Good to hear you remembered Sheila on mother's day. Wouldn't want her off on another tear filled, rage induced, opal bender. Zuck was pretty lost without her, last time🤭👍❤️🦄
I have learned more about caring for my opals watching this one video than I have learned from months of watching other people on TH-cam. I am glad I found your channel, thank you for sharing your knowledge
@Ramitheicon12 Did I win something?! That would be awesome! I never expected to get a gemstone from a real opal artist. How amazing! What do I need to do?
Your videos are very special because of the combination of your droll humour and remarkable opal cutting/polishing skills. Both Sheila and your pets also bring a wonderful sense of playfulness which every viewer can enjoy. Ad multos annos!
Its 4:42 am and this is the perfect video for someone who cant sleep. Informative enough to keep me interested but just long enough to make want to go to sleep
Your content is really amazing, it’s very educational to this aspiring opal cutter! These videos just draw you in with your passion, honesty and great humor. Thank you.
I'm new to your videos and just started watching. I'm really enjoying the entertainment and knowledge you give your viewers. As a senior October baby I have always been facinated with my birthstone. Your information on all types of opals cracking and how to prevent them from cracking was new knowledge to me. I dont own an opal but if I ever do I'll remember your invaluable tips. Thank you for taking the time to make your videos.
I've been making wire wraps for about 4 years on and off, adding more traditional techniques in my pieces as I learn more. Just starting to get my feet wet with cabochons and opals. Thanks for all the know-how, information, and entertainment.
I am obsessed with all of these opals, but Sophie and Shim have my heart!!!! Thank you for sharing these videos. I will never be a Opal jeweler, but I love Opals!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Dale from Eagle River Alaska , Yesterday was My 47th. Anniversary ! 6 kids later all responsible Adults 😁. Love Your Humor and instructions , keep it up ! Awesome 👏 . Take Care , Dale
I am completely mesmerized by the cutting and polishing you do of Opal. The cutting, the shaping and the polishing sends me into a Bob Ross state of mind. I even like a little dop stick action.
I Love watching opal cutters...I subscribe to several. The artistry of your craft is fascinating. Your channel is my favorite. Your humor is what makes the difference! Please keep doing what you do! Too little levity in this world. You do your part!
Another “oh wow” moment again. Such beauties. Those rubies and moonstones were stunning 🤩. But the cats are the show stealers, I must say . Thank you again for what you do and sharing. You are very inspiring and generous. Godbless you.
Love u and ur Sheila. Amazing job honestly. Ur very interesting person . I love how u change opals into so beautiful shapes . Am obsessed with ur work specially. That's what called work with entertainment.
Love the fluid way you adapt to the choices the opal gives you. Good advice for any situation pushing for what you started out wanting when a better choice presents itself, don't be afraid to change what is possible.
Oh wow, this video is amazing. I've had very mixed luck with opals. No cracks showed up in any of my Lightning Ridge opal but the Andamooka keeps cracking even after grinding them out. The Ethiopian opal is totally random: sometimes it cracks when I look at it funny and other times it pretends to be as hard as diamond. Very weird stuff, but incredibly beautiful. Thanks for sharing again!
Amazing video as always sir. I Always learn something and I'm a true opalholic and watch opal videos almost religiously...but no one and I mean NO ONE cuts opal as large as you! I would have never thought to put our opal jewelry in water so thanks for that... I'd hate to lose some of the opal we own (my wife and I) and even though I've never won anything from you I also wanted to thank and commend you on how much amazing opal and gemstones that you give away...I mean you are not only very talented as an opal cutter and as an entertainer but also obviously very kind and generous... truly good people are more rare than black opal and you my friend are a 💎
@@PulitzerOpal you are too kind,I'm only speaking the truth. But I am curious,is there different ways of entering for each giveaway or just commenting is enough? I'm just curious, I don't mean to sound greedy 😂 but you're always giving away such awesome stones that it's hard not to want to increase my chances of winning... just human nature I reckon... anyway thanks again for your very entertaining content...as I've said before that's as rare as black opal!
@@PulitzerOpal I absolutely love your videos especially the opal videos. Im glad to see some honest precious stone purveyor as your a needle in a haystack. Rare like hens teeth. I personally have always been fascinated by opal and it's unique qualities. We have opal were I live but it's mostly clear without background ( not enough color play for jewelry ) I personally have never found any myself and have always wanted some opal from Coober Pedy or even better a opal nut. Unfortunately I can't get to Australia myself so I have to buy it online if I want. Last time I tried the guy I was negotiating with just took my deposit and ran. Weird thing was it wasn't much I just wanted a speci. for a gemstone display I was making for someone. As a result I could not finish the project. Also I lost a friend as a result of not being able to finish it.
Hopper's cute, Colonel! My Mum told me that the steak day wasn't a real holiday, but hubby insisted it was. Now you've mentioned it, I have confirmation from a trusted source that it is real. Hubby was right all along and I learned something. Then again, I always find your videos both entertaining and educational. thank you for sharing your wonderful talent. Oh! Congrats to all the winners, too!
Watching your opal videos is always amazing! I'm always blown away by all the different combinations of color and the patterns and shapes, it's easy to see why people get into cutting and collecting opal!
Another great video and timely for me. all of my opals have been in climate controlled storage for 3 years until last week. Out of 250+ stones, all Lightning ridge, 3 were cracked.
as usual, lots of ooo's and ahh's from our side of the screen tonight.. And Then! we watched Donald cut some beautiful opal..Thankyou Shiela for bringing our favourite youtuber back again. Take care until next we enjoy our time together.
I've been experimenting on soaking different types of Opals in different kinds of oils. Baby shampoo, coconut oil and olive oil have been the best ones.
Thank You as every time I see your work it makes my day wonderful .The things you make are so fine I could watch your work all day .Never boring .Keep making beautiful opals for many more Years .
Loved the video! I've been interested in opal for awhile now so I'm happy that I figured out how to stop it from cracking before I actually got some myself
My job recently changed & I have been working a lot of hours, although I am a recent subscriber, I have been watching your videos for a while. With that said on my time off today it was nice to see another.
These opals are so beautiful. I have got a labradorite which I find already fascinating how it breaks light but these one can’t even compare. Much more colorful and vibrant
Thanks for the advice on keeping them in water. I have my husband’s grandmother’s opal ring set in rose gold and would never thought to keep it in water
Another great amazing video. This was fun to watch about opal cracking up all while the cutter had me cracking up! The Mothers day/whatever day story at the end was hilarious! Very entertaining and informative video 👍
The final stones look very shiny, real fine job polishing. Sheila has some good advice but mostly she's a good listener. I think I'll store my opals in the fish tank, that way they can be on display.
Great, now I want to buy more opals AND jalapeño icecream! Thanks for all the great advice, as usual. I have to admit, my heart sank when you showed that tray of cracked opal. I will never leave my stones out in the unforgiving air, ever again. Keep up the great work!
Why is that poping sound when you make an arrowhead so satisfying to me? I really have to try your technique! Thanks for the video and all the helpful infos! ☺️ Still an always a fan! 😁Your cats are too adorable and playful!! 😍
Fantastic video and lovely opals! I have been interested in lapidary art for a long time, and I feel compelled to get involved after watching this. Congrats to the winners!
cant wait for the birthstone video, I've designed a libra pendant for myself with opal and tourmaline cased in silver. its my first project and your channel has helped greatly. thanks.
Thank you for the educational content. I find it surprising that people still don’t know that glass and opal are equal on the hardness scale. One just has a better arrangement of the silica molecules. I keep most of my opals in water, following a parcel that I secured early. It was a “quality parcel that has been sitting in a sea container for the past decade.” I learned the hard way about the opal crazing in dry heat.
I love the video, I learned about keeping opals in water from a dealer at the Tucson Rock and Gem show years ago. Thought at that time it was just his way to make the stones shine more. But know I know why.. Love your cats they are a hoot!!!!
I think the dome and polish are the best on You Tube I watch around ten different lapidary channels and you are the admiral of them all!!!! Well I also love your sense of humor keep me laughing. You did an amazing job on every stone.
