That chicane definitely needs to be named after Rossi. He's won so many races there, because he goes through that chicane like nobody else. It's as if he has a secret weapon at that track.
This is exactly why the yellow army is pissing off everyone else, they think he's entitled to so many things, say what you will and whatever may happen, that corner will forever be the legendary Geert Timmer chicane, period
Totally agree. the man should be paid as a winner for the rest of his days for what he has done for this sport. Took my daughter to see the Sepang Clash with Marquez in 2015...what a day. Marquez ruined his championship that day.
And the new generation will retire and The Doctor will keep running Pedrosa and Lorenzo were the new generation that was going to retire Valentino and the Spanish retired before Valentino and as he continues like this, the Italian will see Marquez retire and THE DOCTOR will continue Valentino for many more years
Aidan Hamilton Unfortunately in Motogp it will not be possible it seems to me that the age limit is at 50 but seeing that there is an American racing in official motorcycle competitions with 78 years old Kenny Smith is called the old pilot. Valentino the day he retires maybe he will go to a rally and after he has the ranch in Tavullia where he does motorcycle races on TH-cam, Valentino uploads them from his Ranch.
This just shows the greatness of Valentino, so many great riders and yet he overtook them all, one after one, Pedrosa, Hayden, Capirosi, Stoner, Vermulen, all race winners, all talented, and Valentino rose from behind. It is sad to see him fall in his last race at Catalunya 2020, but MotoGP is a different animal now. What is remarkable is that 13 years later he is still competitive, but he has to keep to from falling, which is not easy, today the riders are all the time over the edge, there is no letting down, no breathing room, it is all out 100% of the time, and that is why so many talented riders fall, look at Bagnaia, falling twice out of the lead of a race, riders are pushing all the time.

That 2007 Ducati was pretty much unridable but had insane power. The way Stoner managed to win the championship on that bike is pretty incredible. You can actually see that bike verving all the way, just like Senna's Lotus.
I don’t think that is true, if the Ducati was so unridable then Capirossi would not have won Motegi that same year on the other factory Ducati, nor finished second behind Stoner at Phillip Island, second at Sachsenring, nor finished third in Istanbul. Alex Barros who was riding the Pramac Satellite Ducati finished third at Mugello. The Ducati stopped being ridable when they stopped taking development cues from Capirossi, and started adapting development based on Stoners input. Do not forget, 2007 was the first season of the 800cc machines, and the legendary Bridgestone tyres. So good were the Bridgestone rubber, that Rossi abandoned his long relationship with Michelin, and reclaimed the title riding on Bridgestone in 2008. The following season 2009, saw the single tyre manufacturer rule put into place… …
@@otosang problem is, after the 2005 F1 USGP I’m assuming every motorsport exec starts sweating intensely at the mere mention of multiple tyre manufacturers...

Whas great to be here, but 09 at Assen whas more special as a Vale fan: his 100th win and in front of our seats as well. As Melandri said: 2nd place feels like winning. Hayden: he’s the last one you want behind you. The fact he only had 1/115win he won from start says enough. He always won with a battle.
