As much as I enjoy these videos, to be fair to Tanya, the anime reframes a lot of things about her to make her look a lot more evil than she actually is. for example, the guy she fired who pushed her in front of the train wasn't just fired because of bad performances, but because he actively embezzled money from the company and was harassing people at work, so it was actually much more justified that he was kicked out. similarly, the two guys she sent to die were giant d-bags in the novels. They thought they were so much braver and more deserving than anyone else that they were constantly harassing the soldiers who “weren't brave enough to volunteer” like them. Even worse, they actively ignored orders several times and repeatedly endangered the lives of everyone around them with their reckless behaviour. They were even called in by Tanya before and told to knock that shit off, yet they simply ignored her and continued to act like giant asses, so Tanya got rid of them to protect everyone else. calling Tanya evil isn't exactly right IMO, as she doesn't do things because she enjoys them or wants people to suffer. She does it, because it's the most pragmatic thing to do that will guarantee the best outcome for everyone involved. Yeah, her methods are cruel, but ultimately they ensure the least suffering for everyone involved in the long run. also, don't forget that being x is a dick. Spoilers for the light novel and potential future seasons, but it's explained in the books that the relic god gave to Tanya is slowly brainwashing her. Being x realized that he couldn't directly force Tanya to worship him, so he made it so that each time she uses the relic and calls on his power, it slowly brainwashes her to make her more obedient to him, while at the same time he manipulates events to force Tanya to call upon his power. For example, sending Mary souix to fight Tanya, who btw is being brainwashed by being x as well into become more and more vengeful and obsessed with killing Tanya, to the point she's an active detriment to her own people, simply serves to try to force Tanya into a situation where she is forced to rely on his power to survive, thus increasing the speed at which she's brainwashed.
Oh man, I agree, I love seeing "evil" characters like this and I really want to know how or if Tanya will figure out the brainwashing and then curse more. Also, I think the reason we see Tanya as evil is because, as you said, her methods of getting the job done is seen as cruel. Even if it's for a greater cause, our brains see that what Tanya is doing may be in the confines of her job and in the rule set, but it feels and looks morally wrong. Like, she really did indirectly kill both those men and did not regret anything. And although she may have wanted to give those soldiers trauma, she did want them to die and give up, so although she cares about her crew, it was more of a necessity than actual kindness...I think of Azula a lot where both where she may have some bond with her crew, it's more out of fear and how useful they are to meeting her goals.
1. Even in our world an underperforming employee would still be fired. So I don't see the evil in that one. 2. In the cartoon, it was obvious those two soldiers were thinking too highly of themselves.
Literally. Mary was self-righteous, psychotic and a greater danger to her allies than her enemies. She had none of Tanya's talent and only was a threat because "God" overclocked her past Tanya.

After the movie Mary goes to an America Mage research facility. America tries and fails many times to recreate the type 95 orb. It works and fails for Mary. The mechanics of the orb give you more power but it also forces religious belief on you. Basically it only works for non religious. Mary is already religious border on evangelical. The show is basically.... Tanya vs God. yes, actual God. Kinda weird he didn't mention that. God actually talks to her throughout the show, and they got beeeeef! God just wants her/him to be a better person, to believe in him and pray to him ...if only just one time. Tanya is like "eh...why the f would I do that. f that and f you." 💀 So God's like ....well damn . . . 🤣 God is also like .....if you won't pray, maybe it's because you don't feel a need to, you don't feel that life requires it. .....but what if the right situation were to happen.... what then? Tanya says...I don't need you. God says ....but oh you will. It's worth a watch.
Yeah, it’s just her growing more and more powerful out of spite. Overcoming everything God throws at her. I mean, really, it’s God’s fault for dropping him in a world with magic infused technology that allows her to gain that power. Lol
The name Mary Sue, in this case Mary Souix, is a term that describes someone as a "do no wrong" type of person. Meaning they are incapable of doing wrong, their morals and choices are always "right". So when you have Tanya a demon face a person of righteousness, Mary Souix, you are literally having a clash of views and beliefs. This show is deep, it also explains the questions you have that you were confused on.
I’d like to add to this, a mary sue is more like a character who’s poorly written in a very particular way that forces the world to contort around them such that they’re the center of the narrative with no real cause. There are plenty of Mary Sues who, within their own fiction, are recognized as doing bad things, but their effect on the narrative warps the characters around them to either let them off lightly, accept them regardless (like your dad in Fallout 3 if you blew up Megaton), or “see their true goodness within” anyway. You can always pick out a Mary Sue because they’re a character who the entire universe exists solely to glorify, the narrative is reducible to the author fawning over the character and asking “aren’t they so coooool?” Interestingly you can actually get away with a main villain being a mary sue a lot of the time, since a BBEG tends to be a major axis of the story anyway.
Something CJ might not have explained is during the train scene the salaryman ended up angering God who was speaking to him through all the people and the bird. The salaryman didn't believe in God and wasn't with being trolled upon his supposed death. So God send him to a war torn world to force the salaryman to ask for his help and start believing in him. Of course as Tanya she didn't want to rely on God so did everything in her abilities to live an easy efficient life. With the mind of a 40 year old salaryman Tanya hailed efficiency over everything eles, basically work smarter not harder. However with God trolling her every move she is often found in the front lines when she isn't even trying to be a big shot. Tanya literally wants to be stationed in the back line so she can live a comfortable life but because she is a genius in this world and since God is trolling her she can't seem to get out of trouble. The powers she has is from God (when her eyes are yellow) she has to pray in order to tap into his powers; whereas without his powers she is a mage who uses a mixture of magic with science/technology. So whenever time stops that's when God is trolling Tanya but she doesn't like to listen so shoots or blows up whatever object or person God is using to communicate. Eventually God gets tired of Tanya getting out of trouble and gives his power to the Soux family but of course that doesn't do anything since Tanya puts them out of commission.
This got me to binge it in an entire day and the movie 😂 Tanya Von Degurechaff and the 203rd Battalion is my favorite squadron out of all of Anime 😂 Grantz, Weiss, Victoria are awesome fuckin characters. In this World and since the Empire(Germany) was at War anyone who passed the requirement to be a Mage was going to be conscripted be it Old or Young, Man, Woman, or Child since there are few Mages in the World. So Tanya decided to enlist and go to Officer School so she could have choices where she might be deployed when she graduates unlike conscripts who go straight to the Battlefield after training. The Empire follows Meritocracy as long as you prove you are capable then you will rise in the Ranks it doesn't matter if your a child, an old man or a Man or Woman. Tanya is an example of this since in the Light Novel when she was 13 or 14 she was already a Lt. Colonel. Tanya's goal was to rack up achievements and be stationed at the rear as a Strategic Officer rise up in the Ranks, win the War and retire with benefits, but things didn't go as planned because of "Being X". There are only 2 Countries that allow Women to enlist in the Military in this World which is the Empire(Germany) and Unified States (US). 6:49 Mages can magically induce the effect of Meth, Steroids etc which enhances their physical and mental performance and thus she and her Battalion are high as a Kite when they get outnumber smiling and laughing like Psychos. 11:05 It was much worse in the Manga since the soil was limestone as such they couldn't foxholes to hide and she didn't use any "Duds" either they were all live rounds. They needed to shoot them down as such this instilled in them to trust their comrades, since if they didn't do their part they would have been wiped out. They were also was subjected to interrogation training while being completely naked both men and women together out in the cold. Pretty much Tanya subjected them to all Special Forces training she could remember like Seal's Hell Week, SERE, High Altitude training in the Alpen(Alps in our World) Mountain, etc. For a MONTH! They became the Best of the Best like Berserkers and they ain't high on meth yet. So far in the Manga none of them died yet and they have been through countless life and death battles. 15:40 It was MUCH worse in the Manga since they induced a man-made "Firestorm". Just imagine a Tidal Wave washing over the City, but its FIRE! This was done so it would be difficult to identify the Soldiers and the Resistance/Rebels from the Civilians. Tanya and her men didn't commit any War Crime. Well "Legally" though, but "Morally".... Tanya isn't the Antagonist in the Story it is "Being X"(aka God) and his fellow gods from different religions who are making the War worse so that ppl believe and pray to god.
16:00 They had a one month ultimatum to evacuate before Tanya came. After the death of the imperial soldier, they got another one or three days, everyone who was left would be regarded as an enemy. They knew that. They didn’t leave. They regretted. Edit: typo
The time setting of Saga of Tanya the Evil is a mixture of World War I and II With the small and large details I (as a history buff) picked up on I saw trench warfare, flame troopers, and the uniforms Tanya and the military she's in is very Imperial German, and they use zeppelins all alluding to a WWI theme yet they use tanks like a Panzer IV, advanced planes such as the Messerschmidt 323 transport plane and a V-1 rocket which are more WWII they also fight the French in Africa referring to Erwin Rommel's Afrika Korp and the North Africa Campaign in WWII and also fight Soviets in two separate movies, so the timeline is weird. But it's overall a banger anime. Edit: Looking back on this I also notice the scene of them singing their national anthem and waving their flag over the Kremlin all while recording a video or shooting photos is in reference to the Battle of Berlin that ended WWII and the infamous raising the Soviet flag over the Reichstag photo. As well as some recordings of Soviet soldiers storming the Reichstag and parading their flag all across Berlin.
The Map also is similar to that of ww1 which I think is worth mentioning, and they wear the Stahlhelm over the Pickelhaube so there is still some mixture in their uniforms. ww1 setting with ww2 technology is how I like to describe it, though there are exceptions
There is something important that is never mentioned in the anime or manga so far. In this world, the entire world is already running out of oil. The Ottoman Empire fell in 1870 and Europe thinks the Empire still has oil like America. France invaded the Empire for oil starting WW1. The world doesn’t realize the Empire doesn’t have oil until America shows up book 11 of the Light Novels.
One of the things I love is that the magic they use causes a mild stimulant effect in soldiers, Tanya being a pint sized demon gets hit harder so through most of the battles Tanya is cracked out of her gourd.
The only people who know about this anime, and they didn't finish it, I do believe there's a line about finding some heresy in this. Regardless I hope you guys do finish the show, it's got another season coming out soon. There's also the original light novels if you're interested in those, they go into more detail on Tanya's actions from what I've been told (I haven't read them yet myself, probably will keep waiting on those, cause new season is coming out, and I want to enjoy it as is first, I also prefer having the physical copy if there is physical copies of it, I just prefer to have books and such physically in my hands when reading).
You say you hate bosses like that but like come on... In context he just be spitting facts. Like why you always late and be doing sub-par work. Like the MC was doing things by the book and I highly doubt he had fire that dude out of the blue as that would reflect poorly on him, being a disadvantage to his goal of climbing the corporate ladder. Most likely the dude was warned before hand and he still didn't step up when he needed to. So what if you got a family, most people do. Why should you be working here if you can't even show up on time? It's not like the dude was being laid off cause the company needed to cut losses but he was being laid off cause he a bad employee. Bet that shit with the "family" was some BS as well cause like if your family was such a concern to you then you wouldn't be showing up late or willing to murder out of revenge.
Don't forget! In the manga the employee being laid off was a drug addict and Tanya had done everything in his power to keep the guy employed, but the dude just kept fucking up second chance after second chance, until he had no choice but to fire him. Then the bum killed him. So that might be why Tanya is less lenient in her current life.

For y’all who don’t know, Tanya was sent to an Isekai world (that’s why she’s using technology and magic in a World War II-esq world). She was sent by the God (Who she refers to as ”Being-X”), that’s who speaks to her whenever time stops
14:07 Her personal piwers come from literal god , he cursed her so that her powers come from prayer forcing her to praise him if she wants to use her powers.
I can confirm that this is the same train station from the Tokyo Revengers vid because if you look at it it says we're in Tokyo here 2013 and in Tokyo Revengers well they're in Tokyo so this might be the same main train station in Tokyo this might be the Tokyo main train station just a theory but the backgrounds are similar as they did point out "RNA"
The amount of people I see reacting to this video and say he's a bad boss for firing someone for not doing their job is wild. 😂 The dude always came late, hardly worked while he was there and the work he did do he did badly, of course he was fired. 😂 If he has a family he should've been more motivated to do his damn job to provide for them.
The best part for me has got to be when they're blowing up this world's Moscow the BGM for the scene is titled 'Target: That Piece of Shit' in reference to what she says to her troops to blow up the statue.
This crazy plot about this show is that Tanya's actions are mainly to go against the God/Deity that reincarnated her. Her power ironically, comes from pray/believing in that same God lol! So yea super OP but with an ironic twist.

calling Tanya evil isn't exactly right IMO, as she doesn't do things because she enjoys them or wants people to suffer.
Im not reading all that
Just like the saying goes: the strong shall live the weak shall die
You just ruined cj’s video for me
1. Even in our world an underperforming employee would still be fired. So I don't see the evil in that one.
2. In the cartoon, it was obvious those two soldiers were thinking too highly of themselves.
this fight was a lot longer than this review gives it credit for. Mary was a MONSTER.
Literally. Mary was self-righteous, psychotic and a greater danger to her allies than her enemies. She had none of Tanya's talent and only was a threat because "God" overclocked her past Tanya.
Mary dies like a monster off screen. She technically dies in book 6 but Tanya doesn’t find out until book 8.
Yea she met the devil that day 😂😂😂😂
@@joshportal2808 good. I've already had enough of mary the moment she showed up. That girl annoyed me to no end. Like im sorry this is a war, wtf did you expect? Your father was in the army that attacked first and in a war you either kill or be killed. I get the revenge mentality but seriously give me a break, you were never a match for tanya you plot armored protagonist wannabee.
@@malakzaiter2291 Mary actually had plot armor against Tanya but didn’t know it. Being X gave Mary a blessing where she could not be killed by Tanya.
When she first uses it she hears Being X. The second time being X tells Mary she already has the power in her blessing against Tanya. The problem is that Mary wants more from Being X. She gets more power but loses her mind. The scientist tell Mary to turn off her orb which she refuses. She starts to build with power. Then America’s Mages special forces come and take about an hour to kill her.
The scientist later find out if Mary build up the amount of power to self detonate, she could have vaporized half of America and most of Mexico. When the Mage Special forces killed Mary, it made an explosion of a 10 mile radius. Destroying the science facility, and small town, a military base, and the future plans of recreating the type 95 Orb.
Post WW1 America will try to blame the Empire for their mistakes and it will ironically fail.
Tanya is literally one of the funniest and best villains in all of TV history.
The show is basically.... Tanya vs God. yes, actual God. Kinda weird he didn't mention that. God actually talks to her throughout the show, and they got beeeeef!
God just wants her/him to be a better person, to believe in him and pray to him ...if only just one time.
Tanya is like "eh...why the f would I do that. f that and f you." 💀 So God's like ....well damn . . . 🤣
God is also like .....if you won't pray, maybe it's because you don't feel a need to, you don't feel that life requires it. .....but what if the right situation were to happen....
Lol
@@jinxie712 not a problem tbh
@@Mahlak_Mriuani_Anatman none at all. Makes it entertaining.
The best thing is that the studio has resumed work on this Anime and we will soon see Season 2 Boys
Yes!
its been 2 years.
ye...
It looks like the same train station because Japan train stations are literally the same across the country. Every one is basically identical
Not really. I am in walking distance of 5.5 stations and they're all different.
You can always pick out a Mary Sue because they’re a character who the entire universe exists solely to glorify, the narrative is reducible to the author fawning over the character and asking “aren’t they so coooool?”
Interestingly you can actually get away with a main villain being a mary sue a lot of the time, since a BBEG tends to be a major axis of the story anyway.
@@delphynenull2136 Lots of Batman writers also got away with it, despite him not being the villain.
Time was frozen at the start of the video
Tanya was talk to god
CJ portraited god as Truck-kun
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣cause he omnipotent tho
Because truck Kun is god
Even homie with the ponytail haha seeing how they become a trusting family towards the end is hella dope.
6:49
Mages can magically induce the effect of Meth, Steroids etc which enhances their physical and mental performance and thus she and her Battalion are high as a Kite when they get outnumber smiling and laughing like Psychos.
11:05
It was much worse in the Manga since the soil was limestone as such they couldn't foxholes to hide and she didn't use any "Duds" either they were all live rounds.
15:40
It was MUCH worse in the Manga since they induced a man-made "Firestorm".
"A war monger, a tyrant, a demon."
That line made me think about something terrifying.
Imagine Tanya with the powers of Frieza...
NO JUST, NO
💀
Honestly if Tanya had those powers and no reason to use them she wouldn't cause it's not working efficiently.
Anime Name is Saga of Tanya the evil for those intrested
fun fact: they have a magical buff spell in this world that has the same effects as amphetamines
Bro in the thumbnail Tanya look demented asf😭
16:00 They had a one month ultimatum to evacuate before Tanya came. After the death of the imperial soldier, they got another one or three days, everyone who was left would be regarded as an enemy. They knew that. They didn’t leave. They regretted.
Edit: typo
The time setting of Saga of Tanya the Evil is a mixture of World War I and II
With the small and large details I (as a history buff) picked up on I saw trench warfare, flame troopers, and the uniforms Tanya and the military she's in is very Imperial German, and they use zeppelins all alluding to a WWI theme yet they use tanks like a Panzer IV, advanced planes such as the Messerschmidt 323 transport plane and a V-1 rocket which are more WWII they also fight the French in Africa referring to Erwin Rommel's Afrika Korp and the North Africa Campaign in WWII and also fight Soviets in two separate movies, so the timeline is weird.
Facts
The Map also is similar to that of ww1 which I think is worth mentioning, and they wear the Stahlhelm over the Pickelhaube so there is still some mixture in their uniforms. ww1 setting with ww2 technology is how I like to describe it, though there are exceptions
@@styllfitz to me is more like what would have happened if Ferdinand don't got killed.
WW1 as the base with WW2 moments sprinkled on top. That and they're using inter-war tech.
Glad y’all reacting to this, personally this is one of my favorite anime. I fux with the disrespect Tanya embodies.
same here. They nerfed the hell out of her in the movie tho.
One of the things I love is that the magic they use causes a mild stimulant effect in soldiers, Tanya being a pint sized demon gets hit harder so through most of the battles Tanya is cracked out of her gourd.
Your right, this isn’t Black Air Force Energy. This is a Black Tim, a Filla, A Shaq! My guy
U guys are really funny keep up the hard work ❤️❤️❤️
The only people who know about this anime, and they didn't finish it, I do believe there's a line about finding some heresy in this.
The saga of tanya the evil
Fun fact in Jojo the train scene was used during Jotaro and Dio’s fight when he stopped time.
You guys don't know how long I been waiting for you to react to this 🤣😂👏👍
You say you hate bosses like that but like come on...
@@LSHEVV i see, don't wrong her
FINALLY, I been watching subpar reactions for DAYS! I need the non TH-camrs to show the ppl how its done😤
The antagonist of The Saga of Tanya The Evil is God w capital G so don't expect regular people to be on her proper level💀

And that's why I found this anime and binged it. It's good.

I'm in stitches right now! The way he's narrating and telling this story makes me miss The Boondocks, on some real shit! If they can't bring that show back, at least bring this type of energy back!
For y’all who don’t know, Tanya was sent to an Isekai world (that’s why she’s using technology and magic in a World War II-esq world). She was sent by the God (Who she refers to as ”Being-X”), that’s who speaks to her whenever time stops
She a monster!
That’s the point
How ? If you watch the series you know she took the best course of action

15:37 yeah btw that is basically what america did to germany and japan in WW2
The amount of people I see reacting to this video and say he's a bad boss for firing someone for not doing their job is wild. 😂
The dude always came late, hardly worked while he was there and the work he did do he did badly, of course he was fired. 😂
If he has a family he should've been more motivated to do his damn job to provide for them.
Y’all should react to the new AMP Cypher. It’s fire fr 🔥

Same station because it's Tokyo terminal. All of the shows take place in Tokyo.
Let’s goooooooo
