Hi I believe that Reformed Theology is Biblical Christianity. Can you expound what Pentecostals believe in? I do have a friend that is a Pentecost, she says it is the same as what I believe (Reformed Theology) and of course what I practice.

@@graceswyles8337 reformed religion is a Calvanistic belief and it is just that religion...they do not believe in moves of the Holy Spirit and they are cessationists which is totally antibiblical. Pentecostals are more Armenian in belief, are not cessationist and do believe the Holy Spirit is alive and well moving in the hearts and lives of men and we get excited about that. They tread dangerously to believe this way.

R.C. Sproup taught some of the adult Sunday School class back at College Church just across from Wheaton College during my undergraduate years at that Liberal Arts College. Almost 30 years later I have baptized my 10 year old triplets in a PCA church and today they take communion at Faith Presbyterian Church in Fairless Hills, Pa just North of Philadelphia. Raising them up in the reformed Faith..successfully Catechism over the last 12 weeks and glad they are in a Covenant Community.

I decided to find out what Ligonier Ministries was about. I've been embracing these truths almost every night, all night, of the same Bible study compilations of Reformed Theology, and the Holiness of GOD. Reformed theology is against ANY emotionalism, it is a dry dead denomination/doctrine of man. Read and study the book of acts and then ask yourself how reformed and emotionless the early church was. Have you continued to be curious about and researched reformed theology more, and compared it to what the Bible teaches?
Someone I knew taught me to look at every detail, I.e.: “them” vs. “us”, and to follow words throughout the entire Bible. I found consistency and have been fascinated with “word searches” in the Bible since, with even the most simple words, such as “star”, “tree”, “light”, and “water”.
Word searches have only deepened my beliefs regarding sin (our own individually), forgiveness (God providing us an option), justice (God doing what is right because He is holy), mercy (God not giving us what we deserve), and grace (God giving us what we don’t deserve).

Watch the following TH-cam video by Dr. Ken Wilson "Was Augustine the first to introduce "CALVINISM" into the Church? ".
What has come to be known as "Calvinism" came out of Augustine's attempts to explain how infants could become the "elect", through infant baptism. Since the infant had not come to faith, it must be based on the will of another. It could not be based on the will of the child.
Does regeneration precede faith in Ephesians 1:13, and Acts 11:15-17?

Augustine was not infallible. Certainly his teaching on Baptising an infant to become elect was false. He taught other things that Reformed people don't believe. In the case of any man, we have to be discerning. The final authority is always Scripture alone and all of Scripture. We remember that "the best of men are men at best". We want to always be Berean Christians who search the Scriptures continuously.

The "adoption" of dogs has grown expotentially in the past 5-10 years - so that these animals are now considered of higher value than humans, and are even called "fur babies", adorned with clothing, identified with human-type names, and their owners (although they would never consider themselves as such) call themselves "parents" or "moms" of particular breeds and don t-shirts declaring their status of devotion "Chihuahua Mom" "Too busy spending time with my dog" "Dog hair, don't care", etc. It is a religion, with equal zeal , devotion, and evangelism.

At about the 6:20 Mark, Dr Sproul introduces the difference between the study of Faith / God Centered and the opposite Man Centered. I have had profound insight into this matter myself. It is Enormously significant. In the science models, the primarly classification of importance is the category titled HUMAN. In theology, "human" does not apply by definition. Why? Look at an science based book for Human Anatomy. You will find neither SOUL, nor SELF, nor will you find "you" or an "I" nor "Person" in human anatomy. So when people are discussed, the identity is not the same thing as the persons recognized in the Holy Bible and Christian Theology. Any time people use the categories of HUMAN or HUMANITY, or even HUMAN RIGHTS, they are not referring to the same thing as the persons recognized in scripture nor in Theological Study. Persons have a Soul. Human Beings DO NOT! This escapes the thinking of most people, and this confusion is why so many people rely upon some sort of Psychological Understanding as their premises, and are thereby completely misguided and also very manipulated. If you identify as a Christian, you are not (theologically) human. Humans have no Soul. Look it up in the books if you will. There is no "Self" in human anatomy.
To be rational, Christians should be recognizing this distinction. I might think generally that I am "human" of course, in some contexts. But that is not consistent with Christian Theology, nor should it be thought to be the same. (Actually, "human rights" is a misnomer and an Oxymoron). Look at the anatomy books. No "rights" are there. This is a matter of the fundamental distinction between the Physical and the Metaphysical.
The "human" has no soul. That is why people are so confused. They have little or no theological understanding at all.

Heretical prayer: O Mother of Perpetual Help, thou art the dispenser of all the gifts which God grants to us miserable sinners; and for this end He has made thee so powerful, so rich, and so bountiful, in order that thou mayest help us in our misery. Thou art the advocate of the most wretched and abandoned sinners who have recourse to thee: come to my aid, for I recommend myself to thee.
In thy hands I place my eternal salvation, and to thee I entrust my soul. Count me among thy most devoted servants; take me under thy protection, and it is enough for me. For, if thou protect me, I fear nothing; not from my sins, because thou wilt obtain for me the pardon of them; nor from the devils, because thou art more powerful than all hell together; nor even from Jesus, my judge, because by one prayer from thee He will be appeased.
But one thing I fear: that in the hour of temptation I may through negligence fail to have recourse to thee and thus perish miserably. Obtain for me, therefore, the pardon of my sins, love for Jesus, final perseverance, and the grace ever to have recourse to thee, O Mother of Perpetual Help.
This is a legit Roman Catholic prayer, look up "O Mother of Perpetual Help" if you want to know if it’s legit.

Why is there so much argument over whether someone is a Calvinist or not? John Calvin was not the first theologian to come up with the idea of unconditional election or predestination (Paul, Augustine, and then Martin Luther)? Besides there is no system or paradigm that can account for every tension in Scripture. People talk about how unbiblical Dr. Sproul's view of salvation is but yet there isn't a single rational Bible believer who doesn't respect Sproul's grasp of theology or Church history. In saying all that, Am I a five point Calvinist? Never gave much thought to it. However, Ephesians 1:3-5 does make a strong case for RC's view of election. I think that people don't like this view of election because it makes God to be unfair or a liar.

John Williams it would be totally fair however we as humans wouldn't see it that way, they don't even like the thought of God saving some & not the majority, because it pleases him to do so, people like to line God up & tell him how it's done because they have a better understanding of what's fair than what he does. Even if God told these people with an audible voice confirming Sproul, Luther, Calvin, Augustine's teachings, these same people would tell God he's unjust & unfair till he would blow their narrow minds like he did Job, who ended up putting his hand on his mouth & zipping his lips in shame & he had far more reason to complain than any of these people do. They put too much emphasis on their extremely limited understanding of what's fair & just.

The major error of limited atonement is that it teaches salvation is completed at the cross only. We are not saved only by the cross the world is reconciled (as enemies, ungodly, sinners) but we are saved by his LIFE! You have to come to Jesus Christ for His Life, otherwise you will not receive the forgiveness, because the forgiveness that He paid for is in His resurrected Life. Salvation is not just getting your sins forgiven. Romans 5: 10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

As you said and as scripture clearly states we are saved by His LIFE.

You know what’s tragically sad and twisted with reformed theology?
...that in Jesus own parable of the Good Samaritan it’s not even guaranteed that Jesus Christ Himself would have stopped and helped the man on the side of the road.
      Maybe a 50/50 chance.
      Maybe less.

Wrong. His life, meaning the righteousness with which he lived it being perfect in obedience to the Father, is what is imputed to us but it was the death of Christ that secured salvation for His people. This is why He cried out it is finished. To say Christ death didn't secure salvation for anyone is heresy and a false gospel.

REPLY: Again your OPINION of why He cried out it is finished.
      JOHN 19:30
30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.
Everything that was supposed to be finished is finished and everything that wasn’t supposed to be finished is NOT finished but will be finished when it’s supposed to be finished.
When Christ died on the cross and cried out “it is finished” it was instantaneous and the new covenant was established immediately upon the death of the testator which was Christ.
Nothing was finished that was not supposed to be finished.
Are you glorified yet? Was that finished?
Jesus did NOT say, “EVERYTHING” is finished.
      He said “IT” is finished.
      FAITH is what secures salvation.
Scripture is overwhelmingly and abundantly clear on that.
Are you claiming to be saved apart from faith?
We enter into the new covenant by FAITH.
The promise of the new covenant is only given to them that BELIEVE so apart from Christ we have no part in the new covenant.
      GALATIANS 3:22
22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the PROMISE by faith of Jesus Christ MIGHT BE GIVEN TO THEM THAT BELIEVE.
Christ is the mediator of the new covenant.
      He’s The Way.
He’s the guy we gotta go to to have any part in this covenant.
We don’t enter into the new covenant before hand.
It’s literally impossible to have any part in this covenant before coming to Christ in faith because Christ IS the new covenant which is IN His blood.
To have any part in His covenant without Christ is to usurp Christ.
      COLOSSIANS 2:10-13
10 And ye are complete IN HIM, which is the head of all principality and power:
11 IN WHOM ALSO YE ARE CIRCUMCISED the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh BY THE CIRCUMCISION OF CHRIST:
12 Buried WITH HIM in baptism, wherein also ye are RISEN WITH HIM through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
      13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he QUICKENED TOGETHER WITH HIM, having forgiven you all trespasses;
      ************************************
      This was NOT finished:
      ROMANS 5:1,2
1 Therefore being justified BY FAITH, WE HAVE PEACE WITH GOD THROUGH OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST:
2 By whom also WE HAVE ACCESS BY FAITH INTO THIS GRACE wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

So we beat people over the head with what we know; missing the heart of God in his word…my main problem with this is teaching is that there is not a differentiation between knowledge that is studied versus experienced. Knowledge of God needs to be both studied and experienced. Know about God doesn’t mean you actually know him. Reformed Theologians have the gospel correct, but their eschatology about Bible prophecy incorrect.
The Bible tells us in 2 Peter 1:20 that first of all, no prophecy is of one’s own private interpretation. Reformed Theology violates this because their hermeneutics are based off eisegesis, which means they read INTO scripture what it doesn’t say. That’s private interpretation. They allegorize eschatology and that removes the meanings of the text by saying the Bible doesn’t truly mean what it says.
Examples of this are their covenant of grace, covenant of works and covenant of redemption. *Nowhere* in the Bible are there verses that say that. That’s why despite using Genesis 3:15 as a source for Covenant of Grace, they are forced to Redefine Covenant & promise’s because nowhere in the first 8-chapters of Genesis is the word Covenant even used.
Although we are saved through grace, it’s not a covenant. Although Christ’s blood redeemed us, it’s not a covenant. No human has ever been saved by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Nope, not even before Christ. Even the holy men in the Old Testament were ALL deemed righteous because of their faith.
Abel was considered righteous because of his Faith in God, Hebrews 11:4. Enoch’s faith in God pleased Him, Hebrews 11:5. It was by faith in God that Noah was considered righteous, Hebrews 11:7. Genesis 15:6, Romans 4:3, Galatians 3:6-7 & Hebrews 11:17 say Abraham was considered righteous because of his Faith and the list goes on and on through Hebrews 11. It has *always been by faith,* never by works.
Next, *nowhere* in the Old Testament where it said Israel, did it mean the Church. The Bible tells us (Exegesis), in Colossians 1:26 that the Church was a secret, concealed from past generations & previous ages. Ephesians 3:1-13 states a new dispensation of grace was first given to Paul from Christ to share the gospel with the Gentile world. There was no period of Grace before that.
Covenant Theology ignores passages that DO talk about actual Covenants because they are for Israel and Reformed Theology is against Israel. God made everlasting, unconditional & unfulfilled covenants with Abraham & his seed for the land of Israel (Genesis 15, 16 & 17), blessings from it in 2 Samuel 7 and Psalm 89. God explains that it is not based on David's descendants behaving perfectly. So no, when the Jews killed the Messiah, that act did not void these covenants. God threatened to divorce Israel in Jeremiah 3, but didn’t follow through because He doesn’t break promises. When Hosea asked God what to do about his adulterous wife, Hod told him in Hosea 3:1 to go get her & show her the same love & grace He showed the children is Israel even when she committed spiritual adultery.
Even Reform Theology’s own revered supporters like Dr. Louis Berkhof admitted in his famous book, Systemic Theology,
“It must be admitted that the term ‘covenant’ *is not found* in the first three chapters of Genesis, but this is not tantamount to saying that they do not contain the necessary data *for the construction* of a doctrine of the covenant.”
In other words, they made it up. Remember what 2 Peter said about private interpretation. Dr. Berkhof has a bio on Ligonier Ministries website as one the or sources for Covenant Theology. Wow. Another oft quoted Covenant Theologian is Dr. Charles Hodge. In his book, The Covenant of Works, “This system *does not rest* upon any express declaration of the Scriptures.” No scriptural foundation. 2 Peter 1:20 remember.
I could go on and on, but hopefully you understand now why Reformed Theology, Covenant Theology is a false teaching. It’s false doctrine. We are not to create our own hermeneutics. We know Gods plan by what He says. Not by what We say.
The church has not replaced Israel. Jesus will rule & reign in Jerusalem and before Christ returns at the Second Coming, all Israel will be saved by Jesus (Romans 11:25)
    God Bless💜

The Church has always been Israel, even the OT Septuagint referred to Israel as Eclessia. God was willing to destroy the Israelites for worshipping a cow and start from scratch with Moses’ seed, God deals with faithful “congregations.” Galatians 3:26-29 destroys the heretical 19th century innovation that Jews are still God’s chosen.

God spoke to them, and if they didn’t hear anything else but God, what’s the point of free choice? That’s why he let the serpent in God says something, the serpent says something else, and they believe the serpent and choose to disobey God because God is Holy, they had to separate from God in sin and ever since there’s been a war and the war one day will end when every single person on the planet hears about Jesus has the same opportunity as Adam and Eve. The insanity of Calvinism is clearly told by RC. Sproul on answering a question on predestination, in short “…That God positively decrees and determines in advance those whom he will save namely the elect and in the same method he decrees the damnation of the sinner and that just as on the one hand he creates positively saving faith in the hearts of the elect he in an equally determined fashion creates fresh EVIL in the hearts of the reprobate to make sure they don’t come to BELIEVE “ James 1:13 Jeremiah 7:30-31 - “‘The people of Judah have DONE EVIL in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it. They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire-SOMETHING I DID NOT COMMAND, NOR DID IT ENTER MY MIND. James 1:13 “Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God," for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one”. Genesis 6:6 debunks Calvinism's false teaching that He "predestined" everything including the fall of man, sin, and evil. Calvinists also believe that God created man and then INTENTIONALLY predestined his fall and predestined sin and evil. If that is true, then it makes no logical sense for God to feel regret and be deeply troubled afterwards. Hence, the errant belief that God predestined the fall of man is debunked and blown out of the water. Genesis 6:6 - The Lord REGRETTED that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was DEEPLY TROUBLED. If YOU create something and then intentionally engineer it for FAILURE, THEN YOU SHOULD NOT BE FEELING REGRET AND BE TROUBLED AFTERWARDS. Jeremiah 7:30-31 - “‘The people of Judah have DONE EVIL in my eyes, declares the Lord. They have set up their detestable idols in the house that bears my Name and have defiled it. They have built the high places of Topheth in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to burn their sons and daughters in the fire-SOMETHING I DID NOT COMMAND, NOR DID IT ENTER MY MIND The Bible teaches John 3:16, NOT "John Calvin 3:16".

I must partially debunk this....People...Religion..is man made...it is not Christianity...Religion is man made efforts to reach up to God through mans efforts and intellect....Christianity is God reaching down to man through his Son Jesus The Christ....it is not religion !!! So if theology is the study of ..The One TRue God Jehovah..Yahweh...I Am...then it cannot have anything to do with religion...God has nothing to do with religion...he doesnt not connect or communicate with the religious...

So much so that the Self elected have to redefine words to fit their religious "System" developed by Augustine, Luther, Calvinism. Reformed is NOT the gospel :0(

Reformed teaching - like Catholicism before it - is "another gospel." It has concealed itself in using "words" that Paul used to make a distinctions
between Jews who trusted in the Law - and the works of the Law; circumcision - with those who were saved by faith in Jesus Christ.
Paul NEVER CONTESTED the gospel that Peter taught from the beginning, in Acts chapter Two; repent, be baptized in Jesus' name, and receive the Holy Spirit.
God is witness to his OWN Word! Do NOT call Him a liar! Reformed theology NEVER reference the words of Jesus for its foundation, but Jesus is the LORD!

*Reformed theology is the actualization of Calvino's heresies.* That theology that creates
a sovereign god that rejoices creating the most of humanity to be in hell for eternity without any opportunity to be saved. Because He is merciful and loving. That one that says you can't loose your salvation even when Jesus and Paul warned us for it. The theology that undermines the cross telling you that what happened there was a limited atonement, etc, etc. The reformed theology is in one word: trash.

Reformed theology, as I thoroughly detailed in answering Aletheia,
is, like Roman Catholicism. a false gospel.
I fully exposed it in my post, using Jesus and Paul and Peter.
So you simply deleted it. Problem solved. Do it again. Would God be watching?

So if God predestined, everything...he must make some people Free Will, believing, believers....in Christ that desires like God, for no man to perish, but for all to come to the saving knowledge of Christ...so they can make a Free Will Choice, or take personal responsibility for their own salvation; whosoever, will!
Stop adding to the word of God...
Reformed is a addition to the word of God. . .adding words to Bibl,e verses that aren't their, to make them read in accordance with reformed theology....
It's the reformed. . .anti "Free Will" people, some times called Heretic Hunters...that is making evil accusations against ... "Spirit Filled" believers.... reformed theology. . .is a cult and anti biblical. They add words like elect, or predestination to Bible verses, that are not part of a verse....to make them read in accordance to reformed theology... it's evil to add to Bible verses...
...Mr. Spurgeon believed that salvation was not a free will choose, believing most men had no hope of salvation. . .
Reformed Calvinism is a very deceptive form of perverting the Gospel, ...and is a cultic teaching.
There is always hope at the cross, for all mankind! John 3:16. . .
The God of the Bible is sovereign and because he is, God through his sovereignty, gave mankind, a free will choice, whosoever will.
Reformed Calvinism takes away the sovereignty of God.
Condemning most men to Hell, without any way of coming to the knowledge of salvation and repentance of their sins, Hodos!
    . 1 Timothy 2:3-4 -
[3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; [4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

This is for who ever it applies...I will not attack a brother or sister before the World...
The difference is this: All Calvinism is reformed theology; but not all reformed theology is Calvinism. In other words, Calvinism is a subset of Reformed theology... Calvinist are involved in a Cult...they will teach you that God has a chosen few that he preordained to go to heaven... if your not one of these folks, your destiny is only hell no matter if you repent of your sins or not. If God hasn't pick you for heaven you are only destined for hell, and there's nothing you can do about it...my God has predestined salvation for everyone, but it's your choice in the matter...you have a free will choice Romans 10:9-10...my God wants everyone to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ that it's not God's will that any man should perish...
    Luke 11:13
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him.
This man has not been Baptized in the Holy Ghost, and attacks men and women that have . . .beware of this man..he has had some kind of an experience, but you can't go by your emotions and experiences...your emotions can lie to you... Pentecostals send out more missionaries than any other church group in the world...and this man will tell you that is a bad thing... there's a reason why Pentecostals are so passionate about evangelism, the Baptism in the Holy Ghost puts a burden for The Souls of mankind inside of a man and a woman.....
Reformed calvinist will tell you that only a Chosen Few can be saved, the elect the ones that God has predestined...they search the scriptures to backup this cultic teaching, and send out very few evangelist... because the Preaching of the Gospel can not save you if your not part of the elect of God...if you repent in sackcloth and Ashes and humble yourselves, you just will not be let in to this exclusive club called salvation...
It's almost always the reformed believers that will attack Pentecostals . . .the very group that sends out more missionaries than any other church group...we teach that Salvation is for all people's, that God is no respecter of persons, that he wants all people to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ that no man should perish...but be saved...Yes we believe that God has predestined all people to be saved, but it's a free will choice . . .Romans 10:9-10 If you will confess the Lord Jesus Christ and believe in your heart that God has raised Christ from the dead you will be saved... free well something you do...John 3:16...Hodos!
    ...
What all believers need is to be filled with the Holy Ghost baptized in the holy spirit with power and dunamis...repent then cry out to God the Holy Ghost and ask him in Prayer to Baptize you in the Baptism of the Holy Ghost...in Jesus name... you'll be talking right once Baptized in the Holy Ghost...Acts 1:4-8... Promise of the Father...then Acts 2:39
There are over 279 million classical Pentecostals, in the whole world, and only 40 million Baptist in the World... Pentecostals are the Largest Evangelical Christian group... Pentecostals send out more missionaries throughout the world then any other church group...pray that God in Christ Jesus would Baptize you with the Promise of the Father the Baptism in the Holy Ghost... Acts 1:4-8 Acts2:2-4 Acts 2:39 Acts 10:44-47 Acts 19:1-6
Then Go into all the World and Preach the Gospel of Salvation to everyone, Mark 16:15...Hodos!
    2nd Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
