Going to be doing my very first wedding videography in February...been searching around for tutorials in TH-cam since color grading is my weakness...YOURS by FAR is the best and most simple to follow! YOU DA MAN...THANK YOUUUUU
Hey my man! I don’t wanna be weird, but… how did you get into wedding videography 😅. I’m super into filmmaking and have all this gear but I’m just a “hobby” gear nerd dude right now and would like to put this stuff to good use 😬. I have thought about putting up ads for a “free wedding videographer” who “is just trying to get better at the job” before asking people for money.
@@gravitykat1100 @@gravitykat1100 nah, you good man. Asking around is a good way to start. But it just happened when people have convinced me that my personal travel videos I post on my personal social media could be sold and one friend hiring me for her wedding because she loves my work. But seems like you have a solid plan, you could find a relative or friend to do a free one and ad it to social media and on Facebook ads.
@@ZachMayfield one of the issues I had during a shoot was filming indoors while two big windows behind the bride&groom let in sunlight which created a dark shadowy look when I pointed my camera at them. I didn't have an ND filter with me so I just tried moving around, trying to get the least amount of shadow.
Me watching this video: "Ok, that's simple" "What? That doesn't look good at all!" "Why are they green????" "Wait, he's cooking" "Oh shit he knows what he's doing" "God that looks good" 😂
Hey! So what settings do you set up on your GH5 to shoot wedding? I just shot a wedding on my GH5 but I am fairly new so I haven't been getting the shots I wanted to.
Love your tutorials, If you could show us also how you match or generally manage colors in Premier Pro from different cameras like Gh5 + Go Pro + Drone etc... , would be very nice.
Boom this tutorial is so helpful man... thanks heaps... Side question - Following this tutorial and I colour in on an XPS 15, I followed this method and looks epic on my XPS but when viewing on my apple laptop looks rubbish haha... Any tips or ideas on how to colour in on windows and still make it look okay on Apple?? LOL (side note though - there's definitely room for editing improvement by me, i believe I crushed the shadows/blacks too much but just wondering if you know a way to make it look decent on multiple devices?)
Hey there man! So glad you found this helpful. The most important thing you can do is get your screen calibrated. That way your color work will look accurate across all devices. In the mean time, on your XPS you can right click on the desktop and mess with Dell PremierColor settings. I have the XPS 15 for mobile work and I have my screen set to "Photo ( Adobe RGB)"
Thanks heaps for taking the time to reply... Yeah I've gotten my screen calibrated its just that on this screen alot of my footage graded looked sweet however when I uploaded youtube (unlisted) and checked on another device (mac air, iphone) it was looking pixelated & dotty which was a bit weird! And oh my XPS was set to internet (sRGB) - will definitely give it another crack today on Photo (adobe RGB) and fingers crossed... Thanks again legend !
Zachariah Mayfield brooo! Quick update - change the display to the Adobe RGB you recommended and finally came out alright!! Happy days... Youre a legend mate thanks heaps ❤️🤙
I'm currently working on my second wedding video, this is going to be SO helpful when I get to this stage! Couldn't not subscribe, looking forward to more from you!! Ayyy, God bless you as well!
Yes, definitely helped, thank you! The new Mavic looks great and i if anyone was on the fence about getting a drone for making their content better then that's the one to get! Are you getting one? I have had my Mavic Pro for over a year now, probably won't be upgrading.
I'm so glad I found your channel man. Super helpful and you seem like such an awesome guy to be around. Thanks for everything that you do. God bless you
Hey, I downloaded film convert and have a couple issues. I shot a wedding on a T6i and the closest profile they had was a T3i. Main problem is the footage almost turns green when applying the film convert add on at all. Any tips to work with film convert?
I would maybe try to download a bunch of Canon camera profiles and just test them all out until you're getting the results you want. Also use the Shadow, Mid, and Highlight wheels to try and dial in accurate exposure with those profiles.
Ohhhh yes. More intuitive interface, more stable, a raft of expensive plugins built in as standard to the pro version, and the best colour grading/lut platform. Edit: sorry, comparing to Premiere. FCP is plenty stable from what I hear.
Yea that part is exactly the same as pro. The differences are the pro version i think uses more GPU for rendering so faster, and pro has the extra plugins (again from memory) denoise and flickerfree. And pro version might be needed for the 10bit GH5 footage. Note that it needs a 2GB or bigger video card.
Was hoping if I drank La Croix my videos would automatically color grade themselves! 😂😭
DOOD wouldn't that be nice?? Also I love your channel and I don't care how dumb it sounds. We should hang sometime.
Thanks bruhhhhh! Where you located again?
I'm in Nashville but I travel a bunch. You're in Texas right?
Yessirrrrr
I hope this actually happened.
his voiceeee and soft humour "my children" ohh gawshhh!!!! such a zach thing to do.. I LOVEE IT

Can you do a "how to expose properly before you shoot" video?
That's a great idea!

Zachariah Mayfield do you have an instagram?
Yessir! Just @zachariahmayfield
You should insert the name of the plugin on the title...
Awesome tutorial, got a bridal shower to color grade and I'm pretty inexperienced with colorgrading. Thanks for the clear and concise tutorial!

Yo dude! This was a long time ago and I'm no longer using the GH5. But I always shot 4K in v-log
@@ZachMayfield Oh ok, thank you!
Was watching the 20 seconds of this vid, and didn't hesitate to like it after that!
Nicee, can u please make a video on synchro how you do it in wedding
I am not able to find the profile link of flimconvert pro

I have a film convert nitrate review that covers some of the matching stuff!
Learned much about your tutorial and straight to the point! Subscribed!
Wow absolutely amazing tutorial! Amazing work and eye for color.
Yo! This was super helpful! Deff investing in FC!
HEY I'm glad!! You deff need to. It's so yum.
thanks for tutorial. do you shot in 422 10bit 4k?
Most of this footage is 4K 60p 8 bit footage. Honestly I haven't noticed much of a difference between grading 10bit and 8bit footage shot in 4K.
Nice, but my caméra profile is not on the website... lol
Oh shoot, what camera is it?
@@ZachMayfield Canon T6i AKA 750D
but this is just the beginning, my children. lol!
hehehe
Nice simply explained tutorial !
When your exposing for V-Log are you exposing over or under a stop?
Glad you enjoyed it!
I use a waveform or a histogram since I'm mostly run & gun so I just try to keep my highlights safe and that's about it!
Any recommendations for another plugin? I'd like to try the trial but it's not available in Canada!
Oh weird. Check out the GHAlex LUT, it's incredible.
Thank you so much! I don't know what to do with the extra time you made me save :)
Heyyy that's the best!!
Thank you so much, extremely useful! love your videos, keep up the good work yo
Well I'm so glad you got value from it! Thanks for all the support :)

why don't you buy the plugin
