I love learning the KFC trivia and history! Actually back in the early 90s when I was going to college, the KFC all you can eat buffet was available in our restaurant. I went there with my mom several times and you could basically pay one price and there was no time limit you could just sit there and eat chicken all day if you wanted LOL I wish they still had the apple pie and the strawberry shortcake which they got rid of, and I remember one time being able to try some of their other sides that we don't have on the west coast like greens and baked beans, really depends on what area of the country you are as to what you're going to get and in Canada the coleslaw was completely different and they even had poutine as a side! Love it!

The Colonel's trademark black bow always looks like a little stickman body to me, especially because all the marketing materials usually isolate the head and the bow and omit the rest of the body so it looks like a comically oversized realistic head on a dinky stickman body.
The colonel had something to do with pressure cookers to help speed up cooking. I can’t remember what it was. I remember hearing about how customers would get tired of waiting and would leave before the food was finished cooking.
How could he get 11. I know he cut the breast into 3 pieces instead of 2 but that means 3 breast, 2 legs, 2 thighs, 2 wings. Thats 9. If dont see where it would be 7 really. The chicken is symmetrical. So if you dont have the center breast thing that they did at KFC its still 8. I dont even think they do the center breast anymore anyway.

I live in Kentucky, and prior to COVID-19 most locations had an all-you-can-eat buffet. I'm not sure if this is unique to just Ky and Japan, but I figured most places did this.

I live in Japan. It's very real. Almost every single person in Japan equates Christmas with KFC. If you can't afford to wait in line at Xmas, the grocery stores are chock full of chicken, fried or otherwise, for Xmas.

Can’t remember if it was the late 90’s or early 2000’s , but somewhere around that time there were 2 all you can eat (buffet) style KFC’s in Western Australia. One in Maylands and the other in Morley. I also remember every Pizza Hut in the area was also all you can eat . Don’t see that anymore….

I used to love KFC but now I find that there is no uniformity of taste between stores here in Toronto. Some outlets seem to not change their oil fast enough or maybe cook at wrong temperature or something and the chicken ends up really greasy. Others still make yummy chicken. I also miss the Grecian Bread they used to have back in the day.

They've got one near Tokyo too. I thought it closed down, but just checked, and it's still open. About 2000 yen ($20 USD) for buffet lunch, including desserts, curry, bread, and the regular KFC stuff.
Yeah I was born in 71 and sometimes when mom didn’t want to cook she would pick up a bucket on the way home. Up until she died it was one of the few meats I could get her to eat. Protein became a problem to get her to eat. She had Alzheimer’s. The last couple months we couldn’t do KFC anymore because I gave her a piece one day and she ate half of a wing bones and all before I realized it. We didn’t do anything with bones after that. Sorry for the tangent but it made me think of it.
