I really appreciate this podcast. I am a Christian but I can say I’ve felt “off” in my walk. After many many years God helped me realize that I was walking and relying on my own strength in my pursuit towards Him. John 15 which speaks of abiding in Christ and He’s True Vine helped me realize I can do nothing spiritual for Him ON MY OWN. When we try to work with our own effort and strength leaves us tired and broken down. You never feel like you can do enough! When the guest spoke about all the money, vision quests, sweat lodges she went through to ascend , it made me realize that this is the New Age’s version of works based salvation. Always looking to DO MORE which in the end never satisfies. I’m so thankful that Jesus Christ lets us KNOW Him and approach Him!! If we seek Him, He WILL be found by us. No need to look further, He’s our answer ❤ God Bless

Many years ago before I went into the occult and new age I went to yoga and I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had spiritual discernment to NEVER do it again. I felt extremely sick and uncomfortable and was adamant to never do it again even though I didn’t know why. Flash forward 25 years I get completely deceived and end up involved in psychedelics, new age, witchcraft, reiki etc Praise Jesus for pulling me out and saving me 🥹🤍🙏🏼🙌🏼

Thank you for sharing. I have been following Christ for 10 years but only in April of 22 did I get baptized. Since my baptism I have felt so convicted to renounce new age practices that still had a hold on my life. While watching this video I felt a compulsion to go through my jewelry box and get rid of things I once treasured and gave honor to- idols. I got rid of many crystals, half burnt sage, locks of my hair and anything that I felt convicted to get rid of. Thank you for your encouragement.

Iyengar founder and teacher of western yoga teachers says there is no separating of the spiritual effects from the assana/yoga postures, just assuming the posture regulate the breath with out conscious effort or will, this is what opens one to the gods or demonic deities associated with each posture.

  • @angelinamink9912

I'm reposting my comment because I'm hoping it was a computer glitch and not that Cultish can't tolerate a dissenting point go view. If you wan't to refute my arguments please do it in the comments instead of deleting my comment.
The hypocrisy of Cultish is sad. I purposely watched the martial arts show and the yoga show back to back. The lack of biblical reasoning and logic is shocking and irresponsible.
The martial arts show plays like an informercial guide on how to find a good class and thankfully teaches how to avoid the energy work that can leave you open to demonic spirits. Then the yoga show comes across as under no circumstances is there to be anything gained from the physical exercise of yoga. Both martial arts and yoga are built on eastern thought and energy work. They are practically "sisters" so to speak, so how can you be in favor of martial arts and against yoga? It makes no sense.
Durbin did a good job of explaining that the physical exercise can be separated from the spirit/energy work. Durbin argues there is much to gain for our military and law enforcement in the protection martial arts provides. I'd make that same argument for yoga in that it has much to offer the elderly, those suffering with chronic injuries, and limited mobility.
I understand your guest is a new believer and is very much afraid of what she just escaped. But it is very similar to the drunkard finding Christ and yet is still fearful to take a sip unbelieving that they have truly been set free. (Your example in your video on AA, not mine.) She also explains that the whole point of the workout is to get you to a euphoric state at the end as if that is a bad thing. Now I need to be afraid of 'runners high'? I need to avoid the endorphins that are a natural consequence of most exercise? God made our brains to work a certain way and it's pretty simple science that can be found in a high school biology book or health class.
Your show needs a disclaimer that a lot of opinions will be given and those opinions are not necessarily rooted in biblical truth. I am in agreement about staying away from energy work (i.e. reiki, remote viewing, meditation that's not to our Lord) and anything that will leave your spirit open and unprotected. Your guest claimed that even the stretches and postures leave you open because that's how thy worshipped their gods...as if their gods are real. They aren't! I won't live in fear of Vishnu or Ganesh, just like I don't live in fear of Apollos or Athena. Because they aren't real. Demonic spirits respond to an open vessel not a name we pick out or a stretch we do. The best protection is to not be an open willing vessel for demonic possession period! Fill your heart and mind with the Holy Scriptures and pray to the Lord. Elijah called on the Lord and the lesser gods (demons) were defeated. He is the same now as he was then. Call on the name of the Lord for protection. I will not live in fear that if I stretch a certain way I'm opening some sort or portal (it's just not that easy guys, ladies in the gym or pilates classes would be opening portals all day long). It comes down to the posture of your heart, not the posture of your body.

So many Christians I know actually justify their yoga practice and tell me they are focusing on God while practicing yoga. I know first hand the damage of the spiritual practice of yoga.

Leave them to God. My sister used to attend this church that I found to be a bit legalistic. They were nice people. They helped me when I was going through a rough patch, but that didn't change the legalism of the church and it was also a "pentecostal" church with the speaking in tongues and prophecy thing. I remember having a conversation with her about it, mainly the dress code thing, and she said she felt convicted by God to do it. I said to myself who am I to tell her what convicts her, so I prayed to God and said if it was wrong he would show her and get her out. It took a few years, but eventually she left. Just pray to Jesus and leave it to him and his timing.

Unfortunately I am not hearing her freedom from these. In this interview that her testimony or Christian conviction could be refuting these experiences but this interviewers are captivated with her experiences in these demonic traditions. More revealing would be to ask her what in these traditions deceived her caught her, more importantly what saved her soul.
For me 40 yrs had been on the same path till the LORD saved me, I feel this interview is too involved with the practices not what about them is not of God or Biblical and what she has learned about these, how she has been convicted since her salvation. It's encapsulated at the end some of her statement of faith. It's hell to be part of that past, praise God and bless her for leaving the new agism!
I have filled dumpsters with traces of idol worship from practicing yoga, Tibetan Buddhism, Reiki, Catholism.... as the LORD God would convict me my layers of false traditions and religion the parafinalia of worship and ritual, and years of books would be dumped. Nothing remains not of God, its so freeing.
