- DMU cab ride (class 101?) special journey via freight only line from Loughborough to Burton on Trent in connection with the open day at Coalville TMD. Filmed in 1990. No commentary just cab chat.
Another beautiful video of aline in the Midlands. Thank you.
These are great videos, thanks for sharing 👍
Great stuff, for which many thanks. Good to hear the cab chat in the east Midlands accents of my wife's family. Some quality whistling too.
interesting right at the beginning to hear the views on Brush Traction's class 60 and 89
I remember going along that route in the late 1970s on a Merrymaker Adex from Leigh on Sea to Chester - there was a steam loco shunting in Castle Donnington Power Station.
Was great to ride this route during the Derby Summer 2018 works, but north of Trent via Toton down to Burton.
Even more amusing during the same works to myself anyway, was services from Nottingham, terminating at Long Eaton.
Can only be a met cam 101 with the speed it got upto that quick
There’s quite a few things it could be, any power-twin will get a move on if it’s driven well. The Coalville open day shuttles tended to be a 116 or 117 or similar.
Any idea why a DMU was on that route, please?
It was a special service run in conjunction with an open day a Coalville TMD
