I was watching the twitch streamer Mizkif last week and there was a while in his stream where he was just randomly watching TH-cam videos and yours, "Living (and the lack thereof)" came up on his recommendations. He watched like half of it then clicked off to another video. Idk why I'm telling you but thats how i discovered the channel.
I resonated with what you said so much I got cheated on by a girlfriend i had for 6 years and after that major loss I felt exactly the same way you felt after yours I’ve been exploring self improvement and your video was very helpful in the continuation of that process thank you ❤️
Self-sufficiency is extremely rewarding, at least that's what I imagine and strive for, since I am still on a journey to achieve that level of satisfaction, but I have already noticed many improvements.
The lyrics to a new Bring Me The Horizon song go something like "No one's gonna come and rescue me, I'm drowning in my sleep, The scars have got too deep, And no amount of love could set you free 🎵". I love that song
I love these videos. I honestly do miss the old youtube where you could sit infront of a camera and be completely real with the viewers, these days everything is about high production value and high editing when sometimes I just want to watch someone simply talking. Keep up the videos !
I've wanted to post TH-cam videos for a looong time but really struggled with overthinking and perfectionism After watching your TH-cam videos I decided fuck it and recorded a video off the cuff without overthinking and just posted it unedited Thanks for this, your videos have had a really positive impact. And yeah a discord community sounds cool 👍
That's really helpfull, really, I'm passing through some stress and people are begining to abandon me. Seeing that people walked the torn path to self acceptance and succeeded is reassuring. Wish the best to you all guys, stay safe.
The person doing this to others has problems and are not worth your time. You were likely "trauma-bonded" by this person which is this overwhelming-harrowing feeling of feeling 'afraid to live without them' or feeling unable to live without them. It is trauma-bonding. Its like being under a SPELL. Once you reclaim your power!- you will awaken out of it. **YOU** are still you! - and there is a world of healthy people who would want to share with you! YOU ARE FAR GREATER then this person! and you do not need them. They will be wishing they never let you go. Make sure you never allow them in your life again. KEEP AWAKENING out of their spell! Go forward confidently. You got this !
8:05 YO! That would be awesome, but maybe a little bit overwhelming for someone without at least a good couple of hours a day to put into it, but depends on how you're going to do it. This makes me remember about other community that did a Discord, and it's not like the youtuber in question wasn't in the chat, but it wasn't something "to talk to him" but more like a place where you could talk with other followers of the same youtuber, share experiences, etc. Kind of a "safe place" or somewhere where you could discuss stuff with reasonable people, since twitter or some other places to discuss arent as "civilized". You'd need to find someone that can handle a DS server like that though, wich could be easy with a small community, but with how you've been growing, i dunno.
Honestly, TH-cam recommendations are on point because this is shit I am currently going through with a friend group that are a bunch of trouble makers that go around stealing and do not do any good in their lives and I have another friend who always tries to help them but I tell him you cannot help someone that does not want to be helped, they have to save themselves and no one is going to save them. Also, I wanted to ask can I reference this video on my channel because I want to make a video about helping someone that does not want to be helped
The road to self sufficiency is definitely a path that’s challenging yet rewarding. Plenty of obstacles. But in return you realize how adaptive and resilient we are to our environment. That in itself forces us through any resistance to seek change. And change can be either good or bad. So long as you learned a lesson through the experience. I always tell anyone and everyone they are capable. Your journey may not be the same. But it will build more foundation for yourself. I don’t know everything still which is why I love taking in new things as a lesson. To grow.
Just discovered this channel, I think a discord server would be a great idea. Also, just throwing this here, but maybe you could involve the community in your videos; maybe by doing livestreams? That way it wouldn't be just you talking (although I don't necessarily think this is problematic) and maybe it will lead to fruitful debates and novel ideas. Expanding on your point about feeling overwhelmed by unfinished tasks, what I've personally found to be incredibly useful to write down what you need to do, step by step, to achieve your goal. This will make you rationalize it and realize that it's not as bad as you made it out to be initially. Now you can just execute your plan and contemplate your successses. As each step done is a small success on its own. For instance, if you want to be fit, maybe step 1 would be to do 5 pushups a day Once you're confortable with that, increase to 10 pushups a day, and so on (i have no knowledge in this field so please don't take this as actual fitness recommendation) Also, keep track of your previous successes. So that whenever you feel you can't do it, look at all you've already done. If you got this far, you can probably keep going.
6:56 Yeah, about that.. There's techniques about how to administrate properly motivation, how to make yourself give a 100% of effort into something, etc. Maybe you're skipping this part of psychology, but i'd love to input this, wich is quite interesting, and i'm not saying that depending on motivation is good, not at all, but if you can make yourself motivated to do stuff, it still is a win, since willpower is more like a muscle, it gets tired over time, so you can't depend on it either. There's this one long video about how to resist dopamine, wich is the hormone about motivation made by your brain. It's a little dense, but it's one of the first videos i've seen from that youtuber and it's something that really helped me get to where i am right now. The video is "The secret behind resisting dopamine" from HealthyGamerGG. He has quite the good content, sometimes mixes up psychology with neuroscience and meditation with it, and it all comes together.
This hit waayyy too close to home for me. 😳 However; it's exactly what I needed to hear, ya know? This vid was the very 1st on my home feed that YT's algorithm recommended to me. Consider me a new sub. L8
and most people will never save themselves because they just don't have the capability... at least you look good... imagine what your life would be if you were ugly... or worse yet... an ugly man.
this whole mentality of needing to feel motivated and productive all the time is such propaganda IMO. why? why do you have to be super productive with like 10 hobby's and 2 jobs? can we not just chill and enjoy ourselves? and this attitude is like drilled into our psyche at such a young age too we're made to feel bad when we're not a good enough cog in the machine. stop trying to fix yourself and do more things you actually like doing while chipping away at things you need to do. I think as long as you're not a burden on others and you're enjoying your time you're living your life just fine.
The feeling of having realized only you can save yourself is a memorable feeling. It is a very intimate moment with oneself. The only perfect love is from God who is big enough to forgive us of anything we have done, unconditional love. Jesus lived his whole life showing love and how to keep ourselves and others safe and died a miserable slow death so we can live in his paradise with him in heaven. Human love is unreliable and imperfect. Though we should be perfect enough to show our imperfect love.
This one hits really close. I was very lonely, hated myself, and thought that if I just got into a relationship and was loved, then I would be fulfilled. And then, by the grace of God, He sent me this wonderful girl who loved me so deeply, and I ruined it by throwing all of my insecurities and issues onto her. It took until like 4 months after we broke up to realize what had plagued our relationship and how it was completely my fault. You can't expect someone else to solve your internal struggles. You can't be happy with another person if you aren't happy with yourself. Over the past couple months, I started living for myself and not for the validation of others. I've felt much more fulfilled in my life because of this, but is unfortunate that it cost me a great person to learn it.
Overwhelming circumstances will appear and no amount of self mastery can save you from a crisis bigger than yourself. What's the point of consistency when you don't know what trials you'll have to master? There isn't any point and it does no one any good. These are just things that people who are too afraid to submit to the will of the world do in order to make them feel like they are in control. You're not in control, you'll never be in control, it feels good to say you could eventually get control but you wouldn't even want it if you had it. Control means responsibility. Responsibility means of all the awful things you might have to do you have to decide they were the right things to do. Read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings a couple more times maybe.
It was all within all along
The hardest part about building dreams with someone else is adjusting them to just yourself when you lose that person for sure.
also after the storm is an amazing song
Thanks for the subtitles. I need them cause im blind
When you want something in life you have to reach out and grab it.
Wish i had stumbled across your channel sooner. You have helped me more than my therapist.
You're right, a lot of good points here :)

i was gonna comment this lol. i've been listening to the album since it came out and it's sooo good!
You have such a way with words & articulation. I am loving your videos! Glad I came across your channel. 💙
Watching your video in 360p while you give life lessons about application of knowledge yo me gives you a bizarre nostalgia aesthetic.
