Love that you’re testing a 450 grain arrow at a 28” DL !! That’s a much more realistic speed test for us average sized guys out here running average arrows. Thank you, sir.
I love he is doing that for fact it's my exact set up except I shoot 475 grains when I run 125 points I just can't get on the heavy arrow band wagon don't fix what works and what I shoot has always worked perfectly for me.
Going to have to look at this one when I upgrade my 14-year old's bow. He's still growing and this has the longer riser than his old Bear Cruzer. Thanks for the review!
Always enjoy the reviews. I really appreciate that even though you aren't in the heavy arrow camp, you still added it to your reviews. I wouldn't buy without checking out your reviews first! Keep up the great work, and thank you for all you do!
Im thinking about getting a press and i feel these budget bears are an excellent candidate to practice tuning on. The value is incredible! Also appreciate you testing at the 28” draw length! Please do more of this going forward! Thanks for the review Josh!
This point system is way better than last year, especially that different areas are weighted more or less. And the 100 point scale should give more variance between bows, which is good. Keep up the good work and always be tweaking the system!
Ive had a few bows but my favorite that I always go back to is my bear divergent 28. Like some of the older bear bows but its hard to find good second had bear bows. In Australia
Awesome new scoring system!! Would love to see you put a couple other mid-price/entry level bows through it, even though they aren’t new releases this year. I think the Elite Terrain would shock some people. Would include the Torrex, amplify, consequence 2.0. Unless of course the manufacturers drop them from the line in the next few months
I think the new score system is great. Would love to see how this bow stacks up against other "grow with you" bows like the Elite Ember, Mission Switch, and Diamond Pro 320.
yep.. looking at the Hoyt Kobalt and Diamond Pro 320 for my kid. Her twin brother got the legend XR and they both love it. I now have to get a second bow!
I really like the new grading system, I think when you make your spread sheet you should break them down in price groups so that way people who are looking for just an entry level cost bow can easily compare those to each other. Cause I'll be the first to say that I tend to spit take/LOL whenever I see the videos on TH-cam about entry level or economical priced bows and they are comparing $1000+ bows. To the average Joe out there that is neither entry level or Economically priced. Great video MFJJ!
Good introduction bows comparisson would be nice; that Bear Legend, Hoyt kobalt, Diamond edge 320 is what I am looking at for my kid ''grow with me bow''
2 for features? I mean, it's an entry-level bow with front and rear integrated mounts. Only a 2? I might pick this bow up to get the wife shooting honestly, can work her way into it and it isn't something that feels too "cheap" or a kids bow.
Insane. The New bear bows are as good in every category as any other brand. Speed, accuracy, and draw cycle. People need to go out and test them before dogging them because bear used to be a store brand bow.
Instead of rating out of the box, shouldn't you get the bow into spec and then stack them up? crank the limb bolts measure and adjust ATA then test. This would make sure the "Honesty" is true. If the ATA is out of spec and you don't bring it into speck at full draw weight then the FPS is going to be off. Just my $.02
What is reflex or reflex geometry? I looked it uo and what i gather it has to do with the grip and the limb pockets, but do not understand what it affects or how it affects it
I don't understand how you have value a 4. One of the cheapest bows with a ton of features gets a 4. What rates a 5? The major brands should be getting 2s, and 3s for value after rating this a 4.
Not sure if Bear will ever get the Mathews/Hoyt/PSE/Bowtech/etc loyalists to ever jump ship but at the flagship level. I’m knocking Bear, I short a Bear, just being honest. I don’t think their flagships really compare with the others.
That’s the bows Ibo rating not the actual speed it will be different for everyone at different draw lengths draw weights arrow weights and even the arrow rest
Love the new score system; as you get more of the bows scored out I think the new system will really shine.

My current bow is a Bear Legend XR. Plan on passing it down to my daughter when the time comes.
I appreciate the work you are putting into this, thank you!

Will you be going back and testing some of the older bows with this new scoring system? Like the Lift or RX-8.

Love the new testing protocol
it would be cool to see you rate your current favorite bow with this new scoring system
2 for features? I mean, it's an entry-level bow with front and rear integrated mounts. Only a 2? I might pick this bow up to get the wife shooting honestly, can work her way into it and it isn't something that feels too "cheap" or a kids bow.
What arrow rest were you using? I enjoy all your reviews!
Love the new rating system
What is that quiver setup on the Matthews bow hanging from the ceiling??? I’ve been toying with building a configuration like that.
This is a good review for a good bow. It's cheap but one you can start with.
Bear surpass review coming?

My only thought is perhaps you should have a price point scale and a flagship scale

Any body know when Hoyt is going to launch there bows?
What is reflex or reflex geometry? I looked it uo and what i gather it has to do with the grip and the limb pockets, but do not understand what it affects or how it affects it
Usually, less reflex in a riser means grip torque wont affect accuracy as much.
Two Bears one Cave...
I won’t watch or shoot either.

Ugh...you keep measurring from end to end of the axel...its from center to center.
No he does from the front of one axle to the back of the other which is the same as center to center
I think you are showing your own personal bias in the scoring system . If it was a manufacture you like they would be different
How do you think he is?
Not sure if Bear will ever get the Mathews/Hoyt/PSE/Bowtech/etc loyalists to ever jump ship but at the flagship level. I’m knocking Bear, I short a Bear, just being honest. I don’t think their flagships really compare with the others.
...because people watch videos and believe everything they hear.
Why is Bear ALWAYS so far off their advertised FPS compared to other brands? It's so discouraging!
That’s the bows Ibo rating not the actual speed it will be different for everyone at different draw lengths draw weights arrow weights and even the arrow rest
That’s the bows Ibo rating dumbass. everybody knows that stop being a keyboard warrior

One little man's opinion. You keep buying those overpriced ME TOO lies. The Bigger, better, faster, more, LIES.
