LCK new format is way too brutal and unforgiving... especially for late bloomers. As you mentioned, if Team Z end spring at 6th place, crawled their way to MSI and won MSI. Their start in summer will still be 🤕.
im not sure but i think if you win in that round to qualify to msi your seed increases like if you win first round you are 5th and the other team is 6th or something like that and if you win next you are 4th and the other team is 5th and so on
It's gonna be amazing for LCK viewers, But i wonder how the 6th place team will feel like. Like imagine. youre 6th, like he said, you go through 5th team, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd team just to get into MSi. then after you get back from MSI, yuore not even in the top 5 teams, youre in the lower 5 teams and you gotta do a triple round robin, and even if you get first in your group, youre only in playins (not playoffs). and after that, you gotta do more BO5 just to be in the play offs, then after that, you gotta then beat the other teams which you probably havent had much matches with cause they were in a different group, and just getting into Worlds will be so fking hard cause you gotta beat the top 5 teams like T1, GENG, HLE, KT, DK just to get a spot in Worlds (but if LCK doesnt get a spot from MSI), only 3 teams will go and being 4th will mean absolutely nothing cause there is no spot for 4th.
i think if you win in that round where you go through 5th,4th,3rd,2nd you become 2nd like every win increases your seed like if you are 6th and you win first round you are 5th then if you win 4th and then if you win 3rd and then if you get to msi you become second so you are in the legend group and also who loses is downgraded one seed

Honestly the LCK is going to be brutal for the 6th team no matter what. I mean imagine trying to make it to worlds when your competition is GenG HLE T1 DK and KT. Any format will be difficult just because that's how competitive the LCK has become.
If you can beat all 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd team, you probably wouldn’t be placed at 6th… it’s such a low possibility for that to happen. And if a team is able to somehow pull off this miracle run for a MSI spot, they’ll just have to do the miracle run again for the world spot, which is even easier for a 4 spots region.
I like the idea of the lck cup teams. I just started lol and lck this year, and while i watch every game, i am a gen g fan boy and only cheer for them. This way, when i watch, I'll always have a team to cheer for in the hopes my group wins amd our top 3 advance. Very cool way to incentivise me to get to know other players and cheer them on.
Since the triple Bo3 RR is within the smaller group, they don't play more games than a double RR with all 10 teams, but it's still a whole lotta games - especially the following play-ins and POs Bo5.

What i really love is that LCK one split format. Lot of shenanigans going on in between but its pretty simlar to standard sport whole years leagues that are extremely consistent, every game matter and cant just focus on one side of the season.
Personally I don't like this. Imo there needs to be a solid 10-12 weeks of off season after worlds for trades and players to have an actual life outside of the game. Worlds immediately into winter split seems like there's no off time at all. Too much games, not enough rest imo.

I generally the Fearless Draft change. I hope we see more of it in 2026. I'm just worried about game quality really going downhill with teams not picking their best champions anymore, especially in the early days of Fearless Draft, when teams have less experience on how to deal with that. LCK will probably be fine, but LEC 2024 was a complete shitshow, what is it supposed to be with Fearless Draft enabled?
Both LEC Summer and LCK Cup are set up so that the middle of the pack get extra stage games. It can often be an advantage just to have more games, and in previous LEC formats at least, it was often the top teams that got more stage time. It will be interesting if this results in a tighter pack of teams, skill-wise.
to summarise is this basically how Valorant does it with kick off, stage 1 and stage 2 basically, same with the international events too with the addition of this new one
I like LCk so much more than LEC. You should be rewarded for doing well in Spring. It is almost to your detriment to go to MSI in the LEC format because you end up “hungover” in the split that actually matters with no help from the prior split.
This means best teams will have to earn being top 6. Top 4, LEC needs to evolve imagine G2 with this format this year more changes of beating BLG. G2 needs to prove they can adapt,
"spring" is technically just old lck format without a grand finals , remember when skt was at the bottom of the king of the hill and they still won the finals vs griffin
New LCK format goes so fucking hard holy shit - Korea maintaining the fact that its going to be a full decade ahead of the rest of the industry an i fkn love it
LCK format is a complete burnout. That’s way too many games. Also more injuries like Faker’s might appear. Really pray for them, but also will watch it xd. Good luck LCK
I don't think it will change that much for the players in terms of how many games they play though. They practice playing solo q and scrims anyways even if they're not playing on the stage. It's just putting more of those practice games onto the stage.
The new LCK format is more meaningful and bonded to each other while The new LEC format is Just 3 different splits to qualify to different internationals😂😂😂
An upper bracket team can still qualify for worlds by losing two Best-Of 5s, hence dominating Best-Of 3s is enough when your region gets 1st or 2nd at MSI (most likely LCK/LPL)
Honestly I'm Hyped for the new LEC format, I'm Curious what the Americas league will be like but I'm mostly hyped for LPC to be a new major region, I really hope thats gonna be dope.
It's just an easy way to test 3 formats in 1 year and then they will probably take the one that got the best reception and continue with that one instead of testing a new format every year for 3 years
Either way there has to be two different formats minimum, because the time periods before the new international and MSI are significantly shorter than between MSI and Worlds.
He's not wrong about the amount of matches in the LCK Summer, I'm not sure why the LEC has a different amount of matches. I thought the LEC kept this Groups thing cause there was lesser time in Summer, but the LCK has an INSANE number of matches in the same time.
Wooow I am really really interested in LCK cup it feels like sports captain draft match where You have 2 teams (groups) of 5 players (teams) thats super cool. Thanks for the rundown.
Lck round 4-5 to me has the motto of "iron sharpens iron". My bjj coach used to say a black belt learns nothing destroying a white belt, and a white belt learns nothing by getting destroyed by a black belt, neither person gains any experience. Pick a similar skilled person for practice because iron sharpens iron. Very same for pro sports. Gen g gain nothing from stomping bro, amd bro cant learn anything. This way allows the top teams to constantly face the best in preperation for playoffs and eventually worlds, and the bottom 5 teams get time to actually improve by versing simmilar skilled opponents and not just stomped for multiple weeks straight.
LCK format means more LCK revenue, more competitive games, more headliner games but less giant killing chances, BRO rolling GENG, NS taking their mandatory game against T1 etc. Hope these lower teams are still alright financially with less marquee games.
My only complain about the LCK Cup format would be, that, you only practice against the other group, so for example, if GenG and T1 are in the same group, they'd never face off during the season, only when the tournament for international qualification begins, but, not a single time during the season.
@Caedrel you are coocked if you get a 2nd place in that msi group and go to msi you entry 3-5 as 2nd seed. Just like if you are 6th place and beat 5th you are now 5th and team that lost is 6th. It's like you need to defend your position first than after defending it you attack position above and if that team loss you climb up and he takes lower place in 3-5 split
So basically the only split that matters is summer. No one else going to worlds. I could see people benching their starters to save them for summer. I know if I were a coach, I'd let my bench play winter and spring.

Fearless draft will be such chaos I cant wait
only for the first split i guess
I think its soft fearless, which is kind of meh
Yay, clown fiestas for everyone! Who cares about high level play, just make every region a "for fun" region.
@@andresroncaglia7079 For LCK its hard fearless and it doesn't reset on game 5 so by game5 its 50 champs will be banned
@@Coco99021 I want to see Nilah Zil from that monstrosity dual that the World Champs force some poor souls in KDF taste last year
Before: I can neither confirm nor deny ill be at the O2 Arena.
Rat king streaming live at final, I wonder how many strays he will catch
If you go to wikipedia, T1 is already world champion of 2024
15:30 This already happened in Valorant VCT and it was pretty shit tbh... so basically they wanted to implement that in league and try to fix the problems Valorant had all 2024 season. Outside of that i like the Format of the LCK
LCK is so lock-in for next year
It hope its hard fearless and without reset in game 5. I really want to see player get more diverse and teams get more creative for their team comps. I wanna see them go DEEP in the tank
There is a 2 month gap between worlds and the LCK cup
@tbnrnoob1430 that's only 8 weeks. It's not enough time off imo especially when the season calls for back to back splits then worlds
@@tbnrnoob1430 2 months for them to sign with a new team, do photo shoots, film the LCK intro, get use to playing with new teammates if they have any, adjusting to a new coach if they get one, try to get a read on the meta, fulfill contract obligations such as streaming and then have to prepare for a new split. Oh and if you're T1 getting forced to play in a meaningless RedBull event.
@@TeamRocketRed ya I agree it's not enough time realistically but it isn't directly after world's
@@tbnrnoob1430 LCK contracts are set up so they expire a couple days after Worlds, meaning that even players not at Worlds are still under contract until Worlds is over so it basically is right after Worlds. The FA period that is.
I actually loved the new lck format it is spicyyyy
change the title to chat explains the formats to caedrel instead imo omE
PS: LCK Cup format incentivizes watching lower seeded teams' matches as well cause depending on who you support you re rooting for a bunch of other teams in your group to win as well so its pretty cool. I guess NS/BRO Fighting xdd
PS2: LCK Legend Group Cinema - bunch of top teams.. and damwon xdd
PS3: LCK Cup game 5 hard fearless Faker Zed Riven Prayge
LCK format looks so insanely fun to watch, somewhat complicated but so well tought-out
I generally the Fearless Draft change. I hope we see more of it in 2026. I'm just worried about game quality really going downhill with teams not picking their best champions anymore, especially in the early days of Fearless Draft, when teams have less experience on how to deal with that. LCK will probably be fine, but LEC 2024 was a complete shitshow, what is it supposed to be with Fearless Draft enabled?
winter u can play 19/33 games, spring is 27/52 games and summer 17/35 games total = 63/120 games
This means that lck will play 3 games per day? WTH Holy caedrel 16 hour stream 10x meal a day is real , mukbang
G2 needs to prove they can adapt,
Crazy how much better and exciting the LCK format is compared to the shit fest LEC managed to invent AGAIN
LCK Cup format seems fun
"spring" is technically just old lck format without a grand finals , remember when skt was at the bottom of the king of the hill and they still won the finals vs griffin
lck 2019 summer playoffs
I'll start watching once everything is fearless draft
all international tournaments need that fearless draft
New LCK format goes so fucking hard holy shit - Korea maintaining the fact that its going to be a full decade ahead of the rest of the industry an i fkn love it
o7 Mr. Editor, watched his reaction live and ngl i zoned out like 200% of the time
In the new LCK format if KDF, FOX, BRO, DRX or NS managed to get a top 5 in spring it'd be absolute cinema
The total number of games for top team won’t actually increase much.
Honestly I'm Hyped for the new LEC format, I'm Curious what the Americas league will be like but I'm mostly hyped for LPC to be a new major region, I really hope thats gonna be dope.
new lck format is super hype
LCK format changes are my favorite. Such unique style for winter FD while giving high amount of Bo3.
Not a fan of how it's 3 separate formats for the splits. Kind of dumb.
It's just an easy way to test 3 formats in 1 year and then they will probably take the one that got the best reception and continue with that one instead of testing a new format every year for 3 years
@@Civtachopefully 3 splits is trash , just too much , hopefully they go back to 2 splits aswell in ranked
@@tryfergoodra552 they're having 3 splits in pro play because there's also gonna be 3 international tournaments next year (Winter, MSI, Worlds)
Either way there has to be two different formats minimum, because the time periods before the new international and MSI are significantly shorter than between MSI and Worlds.
@@plebbutter3811 Won't it be March - July - October? Two months between each event?
Legit LCK looks so sick, the most consistent teams really get rewarded!
I think LCK overcooked this one. Exciting though!
Lck groups is basically cross teaming lmao, it’s crazy. I like it
LCK playing 4D chess on a 3D board
LCK making their lower tiers work their asses off. Too tiring but will produce good result instead of being in the top and waiting only
He's not wrong about the amount of matches in the LCK Summer, I'm not sure why the LEC has a different amount of matches. I thought the LEC kept this Groups thing cause there was lesser time in Summer, but the LCK has an INSANE number of matches in the same time.
Really looking forward to the LCK cup, the format is really cool and unique.
That LCK format is definitely a "Let them cook" situation.
I just realized, if Gen G didn't win MSI this year then we wouldn't have T1 at worlds let alone the finals this year 😂.
T1 wiped floor with choky geng good thing that t1 is at worlds cause blg would also stomp geng
Lck has 4 seeds already though?

Wooow I am really really interested in LCK cup it feels like sports captain draft match where You have 2 teams (groups) of 5 players (teams) thats super cool. Thanks for the rundown.
lck looks rly fun actually im mega excited
damn the LCK formats are so confusing lol
1 trophy is much better than 3 trophies
I kinda feel bad for the players. Its almost like they gonna play double amount of games
Lck 6th place team has potential to play like 100 games just for playoffs 🤣
LCK format gives off massive blue lock vibes, so unforgiving and brutal HOLY
LCK format means more LCK revenue, more competitive games, more headliner games but less giant killing chances, BRO rolling GENG, NS taking their mandatory game against T1 etc. Hope these lower teams are still alright financially with less marquee games.
LCK format looking mega crazy so hyped for it. And LEC format looking little better (except winter BO1).
My only complain about the LCK Cup format would be, that, you only practice against the other group, so for example, if GenG and T1 are in the same group, they'd never face off during the season, only when the tournament for international qualification begins, but, not a single time during the season.
LCK format looks sick
lck amount of games is too much!! i hope it changes before winter cup
Holy Bo5s. I hope the players well.
Holyyyy the golden road for LCK is going to be crippling hard. May the burnout not destroy them. Hope the players get enough rests.
LCK Cup is cool, I expected it to be just like another Demacia Cup but its unique
