    Nice! For a better polishing result, use car chrome polish after you reach 3000 grit. Much less work and a perfect finish.

      +JoergSprave I've never tried that, thank you for the tip! And thank you for stopping by my little corner of the web Joerg!!

      +Peter Brown Little corner? Your success is very impressive. Have you thought about covering vacuum style epoxy methods? Such tricks are used for stabilizing soft/brittle wood, but also for "Gunther von Hagen" tissue preservation. I'd love to see you reverse engineering these well kept secrets.

    • @peterbrownwastaken
      @peterbrownwastaken  8 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      +JoergSprave I have the means to do the stabilizing in the shop... Gunther von Hagen Whoa.
      I'm not saying it's 100% possible, but a resin stabilized food slingshot would be pretty cool looking....

    • @Slingshotchannel
      @Slingshotchannel 8 ปีที่แล้ว +24

      +Peter Brown Hmmm... a nice Sirloin, medium rare, cut in the shape of a slingshot, and fully functional? Maybe using stabilized potatoes and kidney beans as ammo? :)

      +Theo Roosevelt Not all vegans are hippies or of that sort. Some, like my sister, are mild and don't wish to push their views on others. For her, she is like "No sorry, I don't take beef". The reason for being a vegan is because she was like that since she was a baby, so from young she just rejected meat.

    • @julespoon2884
      @julespoon2884 9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      RS7JR Vital components of a diet can be found in veg/beans as well. In fact, livestock can be considered the most inefficient at supplying these components due to significantly lower output over resources. If you don't believe, name me a chemical necessary in the body that has to be constantly replaced that is found in lifestock but not in vegan diet.

    • @xfiringsquadx
      @xfiringsquadx 9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      +Julian Poon Vitamin B12 does not occur naturally in any vegetation. It is also one of the most important factors in energy metabolism. Certain amino acid chains are never found in vegetables, plus a diet high in vegetables and low (or no) meat intake inhibits the absorption of vital nutrients such as zinc. Source: 10 year dietitian. You as well as your sister need to do quite a bit more research in this area as you two obviously have no clue. It's extremely common knowledge that vegan diets lack many vital nutrients and can cause health issues later in life if not supplemented correctely. And keep in mind, supplements and pills are not natural and are nowhere near as effective as real whole foods. They can only get you so far plus you have too rely on them being produced in good quality.

      By right it should be desensitised with radiation and away form UV light or any source of light.

    • @hypermecha223
      @hypermecha223 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      superdau Most bacteria can't survive in a vacuum, and without oxygen the proteins will not break down. It might undergo chemical changes and begin to disintegrate. It also depends on the temperature. I'm not really sure about stuff dipped in resin because it's not exactly a vacuum; some oxygen can be trapped inside with the food.

    • @thegreatMSG
      @thegreatMSG 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      xeokym
      By right one of the key problem that can cause the food to deteriorate is anaerobic bacteria and UV light.
      One way to prevent it, is sterile it with radiation.
      I am not sure how it is done but I did see flower and insects samples enchase in plastic/resin

      +Peter Brown Not sure how long it would last, but I actually would expect it to still decay eventually. There is a certain amount of bacteria that were present in the open air before it was cast. There is also still a some moisture in the bacon itself, and without being preserved with formaldehyde or similar agent I wouldn't be surprised if it does still decay. It will be interesting to see what it does though.

      Janae Benson I don't have savings, I'm as broke as they are, I'm in an emotionally abusive house and my friend offered me a place to stay but I need $1,200 which is nearly impossible to do when there are no jobs hiring.. I spent all my money helping my friends out, making them feel better, giving them a chance to move out of their abusive homes. :T
