The main composer,on that game, Miyagawa Hiroshi, was very prolific! He worked on Uchuu Senkan Yamato (I think it's Starblazers in US), Maettel, and lots of random T.V. shows. Check Matsuken Samba II for one of his weirder, and later, songs.
@@VideoGameEsoterica Uchuu Senkan Yamato means Space Battleship Yamato. It's a Leiji Matsumoto anime and manga. Leiji Matsumoto was a huge name in the 70s anime/manga world, up there with Gundam. Really prolific artist and dearly beloved. Venerable old master. Space opera was kind of his thing. Maybe you've heard of or seen Galaxy Express 999 or Captain Harlock, those are two more Matsumoto series. He has a unique style--you can instantly tell when you are looking at a character that Leiji Matsumoto designed, because nobody else does it quite like he does. Very cool if the composer for this game worked on Yamato!
Thanks for highlighting some PC FX games, think this is gonna be the one I try out first. Seems to be a solid looking walkthrough that helps to explain stuff a bit, but man if this is ever translated I would love to play through it that way. Hope to see more PC FX from your channel someday! But if not looking forward to whatever else you might be working on. Happy New Year :)
This definitely seems like a PCE CD game that was ported over at some point in development. The game is from the Startling Odyssey devs and even the sound effects sound like they're from a PCE.
Glad to know this one is approachable! I haven't played much further beyond the boss fight in the forest so far. Have you messed with the different interface options? I noticed you could change like how the attack icons were displayed that were more non-Japanese user friendly since they just use pictures instead of text. This is one of those games I'd really like to have a manual for, but I haven't looked into how much it costs in recent years.
Yeah it’s def IMO the most approachable “Japanese language only” RPG on the PC-FX IMO. That’s not to say it’s easy but compared to Boundary Gate where language AND spatial awareness can be hurdles, this has plenty of walkthroughs online to complete it Def worth the effort. I thoroughly enjoyed it when I beat it in like 2010 I believe
Grabbed this one recently to play when I’m done with Team Innocent! The music is awesome, but so far, seems a little out of place at times. Not sure I need a grand dramatic epic while walking around town… Are you planning to cover Sparkling Feather? It’s the one other PC-FX game I’m considering buying, but I’m on the fence.
Not at this time no. Next weeks episode is the last for PC-FX for awhile if not ever and it's not Sparkling Feather. But I do bring back series randomly for a video here and there so you never know!
The sprite work is fantastic. This and Son of Evil for the Super A’can just beg for translations.
I need to try to find a A'Can eventually for the series. Def not an easy task though

I'll have to check it out. Def not familiar with the name or those properties but I am into his music in this game!
@@VideoGameEsoterica And now I can't confirm if he's on the credits... pretty sure he was on other games from rayforce! Check Matsuken Samba anyway!
I def will. Always fun to find out who worked on what

I’ll have to look into these. My knowledge of anime related things starts and ends with Lupin the Third
I've had my eye on this for a long long time! Praying for a translation.
Hopefully one day!
I hope someday this game get ported/remaster to switch (or pc/new consoles) because it's a really fantastic game.
That would be awesome but I won’t hold my breath. Not even sure who remembers it now

A new series starts tomorrow but I am sure PC-FX will appear again one day :)

Quite possible

A pretty interesting looking RPG!
Yeah it’s def unique and worth checking out. Also damn did I have a rough day at work and your avatar of that dude from the paintings made me laugh 😂
