    Great bike had one recently and did full exhaust, Dyno tuned, with stage 2 DNA airbox setup, fun bike but will always be way slower than a 600cc inline 4. Had my R7 for 6 months did a lot to it and traded for an R1. Bike killed it in corner but got walked on the straights like it was standing still by all the inline 4s. Again great bike but I WASTED a lot of money on mine trying to just get 90HP out of her and didn’t even get that.

      @@ScoutsOut yeh, we have earth, line (live) and neutral some installations like boilers and stuff like that have up to 5 wires, idk if you have different 3 phase to us but i know your single phase wiring is different.
      basically single phase is domestic properties (homes) & 3 phase is industrial/commercial (motors (for conveyor belts and stuff like that))
      this is Not important dont have to read it:
      i studied electrical installation at college but i didn't do apprenticeship and i got level 3 diploma which doesn't help get a job (its a long story why it is worthless but the reason it is, is because we have a terrible system for getting into industrial jobs especially electrical jobs and college doesnt tell you about it until after you have spent years to pass the course that doesn't help you
      also back to the extra wire, we have the extra wire (earth) because of health and safety

    Hey brother! I’m late to this vid lol. So I have a Toce exhaust on mine and it pops a lot on deceleration of even when I’m upshifting it’ll pop sometimes. You think this would kind of resolve it? I’m just wanting the bike to run a bit smoother. Have you noticed a great difference in this tune?

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      To be clear I only did the unrestricted tune. It does not add or change fueling so it will not make the bike go faster. Technically with the engine braking reduction the bike does run much smoother and barely pops anymore which is was a benefit from the reduction in engine braking. The bad part of using the FTECU is needing to know how to tune the bike which is not easy.
      The easiest route to take would be to send in your ecu to get it flashed. The companies that due that will have a generic tune for the intake/exhaust you have and ask you if you want engine braking reduction etc…
      Sorry long winded hope this helps

    Are you table top tuning only or have you purchased the Autotune kit from them as well with their lambda 02? I see a single map on their website for stock R7 22' as well as one for the 21'. How robust are the maps available for different components ie pipe specific maps and how comfortable are you with doing pulls and adjusting parameters. In your review you mostly focused on settings you wanted adjusted such as eliminating the decel engine cut. Most of their website including installation instructions and other are restricted unless you purchase the item which is a weird marketing strategy as some people will be hesitant to purchase without knowing the technicals of what they are getting into and in exploring the versatility differences between FTECU flashes and entities like PC6 or RapidBike Evo.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      I used the bike side harness and made a full install of how to install it so people will know what they are getting into but I agree it was annoying not seeing how to install before buying but install are easy to me. As for the tune, it comes with the stock map and there generic unrestricted tune. (I was most interested in dropping some engine braking and getting to bike to run better) I am not knowledgeable on how to adjust it myself. From my understanding you can get other tunes and use them with the FTECU, I watched a vid of a dude using a powercommander map (I haven’t tried that). I also did not get the 2nd o2 sensor

  • @1000750
    @1000750 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Stoked, crazy how you can adjust the engine braking, when I went from a 2 stk moto to a 4 stk the engine braking took getting used to but I kinda liked it and miss it now I'm back on a 2 stk, never really did any serious street riding with a bike that had a lot of engine braking but I did slam down gears to get some into corners. Was the DB reducer in after the tune? 🤙

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      I know right, I didn't know you could do that either until I talked with Brice Prince from BPR tuning when I was at the track. Once he said it could be reduced I was all in, I think its a characteristic of twins that just have a ton of engine braking. no DB in.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn’t take all the popping out, popping only comes from an engine not running correctly or getting optimum power output, but I agree it does sound cool. It’s not a perfect tune for the yosh and dna it just makes it run better and yea removes a lot of the popping cause it just runs more efficiently

      No worries, and yes it is. I was interested in the power commander but no one will ship it to California. Once i found the ftecu i realized it’s basically the same concept with more flexibility in what you want to do with the bike. I believe you can even download power commander pre made maps and use ftecu to upload them, I haven’t tried this yet but I’m sure i will in the future. @@ScoutsOut I watched you do the dyno, and I also watched Moore mafia dyno the r7, and he got 71hp out of an after market exhaust no tune. Since you didn’t get any real gains from the FTECU is it still worth the money? ( aside from the engine breaking )

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      He did tune the r7 in his video to get to 71hp, the FTECU is not the best way. You would save money and get a real tune by sending your ECU to a professional. I only got less engine braking and lower fan temps with the FTECU

      @@ScoutsOut I thought he got the 71 hp on the dyno from the exhaust without tuning then say the AF ratio and tuned that. Could be wrong though! I appreciate this information, might try sending the ecu in if I have time this winter! Much appreciated

    I love the popping of the Yoshimura 😭 I’m thinking about doing a tune. The engine braking is ridiculous, I hit 130mph and let off and it slowed be down to 115 in second without brakes applied. I don’t always wanna do 130mph but engine braking is an issue for sure. Thinking I’m gonna do lm gonna do clutch lever/front brake lever and fender elimination first. Thinking about getting the same levers you got, can’t find another set.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea the popping was cool, but I prefer a better running bike for sure, and that engine brake reduction 👌🏼. Don’t buy the levers I got, ASV finally has there set out I would get those instead

    As I understand the R7 runs 38mm throttle body’s
    The RS 660 runs 48mm .
    Until you enlarge the R7 throttle bore then a “map” ,exhaust , is not going to give a significant increase, it’s why no R7 entered the TT this year the current rules forbid boring of the body’s.

    • @ScoutsOut
      @ScoutsOut  ปีที่แล้ว

      that would make sense and why I didn't see a significant gain in power just a better running bike in general. I'm super happy with it and the engine braking reduction

    I did a dyno jet pcm and the revxtend revs it out to 11k. We put a MWR air filter on it too and mapped it out to the max. According to the dyno the R7 after we messed with it hit 161MPH in 6th gear after 1.1 minutes. The dyno may be under/ over reading though since my stock hp figures before tune according to the dyno was 39.9hp and after tune 68hp.

    Hi bro ✌🏻, why you don’t try to change the trasmission of the bike ? I try with the pinion 15 and stay in 42 on the crown , but now is too much faster in the first 2 gear for the rpm of the bike , in 3 and 4 it s awesome . I think that the perfect mash up it 16 pinion and 43/44 on the crown , with a racing trasmission around 200 dollars or euros ( i m from Italy) you can earn 2/3 hp and much funny when ride. I ask to you because i like your tutorial and i see that you like to experiment many thing on the R7 👍🏻
