Hi, I completed my studies in Ontario and now I am planning to move to Quebec, I have good CRS points , yet my work permit will expire next year May 2025, If I move to Quebec, can I apply BOWP under FSW category (if my work permit is about to expire and receive ITA)?? Kindly help me with this please. Thanks in advance.
Based on the information provided, if you are planning to move to Quebec and your work permit is about to expire in may 2025, you may be eligible to apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) under the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category. Here are some key points to consider: - To be eligible for a BOWP, you must live in Canada (and intend to live outside Quebec) at the time you apply for your BOWP. - You can apply for a BOWP if you have a valid work permit, have an expired work permit but maintained your status as a worker, or are eligible to restore your status and get a work permit. - You must be the principal applicant on your permanent residence application and have submitted a complete application for permanent residence and passed the completeness check. - When applying for a BOWP, ensure you include the necessary supporting documents listed in the document checklist, such as a copy of your acknowledgement of receipt letter. It is advisable to review the specific eligibility criteria and documentation requirements outlined by the Canadian immigration authorities to ensure a smooth application process. Below are some links you can review. www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/extend-permit/bridging-open-work-permit.html www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/foreign-workers/provincial-nominees-permanent-resident-applicants/bridging-open-work-permits.html
Depends on the number of applicants. If one applicant then the application fee alone is 869 CAD. For secondary applicant and a child its 186 CAD each. Please note that this is only application fee. There is also ECA, IELTS, medicals etc. that needs to be done.
If you are applying for a new card for the first time then currently according to the website below its 58 days. This can vary. www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-processing-times.html
Agreed, the process can be challenging for many. Statistics reveal that rising CRS scores for express entry is making, learning French language, an option, for a lot of people recently. So this pnp may be easy for them. Job offers are currently tough to come by due to the slow economy worldwide, but the situation will improve. Securing a job with entry-level and generalist experience is challenging worldwide, not just canada, as I have mentioned in my latest video. My intention is to offer realistic insights without demotivating anyone. Hope you get the point.
Its hard to say a definite yes or no to this question. I would suggest to keep a tab on the latest draws and make a decision accordingly if the score is too low.
Excellent, great help!
