Nekros97 well I'm a baritone too and I still feel like I can sing a G4 a lot more effortlessly than the examples in this video and it really seemed like he was straining to reach these notes, it still just feels like he has very good control over his mix voice. I think that his voice is a bit higher when he speaks english compared to when he speaks swedish, I have the same problem because the swedish and finnish speaking tone are quite low to begin with.

Guys, range alone doesn't determine your vocal type. If that was the case, mostly everybody would overlap between vocal types. What determines vocal type is where your vocal break is between chest voice and mixed/falsetto or chest and fry/growl

This is the problem of using lyric voice types in popular music. People don't get it. You can literally sing up to E5 in head voice and still be a bass depending on your tessitura, tone and 1st-2nd passaggio

@@Kurdyukov87pianist The E2 that's normally put as the lowest note for basses is supposed to be sang with a lot of resonance. Those ranges are for classically trained singers that sing without any amplification over an orchestra.
If we consider only the range and nothing else, then someone like Casper Fox would also be a bass. He sang A1 in his cover of "Natural" and "Friends on the Other Side". The second one is actually a good representation of the difference between a tenor with access to low notes (and good morning voice) and an actual bass.

The thing people don't get with his technique is it's all in a 'pop' setting so he very well could be a natural baritone. He could. I don't think he is, but hitting a C5 or higher does not make you a tenor. Voice type and vocal RANGE are not the same Your voice TYPE does not really change much after puberty, but your RANGE and tessitura can change a lot with time and practice. You can sing in a tenor range regularly with support and a clear tone and still be a baritone naturally.

@@prefernoto4788 IDK about those other two but CeeLo is not agile enough or light enough by any means to be a Full-Lyric Tenor. Way too much power and squillo. A Spinto Tenor has the same height and brightness as a Lyric Tenor but it has more vocal weight making it more powerful. Which CeeLo definitely has ample power and vocal weight. Full-Lyric Tenors like Patrick Stump sound youthful and can make very light runs and can go up and down their range with ease. Now Light-Spinto Tenors like Roomie, Brendon Urie, and Adam Lambert are less heavy in timbre and have less squillo than the Dramatic-Spinto counterpart and less emotive. Also, I've noticed a theme with Light-Spinto Tenors and that is they can mix up to Eb5/E5 area usually pretty well. Hopefully that clears that up and you can better distinguish the vocal fachs.

To be honest he sounds like he could be a baritone to me. Contrary to what some say a baritone can also sound pretty light and hit high notes, like Roomie does, they don't all sound 'manly' automatically. You have to look at how comfortable he sounds singing certain pitches and at the 'quality' of the sound. In his case I'm not sure, but I wouldn't write him off as a tenor 100%.

Jonathan Martinez usually if you know you’re an alto, you have some type of training. Otherwise what are you labeling yourself as an alto for if you’re not singing at all? Also, range does not equal training at all. Somebody could have no training at all and have a huge range, while others could have a lot of training with a minimal range. I know plenty of altos who aren’t “trained” who can at least hit a D5 because it is within the range. Most females are able to hit middle C, which would mean that D5 is only and octave and one note. The average range of a person is usually an octave and a 1/2.

This vid is a bit old, but here I am, writing my vocal range. So, I growl from C2 to E2, I think, then, from F2 to E3 is a bit too low of a chest voice for me, then I quite easily sing F3 - E5 with my chest and mix voice, after E5 I need to go to falsetto, it goes to E6, even though I can't hold it properly. So am I considered a tenor? (Yup, I'm male)
