It's truly amazing, how such technically difficult piece, can be played in such tempo!...here you have such challenges for both hands, and the rhythm and structure of melody line jumping all the time, makes it even harder! Bravo!
Amazing Video and interpretation ... I was lucky to see him live in a concert in Caracas, Venezuela... He is one of the most important classical guitar player in Venezuela on this time
Amazing job on this piece. I would love to learn it someday. It has a very strong rhythm. I'm very impressed with your left hand technique; those stretches seem very difficult.
Such a perform!!my dear friend Dimitris,I really thank's with you.thakn's fot sent me the score of this amazing piece''I'm studing so hard in order to play this Venezuelan piece.. I promise you broadcast my video playing pajarillo..my best regard take care and we still keep in touch
Both airs belong to the musical genre Joropo, a typical music and dance from Venezuela, other Joropo airs are Quirpa, Carnaval, el Gabán (a bird from the venezuelan llanos (plains), la Chipola (onion in Italian), el Gavilán (a kind of sparrow hawk). Joropo can be acompained with a 32 stringed venezuelan harp (Joropo Llanero), cuatro (venezuelan four stringed guitar) and maracas. In Miranda, Aragua, we have central Joropo, which is played with a 36 stringed harp and maracas
totally.. you well defined "the pajarillo".. en Venezuela the type of genre "pajarillo" es the minor version of the genre "seis por derecho" but with other variations
@randyshoai Totally agree. Comparing Hendrix or any rock/pop guitarrist to virtuosos such as Williams, Vidovic, Russell or so many other classical players or to the flamenco masters such as Paco de Lucia, Nino Miguel or Paco Cepero is like comparing Rod Stewart with Pavarotti.
@AntonioBello Who? Demitris or Luis? I first heard this over two decades ago. More like 30 years ago when Luis gave a recital in London. I think I saw him only once more after that again when he was in London. But I believe Luis took this piece a bit slower which I think Demitris would do well to take heed. He is a wonderful player of course but pyrotechnics is not always the best way of impressing an audience. But still he really played this extremely difficult piece quite well.
@tcalpotura in venezuela there are many differents joropos with a totally different harmonic cycle and different ruthms, so pajarillo is different from seis por derecho and seis numerao, and chipola, and etc etc etc..... making a comparisson, sonme great musicians such as Miguel delgado estevez, or Miguel angel borsch who have been doing field research on venezuelan music, says that there exists about 70 different types of joropo... can you imagine???... :D
Muy bien interpretado pero yo diría que es una variación del "Seis por derecho" de Antonio Lauro pues tiene frases iguales y la base rítmica es la misma.

Listen to Costas Cotsiolis rendition, it seems to be the right tempo in your words,

Really hard. The rhythm is so sophisticated and naughty in good term!...

No debería comentar cuando no está seguro de lo que se dice hermano. Ambas son Joropo pero la diferencia es evidente. Saludos desde Colombia.
