommended to just got up to 7 as 8,9 and 10 are overdrive gears and shouldn’t be used when towing big loads
Yeah right. I thought auto was superior for sand driving these days, but it might still have a few short comings in very specific scenarios. Even a top end lock out could change you down a gear if you back off the accelerator for a second. Cheers
